Thank you for the compliment. And no i dont have any problems with skin, i have two children that were delivered by c-section so i always had a little bump in the stomach area. When i put on my undergarments it conceals it anyway. And yes my husband likes the fact that my thickness is still in the right places, lol.

This just seems so unreal to me I called insurance, BC/BS TX to see if they had gotten paperwork doctor sent over on Monday (yes 3 days ago) and they not only said they had it but that I had been APPROVED!!!!! That was so unexpected but so darn exciting to hear!! I have the Water works going because I am so thankful to know my new life can really begin OMG I am feeling so many different things. Wow Thank you Lord!! 3 days really. The actual letter will be sent out in a few more days but it's approved!!!!

If you have any family history of diabetes, high blood pressure the insurance company will look at that too! I am low bmi!

I would try calling the insurance back and hopefully get some good "customer service" this time. Your insurance carrier has the specifics of your plan and your surgeons office does not. I think if you get the right agent at blue cross all your questions could be answered for you. i know it can be nerve wracking especially when someone is not giving you vital information, but hang in there and keep pushing you way to sleevedom.

I wish the customer service rep. would have been a little less vague and told me more on the phone! I am curious what the criteria is. I guess I should call my surgeon's office back and tell them what I have found and see what to do next.

I gained an extra 10lbs after I confirmed my surgery.. ugh! I don't even bother shopping. I stuck with uggy baggy sweatshirts and borrowed jeans. Even n MX. I refused to buy anything more in a larger size. I kept telling myself.. Nope I'm saving my money for the smaller clothes to come.
I totally underhand the depression though. I was so depressed about my weight. I could not clear my mind of how missable I was and it just kept cycling to where I hated myself.
Anyway.. Chin up girl.. You're on your way to a new healthy and happier you!

I'm newly sleeved, so I haven't gotten to the smaller size clothes yet, but listen...... I am so excited to not be sad about shopping another summer. So excited.
In the winter, I had ONE outfit. One. Stretchy pants and a long hoody. That's what I wore in the rare times I left the house. I hated going out, too, because of how ugly I felt. In the warmer months, I wore jeans and a tshirt. One outfit. I'm so excited also to wear cute things for my fiancé. Even though he says that he loves me regardless, I just know that men love to be proud of being with a sexy lady! Lol. And he deserves the best. And... He's hot. I snagged him when I was thinner. He's a sexy man. And I want to be his sexy woman.
Stay strong. It's hard, but the shopping depression will soon be a thing of the past. Xo!

I would try for the baby first based on statistics of age. I was 230 and got pregnant with fertility shots at the age of 36 and 39. Good luck to you in whatever you decide.

No, your not crazy! Your body is trying to heal itself, and causing your hormones to be out of balance. Many people go through this. I became very sensitive around two weeks, and wanted to cry over nothing. It will pass! I know, everyone says this, but it really does get easier. Hang in there..Hugs!

Your not crazy I did the same thing! I'm 3 weeks as of tomorrow & still have good days & bad! I just keep telling myself I'm down 31 pounds & keep running to my goal! U can do it .... Just remember why u did it in the first place! :-)

Haha just kidding! It's part of the ride, the first month I was crazy emotional about everything there were days that I just went back to bed and told my husband just wake me up when I can eat again!!

In your case, I'd do ART now, unless your weight is a very serious consideration. I'm not sure of your specifics or stats.
At the very least, do the stim cycle/harvest and have him give his donation to the cause as well. I'm assuming IVF, of course.
DH and I did IVF w/ICSI in 2007 - I was obese but otherwise the doc had no serious concerns about my conceiving. We did have success (b/g twins!) and we froze five embryos as well.
I had my sleeve in 2010. In July of 2012 we did a frozen transfer of the embryos that made the thaw and I'm due in three weeks. In all absolute honesty I am going to state that in my case, at least, this pregnancy post VSG was HARDER than the twin pregnancy prior. I'm healthy, yes - and I didn't develop gestational diabetes this go round which was nice. But watching my diet and general physical discomfort were actually worse. I'm not saying that having babies while obese is the ideal - I'm just saying that for me, losing the weight didn't make pregnancy as easy or better like my docs told me it would!
I say do a cycle now. Do your sleeve post baby, once you're done weaning (assuming you plan to BF) and then focus on your body and you. I didn't conceive until two years post sleeve and it was still a challenge to build up to eating enough and eating properly. I cannot even imagine doing it sooner, though many women do.
Some types of ART are more likely to make you pack on pounds than others. I can say that I gained quite a bit with my full IVF cycle because the stims. No doubt, it was absolutely worth it to me. This go round I was really worried about weight gain and I admit that the hormones did have me gain ten pounds almost right out of the gate, but then I slowly put on the rest of my gain over the next seven months. I've had a perfectly normal weight gain this time and it's apparent that it's all baby. I have no doubt I'll be back at goal within months of delivery.

Edited to add: Do yourself a favor and find an aggressive reproductive endocrinologist that's experienced with advanced maternal age. Don't waste your time on someone that hasn't dealt with your situation before - get onto some fertility message boards and put feelers out, because as iggy mentioned, your rates of success are lower (sorry to say) so you don't want to waste precious time. Cheri, great idea! OP, there is an IVF specialist in Denver who specializes in advanced maternal age. Their rates for over 45 are top in the nation. They use a form of viagra that increases the uterine wall lining (biggest issue for most of us). You don't need to live there, just fly there for a couple visits and they work with your local doc. But yes, do find a specialist that has proven success rates in the geriatric group . we have different issues than the kids do.

Hey there everyone i just got my sleeve done on the 28th and the first 2 days were horrible the gas pain was bad but after the first two days it gets better. Right now im on my 4th day I still have a little pain and when i drink Water its in little sips and then i feel full and have to walk around and then able to take a little sip of water! Im really looking forward to start loosing weight i just cant wait till the pain completely goes away!! Im glad to be able to have this forum to talk about how i feel and be able to read about other experiences!!
