  1. Just read the labels, my dr said anything with more than 15 gr of sugars it just a glorified candy bar...& alot of them have way too much sugar & too many carbs! Atkins has some good ones...I only carry one for emergencies. You can get more protein for less calories other ways.
  2. I feel the same, in 5 days it will be one month post-op & I'm just down 15lbs! But my Sis-n-law had this 1 1/2 yrs ago & she said she went slower then that at first....just 7 lbs first month...then eventually it just started coming off! So just keep following what your dr & nut say & you will be fine....you can't change your mind anyway now! :-)
  3. I can't find them, where did you get them?
  4. I had terrible reflux before surgery, haven't had any since! :-)
  5. If your having gas pain, Gas-Ex has dissolvable strips that work great!
  6. You guys are freaking me out with this "day 1" stuff....I only stayed overnight...how long did you stay?
  7. My hubby stayed, but I would have been fine alone!
  8. Me too....just try & focus on the fact that the scale IS moving & in the right direction & keep on putting one foot in front of the other & eventually we WILL get there!
  9. Great, Thanks!
  10. Sounds yummy, I will have to try them! BTW, what is SF Torani syrup!
  11. I too felt hungry all the time, but my dr released me to eat reg food at 2 wks & it got better then. I guess real food lasts longer & helps keep the hunger away.
  12. I was told to keep something beside me & sip on it all day to avoid dehydration...the # 1 complication after sleeve. I do & haven't had any problems....but I just had surgery 12/17.
  13. I thought the same thing! But once your on reg food it will get better! My dr told me, & I have read quiet a few posts that indicate some of us loose faster then others! I know, it suks! But look at the main thing...YOUR loosing! It WILL work, the scale Will move! Don't weigh yourself more then weekly & hang in there! :-)
  14. The itching means it's healing...can't answer about the glue because I just had bandaids & they came off in a few days. As far as the water & drinking goes...I thought the same thing! Did my sleeve not work?...because I felt no restrictions & quiet honestly was ALWAYS hungry! But trust me...you WILL know when you over do it! I did Not receive any restrictions from my dr about how much to drink...just keep something with you & sip on it all the time! I was sleeved Dec. 17, & am now on reg food....NOW I feel the "full" signal...& if I miss it....it reminds me later with that "OMG, I ate too much!" feeling! This is all new to us, you just have to learn to listen to you body again, it will tell you when you've had enough...& if you miss it & eat too much....ask yourself "oK, when Should I have stopped?" & try to remember that next time! Good luck!
  15. Yay...The #1 reason people have to go back to the hospital after a sleeve is dehydration! So keep up the good work! Special K also has a flavor pkg with protein that you can add to a bottle of water if you want some flavor...& added plus get in some protein! :-)
  16. I too was given the green light to eat reg food on day 14. & yes, I actually ate some mashed potatoes the first week...no problem.
  17. Get someone to pick u up some gas-Ex, their dissolvable stops & have worked great for me! You can get them anywhere like Walmart....where the tums & stuff is.
  18. I saw my dr last Tuesday & he gave me the green light for reg food...so far i haven't found anything I can't eat yet, I just had some roast beef, potato & baby carrot. I can eat about 1/2 cup total when I get that " full" feeling. I haven't had ANY nausea except for waking up from surgery.
  19. I'm just 2 wks post op...but I know this was the right choice! I have had no problems, I actually wanted to call my dr & make sure he actually did the surgery! I had a little nausea the first day, no pain...didn't even open my pain med! Other then the fact that I wasn't hungry....I felt fine! Now, the hunger is returning...I think it's in my head, cause I am full?
  20. I also had surgery Dec 17. With hernia repair....I have no trouble swallowing anything...am allowed to eat reg food. You should contact your dr!
  21. I'm 2 wks post op & feel hungry all the time too! Glad you posted, thought it was just me! I KNOW I'm full, have just eaten....but then feel that hunger pain again?? :-/
  22. Just always keep something by you & take small sips every few min.
  23. It's only been 2 wks for me, but I've only lost 10 lbs...I'm a little depressed about it! :-/
