Price

I just received a letter from the hospital saying my surgery cost 35,000. That's no where close to what my Dr quoted. I hope my insurance pays for it all. What is the average price ?

I had surgery 2.5 weeks ago and also received a bill from the hospital of 36000....I was shocked...however my insurance is pending and I should only be required to pay the 1,000 deductible...will keep u posted.

Mine was also $35000 and insurance is pending. My insurance should pay all but my out of pocket, which is $800.

I paid $18,500 cash in Las Vegas and I stayed two nights in the hospital. That also included the BLIS insurance. My insurance does not cover any part of weight loss surgery.

I had my surgery last october, and the hospital billed about $38,000 but the insurance made a contractual adjustment and paid $17,500, luckily my deductable and out of pocket had been met, so I didn't owe anything.

Mysties mom, you got lucky! My physicians office says I will have to pay my max out of pocket upfront, which is like $4500. But you shouldn't have to pay more than your max out of pocket, and many insurances are less than mine, I just have bad insurance. I've been approved, just waiting now for them to tell me how much to bring to my pre op appointment. Then I'll be able to decide if I can afford it.

My co pay is only $12. I have no deductible its 100 percent coverage. I hope I don't have to pay a bunch. They should tell us before our surgery what they will not cover.

I have pretty good insurance. But I am still worried about this.
