  1. You look amazing!!! Our start weights were the same and I currently weigh 215. I would love to get to 155! I had a gastric sleeve 6/25/13. Thanks for the motivation!!!
  2. Lost a ton of hair and the texture is different. Prepare for it, but it's a trade off for your new body. I have lost 125 lbs.
  3. I had some type of stomach bug ( no puking luckily) and after 2 days of just liquids, I tried some food. I was full after just a couple bites. Is this from not eating for 3 days? Anyone else have this happen to them? I am 6 months out from surgery.
  4. Weights first, cardio after.
  5. Set your alarm and start drinking at 6am, drink constantly until you go to bed. Consider it your job! That's what I did and had no problems. You won't feel like it, but do it anyways! Fluids are very important!!
  6. I am excited to say I have lost 120 lbs since January 2013. Would I do it again???? HELL YES!!! I am lovin life. I would like to be 199, but may shoot lower depending on how it goes. STarting BMI 52 Current BMI 32 SW 340 CW 220
  7. Glad we r back on track! I am hoping to go below 224, which was my low right before thanksgiving. As far as coffee goes, I have 2 cups a day. One in the AM, and one on the evening to hopefully keep me from snacking. I think a couple cups a day is fine!
  8. How's it goin? I have been much better these last few days. I am struggling cause my capacity is more now that I am almost 6 months. But I have tamed the beast for now at least! Went to the gym and did 45 min cardio too!! How about you????
  9. Keep in mind at 2 weeks I was not yet eating! My progression was full liquids for 3 weeks, then very thin puréed food for a week, then 1 week of purée, then very soft for 2 weeks etc. I did not attempt to eat what you are eating until 6 weeks out. I did not experience any problems. I would say take it easy on your new stomach. Discomfort is a signal that you need to ease up! The eating will come, believe me!
  10. I am right there with ya! I gained over Thanksgiving ( have lost 70 since 6/25 surgery) . I am having a heck of a time kicking myself back into shape with the routine! I am so mad at myself! Today lets promise low carb and a trip to the gym. Come on ... We can do this!!!
  11. I could have pnut butter in purée phase. Be careful, it's rich and can sit heavy at first.
  12. I cry every morning as I get ready for work. The hair loss is dramatic and I call it "collateral damage".
  13. Started at 340 and am now 224. Lost 45 pre op and 70 post op surgery was on June 25th
  14. CONGRATULATIONS! You have done a great job! Just remember weight loss or not, you are a good person worthy of love from others and yourself.
  15. Almost 5 months PO and I have lost a huge amount of hair and am still shedding . I have to admit it freaks me out ! I hope it slows soon????
  16. Anyone who had surgery or will be having surgery with Dr. Posner .... Come to the support group at BGH on Wednesday Nov 20th at 5:30pm. It's very helpful!
  17. I had the same thing before surgery and would dry it thoroughly with the hair dryer after my showers. It cleared up!
  18. It's a bit irritating when people imply that if you are losing your hair it is due to not getting protein or vitamins. This is simply NOT TRUE. I am one of the unlucky ones who have followed the diet, vitamins, protein intake and healthy fats to the law 99.999% of the time and my hair is falling out big time. It just happens. Hopefully it will stop soon!
  19. Miralax is a miracle! I take some every day mixed in my protein shake .
  20. Eat like you are on Atkins Phase 1... I am 5 months out and was losing too slowly. I did this last week and also upped my exercise ( just a bit) and lost 4 lbs. cut all carbs, just a bite here and one cracker there gets me in trouble!
  21. I didn't think leaks were possible at 3 months out!
  22. Yeah Julia! You go girl
  23. Any suggestions on what to buy at Trader Joes? I am heading over there soon, anything great for a sleever 4 months out?
  24. I would say 6 weeks was a turning point for me. I hated my sleeve at first, not almost 4 month PO, I LOVE IT! I can eat what I want, just in small portions, your capacity will slowly increase over time. You will get there, really! I was afraid I had ruined my life. Now I realize I saved it! Hang on there, this too shall pass.
