JP69 got a reaction from anayortiz in Sleeved Twice - My Story
Wow, what s story. So sorry you had to go through surgery twice:(
Thanks for putting your story out there. People that haven't been sleeved yet, whether your private or self pd. Check and double check your Dr! Most have a history and success rate, don't be afraid to ask lots of questions. I sure did. I even made my Dr uncomfortable at times with all my questions, but I found out everything I needed to know to have a successful surgery

JP69 got a reaction from No game in vaginal bleeding post op
Mine started early to, in fact a few hrs after surgery! For some reason they ate a little different after surgery. Not sure why its brownish color, but for me its Brown right when I start and at the end. Lots of women are experiencing the same thing, so I'm thinking it might just be the trama your body is going through. I have had four periods so far and I'm fine

I have a co worker who happens to be a dear friend to. When I finally told her I was going to have this surgery, she just keeped telling me about how her sister had RNY 12 years ago and gained back weight. Well maybe she gained 20 or so lbs back, but not close to what she ever weighed at het highest. I can tell just from listening to her it sounds like jealousy. With me she says she was happy and supports me, but has never mentioned anything to me yet. And I am down 55#! Everyone else I know has said something positive. I hate that some people just can't be happy for you. She is over weight also, so why doesn't she chose to do something about it instead of being unhappy all the time. I just don't get it:)

Each day gets a little easier, just take it slow.Don't worry about to much or your Protein Shakes, just try and stay hydrated. Sip, sip, sip, like all day pretty much. I was around two weeks and finally could drink fluids a little like normal. Not chugging but not sipping either. As far as sounds you will have lots of tha, especially when you start soft foods Totally normal now. My Dr says its cause all the air we take in when we eat and drink . Our stomachs only want food no extra room for air. Hence all the gurggles.

Probably because its liquid.liquids usually slide through the sleeve much easier than solid food. When you start regular food you will get full much quicker.

This for sure isn't the miracle cure. It's still up to each one of us to use this surgery to our advantage. It will always be work, just follow all your nutritional needs and excersise and you will melt away:)

I just purged my closet for the third yesterday! Only because the first two times I thought the same thing, maybe I will need it someday or its one of my faves. So I started trying everything on and realized its still way to big. I to have been shoppjng at the thrift stores, cause I can't stand to wear baggy pants. I also shop every clearance rack at Target and Walmart, just for a few items a month

Yes but you are on the lower part of the scale. I had only lost 13# two weeks out. You have to take into consideration what people weigh. Someone that's 300# is gonna lose more and faster than someone who is 200#. I'm nine weeks out and have lost about 30# post surgery, but I am only losing like a # a week now. And I only eat between 600-800 cal. Don't worry it will come off:)

I agree with Shyv, you would never be able to lose on normal diet. Don't get on scale for awhile and keep on doing what you've been doing, it will keep coming off. I am 9 weeks and down 30# since surgery, and only losing about 1# a week. I am down from an 18 to a 12 so I'm happy with that:)

JP69 reacted to 7carol3 in Crustless pizza
I made this Friday night. It was awesome! I've had it for 4 meals now and i still have two pieces left. I love cold pizza and that's how I've been eating it. I'm sure it would be good reheated in the oven as well. I thought I would need something to dip it out of the pan with but it isn't dip-like at all!! I am shocked! It was very easy to make too, that's a bonus! "Crust" 1 - 8 oz. pkg. reduced fat cream cheese 2 - eggs (I used 6 Tbsp. Three Cheese Egg Beaters) 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper 1 tsp. garlic powder 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (I used Buitoni, not that powdery green container Kraft stuff.) "Topping" Pizza sauce of your choice to desired amount Desired toppings- I used turkey pepperoni, fresh mushrooms on 1/2, & diced ham. Finish with shredded skim mozzarella. I like it cheesy I probably used two cups. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13" pan with non-stick spray, set aside. Mix cream cheese, egg, pepper, garlic powder & Parmesan with a mixer until combined. Spread cream cheese mixture into prepared pan. Bake cream cheese "crust" mixture for 12-15 minutes until golden. Remove and cool for 10 minutes. Once cooled spread pizza sauce onto crust. Add desired toppings. Sprinkle topped pizza with garlic powder, if desired, and return to 350 degree oven to bake an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is melted and pizza is heated through. Cool slightly and serve. Yummy!!

JP69 got a reaction from anayortiz in WHAT TO EXPECT PAIN WISE AFTER SURGERY?PLZ INFORM ME..
I agree with Takingcontrol. I had very little surgical pain, but did have a little gas pain the first few days. Just try and get up and walk around, that will help get the gas out of your belly. If all goes well with surgery, you should only have pain or discomfort for a few days. But remember everyone is different and each surgery is different, so just stay positive and focused.

JP69 got a reaction from epasseri in Oh no... Getting Sleeved while on my period
Mine started day of surgery. They will give you these net panties, and nice big thick pads that they use in the maternity ward. The nurses are very used to it and they will help you. You'll be able to go to bathroom and keep yourself clean. As for cramps you might not feel much cause of the pain meds Good luck:) you'll be fine its really no big deal to them..

JP69 got a reaction from Fawn1120 in How many of you recent sleevers are hungry?
Yes my Dr. said the same things. You will learn to listen to your body. I am 6 1/2 weeks out and I get really hungry if I go to long in between meal. But the crazy part is, you can be famished, but after 2oz you feel stuffed! Its crazy how the sleeve is such an awesome tool. It does boil down to choices. Do you want 2oz of protien or 2oz of chocolate or junk. You are gonna be hungry for real good food, and your cravings will slowly go away. you are'nt gonna want to waste what little food you can eat on something unhealthy. Good luck:)
