  1. I have tried to not drink...but can't! I only take small sips though! :-/
  2. I'm trying to stay positive! I KNOW we will loose, we have to they little we eat! It IS frustrating....but this too shall pass! Like MsVeDub said....I'm paying more attention to how my clothes fit & AWAY from the scale!
  3. Wow, that's terrible! So sorry! :-(
  4. Way to jazz it up Dean! I'm a month out & jealous that your not hungry (also of your wright loss!) I get very hungry every 3-4 hrs! I can only eat a small amount, but then I'm starving again! I still love food, just now enjoying trying different healthier options! My Sis-n-law had surgery over a yr ago, & assures me things get better...& she looks awesome!! Hang in there!!
  5. I agree with mkardh, I see no reason to not enjoy an occasional drink now & then! With that said, alcohol IS a blood thinner...so you may be pushing it a little 2 wks out. I almost had a drink at a party last night, I'm a month out...but then thought better of it & drank water....however I DO see an occasional cocktail in my future. We have to learn to eat/drink smart...not deny & punish ourselves for the rest of our lives!
  6. Pureed spaghetti looks bad...but actually tastes good!
  7. Yes, the creamed soups helped a lot when i was on full liquid post-op! Just remember, this too shall pass! You CAN do it! Stay strong!
  8. I'm glad my surgeon didn't require a pre-op diet, I just had to do clear liquids the day before surgery. I really don't think I could've stuck to it! :-/
  9. I had over 40 bmi, but no other medical issues....which was one point in their denial letter. I wrote my own letter back to the insurance disagreeing...I DID have high cholesterol, which has been proven to lead to heart issues & I have a huge Famiky history of heart issues & diabetes! I just pointed that out to them, the people at my surgeons office didnt include that in the first request! Just check & see the requirements & make sure there all addressed. & if for whatever reason they deny you, they will state specifically why...then just go down the list & address every issue.
  10. Not sure, I have Aetna & had to do 6 month nutritional diet program before approval. Psych eval is really only to make sure you know this is not a miracle cure...you still have to maintain control over your eating. I know of 3 people who have Aetna & had this procedure, we were All denied the first time, but appealed & addressed everyone of their issues & were approved. Good luck...it's just a process, but you will get thru!
  11. Thanks guys! I just needed to vent, I'm actually Very happy with my decision to do the surgery...just hoping for a little faster start! :-/. But I am staying positive, & you are right...before I would have LOVED losing 2lbs in a week! But I do have to admit Im jealous for these people who loose 30-50 lbs in a month or two! :-/ & wow for those of you who run & exercise so much....heck, I'm just looking forward to the day I can walk on the treadmill without my thighs trying to start a fire!!
  12. Just 2 lbs in a week...WTH?? & this is after walking on treadmill 30 min each day! & yes, I am getting plenty of protein & water, heck...that's about ALL I get! I am one month out & just lost 17 lbs! I guess I am officially one of the "slow losers"...:-(. This sucks! But I am going to try & be optimistic & say at least I'm loosing! I have decided this weighing is too much stress....I AM loosing...I can FEEL my body changing! So,I have decided I'm just going to weigh once a month...or when I go to the dr since I have an apt in a couple weeks! :-/
  13. Try cc the surgeon in any emails to her! If she knows he is getting them too, she's more apt to answer! Worked for me anyway! & I too had no co-morbs & was turned down the first time...but I took it upon myself to write a letter back & address each of their denial points & told them correct...no issues YET, but they needed to consider family history which put me at significant risk! & the fact that they preach preventative measures! I was approved within a week!
  14. Im a month out & The only thing my tummy doesn't care for is raw onions, I don't get sick....just "burly"
  15. Not getting enough protein can increase your fatigue. Why can't you drink a protein drink...just the amount or does your tummy not tolerate it? Are you drinking water? You don't want to get dehydrated.
  16. Just be yourself, it's basically a formality to make sure your not psycho! Lol, they really just want to make sure that you understand this isn't a miracle cure....it's a tool & you still have to work to control your eating. I am just a month post op tomorrow & I LOVE my sleeve! I can basically eat anything I want...just way smaller portions! I'm totally satisfied with that! Good luck!
  17. Slatter...keep positive! Your body is still adjusting. I KNOW it's frustrating, boy do I know! But it WILL change & the weight WILL come off, hell..it HAS to...we aren't eating anything! Lol just keep doing what your doing & it will turn around soon!
  18. I'm Dec 17th too, evidently I am one of the "slow losers" :-(. Only down 15 lbs..but hey, that's 15 in the Right direction! I am VERY happy with my decision to get the sleeve...I have had absolutely NO problems thus far! :-)
  19. I also use the small containers & small silverware (helps me take smaller bites), helps with portion control & makes my mind think I'm eating more then I am...= more satisfied!
  20. I think everybody's dr & nut give different goals, just like they all have different guidelines on when to change from purée to soft to reg food. Best to ask yours.
  21. If you get the unflavored protein powder you can add it to your oatmeal, cream if wheat, or soup...or anything for added protein.
  22. Not at my Walmart either. :-(
