  1. Hi, I'm looking for someone who had their surgery done by Dr Villanueva in Concord NC. He is doing my surgery Monday, but I've never found anyone who used him before, just wanting some feedback on him. Thanks!
  2. Prayers being sent! Good luck to both of you
  3. That's awesome, congratulations! My surgery is Monday, hope I have such good results!
  4. Yes, I want details also haha. My surgery is next Monday and I'm so nervous!!
  5. Khloe...I got your invite, but when I clicked on it, it said content not available Btw, went for my pre-op today, everything is set for April 1st at 12:30, best part is no pre-op diet...yay!
  6. I would like to be added to the fb group as well, I searched it on fb but couldn't find it, my email is tnellp@yahoo.com, thanks!
  7. Praying! No worries, God is with you!
  8. I'm scheduled for April 1st, I've thought about it, but afraid if I gain any weight my doctor won't do the surgery....well I did have a coke with my dinner last night instead of water, but surely that doesn't count haha.
  9. Hey guys, I'm a nurse also, planning to take 2 weeks, well actually 19 days since I work three 12 hour shifts, I'll let you know how it goes, I'm on a busy telemetry floor.
  10. I'm scheduled for April 1st, so far it looks like I'm going to be the first one of us April sleevers
  11. My surgery is in 2 weeks, I'm scared too, but I think that's normal. I'm sure everything will be fine...with both of us! My mother in law had gastric bypass and says I will feel so much better when the weight is off, so when I start panicking, I just think about what she said. Good luck and keep us updated!
  12. Candice, thanks for the info, I'll be sure to try premier shakes also!
  13. I love body by vi shakes! Can you use these as your protein supplements after surgery?? I didn't think they had enough protein in them, but they are yummy! I'm scheduled to be sleeved April 1st.

Thank you for posting! I'm scheduled for April 1st and of course very nervous. Your post is very comforting for those of us pre-surgery. I've had 2 c-sections, so hoping you're right about that! Glad to read your story, thank you again and congratulations!
  15. I'm scheduled for April 1st, I'm right there with you, so scared but kinda excited. I've been scouring posts tonite trying to get some ideas for protein drinks. Good luck and congratulations!

Mysties mom, you got lucky! My physicians office says I will have to pay my max out of pocket upfront, which is like $4500. But you shouldn't have to pay more than your max out of pocket, and many insurances are less than mine, I just have bad insurance. I've been approved, just waiting now for them to tell me how much to bring to my pre op appointment. Then I'll be able to decide if I can afford it.
  17. Wow, you look amazing! Congratulations!
  18. I was also diagnosed with ulcers and gastritis when I had my EGD. My doctor told me no smoking and no sodas for 3 months, and I'm taking Protonix 2x a day. He said my stomach wouldn't heal right after the surgery otherwise. It is absolutely killing me, but trying to look at it as I was going to have to give up my bad habits eventually anyway, just getting an early start. Good luck on your surgery! Please let us know how it goes
  19. I don't think you're alone. A girl I work with said she ate at every place she loved before her surgery, she called it her farewell tour haha. Good luck with your surgery!
  20. Thank you everyone for the replies! I am definitely going to ask my doctor if I can have more recovery time. Thanks again!
  21. That's what I was thinking! Couldn't believe I'd be ready to go back so soon! Thanks for your comment!
  22. Hi, I'm new here, and planning on having the sleeve done in April. I'm a nurse on a telemetry floor and worried about when I'll be able to go back to work. My surgeon said I could go back in 2 weeks, but because my job is somewhat physical, lifting patients, pulling them up in bed, taking them to the bathroom, not to mention being on my feet for 12 hours straight, I'm afraid I won't be ready. Can anyone who has had the surgery give me some insight into what I should expect and when you were ready to go back? Thanks so much!
