  1. I am about 5 weeks post op and I have to admit that there are moments when I regret the surgery as well. Very brief fleeting moments. I would do the surgery again in a second. You have to look at the long term benefits. I got the surgery because I wanted to have more time with my wife and newborn daughter. I dont want to die young and leave them alone. In the long run, the benefits far outweigh the brief joy from pigging out!!!
  2. Very inspiring. Great work by you and God.
  3. I have tried just about every one out there. The best tastin IMO are pure protein. They have 35 grams of protein in each 12 oz can and only 3 or 4 carbs/sugars. I got them on amazon. I saw some at wal mart that only had 23 grams of protein.
  4. There is one on pinterest that is made from cauliflower and cheese I believe. I have not tried it because I am still on soft foods but It is on my list!!!
  5. 76lbs in 14 weeks!! Way to go!!! I am looking forward to actually fitting in my seat at the ballpark!!
  6. I dont have any pain or anything. I think they are worried about the seeds getting caught in a souture line and getting infected but you could be right about the digestion. I would think that I am fully healed.
  7. I am about 5 weeks post op and have been following all my Dr's guidelines. Then I realized that I was eating a piece of hot pepper cheese as a snack which may contain some hot pepper seeds. I know we are not supposed to eat seeds. Wondering if anybody knows anything about this. I plan on calling my NUT just want to know what everybody else has heard.
  8. That is the one thing I am having a hard time with. I dont eat more than I am supposed to but it only takes me 5-10 mins to eat. It is such a small amount of food it is hard to take 15 mins. I chew it to death and I put my fork/spoon down between bites.
  9. Surgery was January 30th so I am about 5 weeks.
  10. My menu from my Doc for soft foods has whole grain crackers and saltines as a snack. Would Triscuits be included in that?
  11. I quit about a year before my surgery. Cold turkey. The whole reason I am getting the surgery is to be healthier and live longer so it only made sense to quit smoking first. I will not lie. It was not easy. I gave up smoking, basically eating and alcohol. The three crutches that have gotten me through my life. It was very hard but like they say, anything worth having or doing is hard. You will get through it if you truly want it. Every time you want a cig you have to focus on the negative things about smoking.
  12. Congratulations! I hope to lose much more than 50% of my excess weight.
  13. The sleeve is the first part of a gastric bypass. You may need to have a second operation to convert to a gastric bypass if you cant do it on your own. I would wait until you are done having kids to do that though.
  14. Have not tried it or anything but thought I would share. http://bbcom.me/15JZAki
  15. I had it for about 3 days and nothing seemed to make it better. It just goes away
  16. I was worried there for a second. I dont wait at all between pills. I am a month out and just got clearance to take them without crushing.
  17. Have you tried "pure protein"? They are pretty good shakes. They have 35 grams of protein in each 12 oz can.
  18. I was sleeved on January 30th and am down 52lbs, 14 of which was pre-op
  19. I had pureed food from 2-4 but I would rather have stuck to liquids. I did not like pureed at all.
  20. Good luck. I did not start pureed until 2 weeks out. I would say stew or chili.
