  1. Cream soups, a mini food processor, lots of sugar free drinks, fun mugs or glasses to drink out of, different broths.....that's what I can think of now! Good luck!
  2. For me the benefit of surgery had to outweigh the risk. It is a complete lifestyle change. Be willing to embrace it!
  3. My roommate from the hospital had a small pinhole leak diagnosed at 3 weeks.
  4. I have no idea how you guys are getting so much protein in ??? I struggle to get in 60g per day at 5 weeks. I am also constantly pushing the fluids. Share your secrets!
  5. My surgeon offers Actigall if you want to take it post op to help prevent gall stones. Just wondering who has taken it and if people think it works? The nurse practitioner thought 50/50. I am not a huge fan of meds, thought I would get your opinions! Thanks.
  6. IMHO it would be really hard to keep it from people you r vacationing with. I told only a few people before hand for the same reason you mentioned, but post op I could not care who knows. Hard to explain the rapid weight loss and only eating a few bites of food! I have decided to embrace it rather than have people talk behind my back! Good luck , it's a wild ride!
  7. I am almost 5 weeks PO and am just now beginning to feel like myself more often. I was moody and often felt sad and wondered why I did this to my happy, although very overweight, self. My mojo is starting to come back. You will get there too. Hang in there!
  8. I had that feeling too at 3 weeks or so. It is gone now. I am 4 1/2 weeks out.
  9. I am 4 weeks PO and would not try ravioli. Stick with tuna salad, cortège cheese, cream soups etc. pasta is a no no!
  10. Hate to say this.... But get used to it pre op cause you r going to be drinking lots of shakes post op. I am 4 weeks out and still choking down 2 shakes a day to meet my protein goals. It is just something you have to embrace! Good luck!
  11. I can see the 30 lb loss in my face! 1 month PO
  12. Surgery June 25th... Pounds lost post op 29. Total since January 74 lbs lost!!! I was able to shed 45 lbs from January to June pre op.
  13. So I am entering my 5th week post op and have felt like I have turned the corner. Drinking is easier, eating is better, although still microscopic amounts. What's that up there ahead....possibly a light at the end of the tunnel? For all you vets out there, when did you feel like you turned the corner? To my fellow late June sleevers, how r you doing?
  14. Catherine I struggle with getting it all in as well. I just do the best I can each day. It is a juggling act. I still up and drinking cause I was a little behind on my liquids!
  15. I used to have a trainer and strength training before cardio is the rule.
  16. I have the same problem. I asked last night at my support group meeting and the nurse said it had to do with the stomach healing and the by products of the healing are expelled through your breath. Can cause a yucky taste or a coated tongue. I have both!
  17. I must be committed to this as I am staying up late in order to get my liquids In! Almost there for today!
  18. Thank you for posting. I am at 3 weeks and your plates make me drool ! I can eat so little now... Can't wait!
  19. My stomach was s symphony of weird noises for a week or so. It's pretty quiet now @ 3 weeks.
  20. Great idea! How far out are you?
  21. I feel your pain, at this point I would just like to be able to eat a few ounces! A cup of food sounds like heaven!!!!!
  22. After WILL be a struggle! Drinking enough is a full time job, even at 3 week out!
  23. I am just past the 3 week mark and I too feel like this was emotionally a little more than I had anticipated. Not eating IS extremely hard for me. It is hard to go from constant mindless eating of whatever you want to thinking about every morsel of puréed food and measuring every ounce of liquid. Some nights I stay up late just to get in my required intake. It is a full time job for a long while! This surgery is no joke and should be for those who have significant weight to lose IMHO. I was 340 in January, 295 day of surgery and 270 this morning. I hope to join the ranks of those with no regret some day! As for now I take it one sip at a time! No going back now !
