Happy Friday!!! It's my last friday as an Unsleeved Human!

I've done ok on my liquid diet today. Got some new products, which has helped me to do better today. Its tough, that's for sure. I am soooooo tired! 14 more days and I will be on my way to Tijuana. The closer it gets the more nervous I become.
My mother has been giving me a really hard time about my decision. She told me that she doesn't agree or support the surgery. She told me to eat 3oz's at a time. Well.....I could do that IF MY STOMACH WAS SMALLER! I'm so excited for my life to start after the surgery. My job has a big fundraising event every year in April and I want a dress that I feel good in. I have two weddings to attend this summer and want to look nice. I turn 40 in July and refuse to be fat at 40. I can't wait for this to start.

It's been good I was sleeved the 4th! I miss some foods can't wait till phase 4 of semi solid foods lol I got tuna waiting for me lol I'm down from 286 to 253 already including the pre liquid diet! So I feel great!!!

I was sleeved yesterday...i love love love Water and vicodin.

I feel the same way. My surgery is in 9 days and I can't wait. I've been on the liquid diet for almost 2 weeks and have been walking 30 minutes a day, but can't get the scale to move. That just solidifies why I need this surgery. I have zero metabolism and just need that help.

I've been on the liquid diet for more than 10 days now. I have 9 more to go, with the last 3 being clear liquids. I've been working out (walking on the treadmill, taking my dogs for walks) and the scale has barely moved. I'm cranky like no other! Yes, I know I should not be concerned with the scale at this point, but jeeeesh I would think that as hungry as I am ALL OF THE TIME that I would be losing something. Plus, if I can get my BMI below 50 I don't have to pay the extra $1000. I'm soooooo close...my BMI is 51.77 right now and I would really hate to be going thru this misery and end up shelling out another grand for a couple of lousy points! Sorry...venting. The hunger makes me angry.

How are you feeling now? How much weight have you dropped?

Hi all. It's going ok, I have decided to start my pureed diet a few days early. According to the plan I was given by the Doctor I should start 3 weeks after surgery....well one of the papers said that I also have one from the Doctor that says start pureed foods 2 weeks after surgery. I find that I am getting alot of headaches, I spoke to my Doctor about this and she told me that I am probably not getting enough Protein in my system (I really can't stand the protein shakes) so I will start with one pureed meal a day and continue with the broth, yogurt etc and see how that goes. I do find that I am hungry, which kind of concerns me but at the same time I think it's ok because I can't eat a whole lot anyway. Has anyone else gotten the feeling of hunger ??
I have lost 30 lbs so far and I am excited to see what the future holds for me. We should have a one year anniversary party in Mexico to Celebrate all our hard work !!

I can certainly relate to the feelings that others are posting. As my surgery gets closer (Feb. 21st; Dr. Garcia), I'm in a swirl of emotions. Sometimes I'm excited and hopeful; other times I'm frightened at the prospect of surgery and possible complications. Throw in a dash of "how will my life change"...and you get the picture!
It helps a lot to know that Salsha and JeniM73 will be there, too (their surgery is the day after mine). We'll encourage each other to walk, walk, walk!

It is so great to hear from those of you who are weeks or months past your surgery in Mexico. I know that once surgery is done, your interests and concerns are about post-op issues, so some of the other forums are more informative for you. But I really feel that those of us who go to Mexico have a special bond... so it's nice to hear from the "veterans"!

I told my mother a few days before surgery. "Just thought I would let you know, I am having a bariatric surgery this Friday. Not looking for any dialog on this, but I know you would be upset if I told you about it after."
She had no choice but to accept it. If she were more extreme, as it may appear to be in your case, I probably would have waited and told her the first time I saw her, which would have been 3 months later with significant loss. She would have had no option but to see the results and be happy for me.
Sounds like you are in a no win situation. Get yelled at for having the surgery or get yelled at for not telling her about the surgery. Any way you look at it, you're going to get yelled at, so, I would prefer post-surgery b!tch session.

Totally understand. I'm generally a chocoholic but lately I just want a big plate of enchiladas with red sauce and sour cream. I about ripped my poor husbands head off for setting his bag of chips next to me during the game so that he could go get more queso. I bet he doesn't do that again! And I've got 17 more days of this. Seriously, how many more shakes can I put down before I find myself plowing my car thru the plate glass window of the closest all you can eat buffet down the street!

Being able to tie my tennis shoes with the bow on top, not on the side. I was going to try to explain this a little better but anybody who is overweight will completely understand.
