Yeah I remember reading that post and she did go waayy over board!!!! That was very big of you to not respond to that crap. Loveit2012 the staff at De Paul is very nice, I haven't had my sleeve done yet but I have met with psych, NUT, and the nurse practitioner, and they were all wonderful. If you do decide to leave I would let it be known by whoever's in charge. Maybe if they see that their loosing patients behind this, they'll get it together.

So excited to find other St. Louis peeps on here!!! I'm getting sleeved Tuesday (sept 24) by Dr. Morales. I'm 3 days into my liquid diet and instead of being miserable like I thought I would be, I'm beyond excited about this new chapter. I, of course, am also scared to death, but after reading about a gazillion posts on here, I think that's pretty normal. St. Louis is about to get a whole lot sassier!! Congrats Ladies....and Gents if there are any on this thread.

I had some struggles with the office staff too prior to surgery. If you look at my posts from this Spring, you'll see where I vented. Just a few weeks ago, somebody kinda went off on me in that post. I'm thinking it was somebody from the office based on their lack of profile info, no other posts, and comments that only an insider could make. I choose to bite my tongue instead of reply but was pretty offended. My experience was my experience -- I'm a reasonable person as I've been in service most of my career. Getting steamed again just thinking of that person's post. Anyhow, sorry you are having a bad experience with somebody. Luckily, I think most of the people there are fantastic. Hope it resolves itself soon!

I find it odd that you have only made one post and it sounded like an advertisement for MNS.

I had a small chocolate shake last night too and felt soooo awful after. Won't be doing that again. I've had sugar here and there but obviously pushed it too much with the shake. So grateful for my sleeve and how it reminds me to be a good girl when I make bad food choices. :-)

I live in St.Louis, I'm having mine done at DePaul with Dr.Morales. I'm so excited to see so many St.Louisians on here. Congratulations and good luck to everyone. My insurance is making me await six months but if all goes well I will go in some time in Febuary/March. Is any one going to the support group at Depaul on 9/18

Wow. The negativity from some of the users on here is just plain ugly. Some haven't reached the point of struggle and some forget what it felt like. To the person who wrote Just don't eat ****? You dont belong on here. This is a friendly and helpful community. You took the time out of your day to make someone else feel bad for expressing their concerns for their struggle. Shame on you. Life is hard enough without negative people dragging us down. To the poster of the thread, I am only a week out so I have very little advice on the topic, but what I can tell you is hold your head up high and don't let these fools bring you down. We need to stand together...not tear each other apart.

Guys, seriously?? do you think this will never happen to you during the rest of your life? I can't believe some of the nasty posts. SO not helpful.
OP, I'm sure this will happen to many of us. Although I'm not far enough out yet, one of the things that helped me pre-op was being forced to give up the carbs doing the liquid diet. I find that when I eat carbs, I just keep getting hungrier and hungrier. Perhaps you can get yourself back on track by increasing your Protein intake over the weekend? By eating your Protein first?
Sending you good wishes and lots of good luck.

I did not post that looking for "permission" to eat junk. I was sharing my struggle and hoping for some encouragement to get back on track. And partly I was posting just to be accountable to myself by making it public. I was being honest.
I really find that there is a lot of negativity and judgement on this forum.
The best advice I've gotten so far was the suggestion about a therapist. The rest is just nasty and judgmental. And to the person who said "stop eating ****"... You are about 4 days out, right? I hope for your sake you don't struggle like I am at 4 months, but at 4 days food made me sick. That changes over time and it does get harder. I'm not making excuses for my choices. Just being real and looking for some help.

So I was shopping for new jeans this weekend and started in the Women's section of the store. Took a bunch of clothes into the dressing room (I think I have a shopping problem!) and realized as I tried on each item ... THEY WERE ALL TOO BIG!!! So I ventured over to the MISSES department (haven't shopped there in 10 years) and I fit into the L/XL shirts and a size 16 in Levi's. OMG - I am no longer in Plus sizes!! I was jumping up and down and giggling - I'm sure the other shoppers thought I was insane. But I was sooooo happy, I can't even begin to expain it Unfortunately the Levi's didn't fit me quite right, but I proceeded to New York & Co. and got my first ever pair of skinny jeans in a size ... wait for it... 14!!!! I started this journey at a size 22 so I'm just a little flippin excited

I am having my surgery with Dr. Scott. My sister had a gastric bypass years ago with Dr. Scott and was/is very happy. My New Self has been very helpful. I am tentatively scheduled for Oct - but am still waiting on insurance approval. Crossing my fingers! Would love to hear what you decided and if you are happy with your sleeve! Any other St. Louisans out there?

I am so disgusted by how much everyone eats now especially my boyfriend. Maybe I am just jealous, but I don't think so. I don't miss eating like that. But I do miss craving something. food is just not exciting now. I have to make myself eat, just because I know I have too.

It wasn't until the 5-6 week mark that I really felt like myself again. I still burp all of the time and have diarrhea about half of the time. But, I'm down 48 lbs and feel better than I have in a very long time. It will get better - I promise. Some of us take longer than others to recover. I know it can be confusing when you read the stories from people who seem not to be fazed or affected at all - I think that's the exception rather than the rule but I'm no expert. Hang in there and let us know in a couple weeks if you are feeling differently.
