As we're sitting down to dinner last night, at a restaurant, with two foster sons we had for respite.....the youngest starts digging for gold. I pretend not to notice. But then I notice the table beside us noticing. And disapproving. So me being me, I decide to route for the underdog, and start giggling and ever-so-gently encouraging the treasure hunt.
The moral of this story is.....live and let live. Let people be who they are. And watch out for the really hard, crusty ones.

Plus I love the word moist. It's a lovely word. Lol

I've been out of surgery for 3 days! All I can tell you is to look at it little by little! Take 4oz every hour for sixteen hours per day! It's working so well for me! I can actually take it all in! Except for the 70grams of Protein, I can only do 23 for now but I'm imagining it will get better! Hang I'm there, you're on your way!!

I'll echo the rest of the comments. The first week is the toughest - it's all downhill after that. I also did much better with warm liquids. Good luck and hang in there!

The first week was tough but I expected it to be. I've had many more worse things in my life. Everything slowly and steadily got better. When you are forced to buy new clothing you will know how worth it the hardship was.

You need to relax. You just had surgery. You are not going to starve to death, I promise you are OK. Keep sipping. It gets better every day. One good tip I can give you is to have everything warm. When I was fresh out of surgery I could do twice as much warm Fluid as I could cold stuff.

Yes had sleeve done feel better now first 12 hours uncomfortable but as gas pain goes way better I have 6 incisions though and on pain killers. Op went well apparently by dr Audun siggurdson.

I work at a hospital took 6 weeks off

My pre-op diet was literally 24 hours. I do think it depends on the surgeon. Mine was all about eating as normally as possibly for as long as possible prior and returning to eating as normally as possible as quickly as possible after!

Doubt you have anything to really worry about. It depends on how strict your surgeon is about it. Some do long diets for a lot of reasons, some do shorter ones. Every Dr. does something different.

If u still have one week to go, and u stay on track from here on, I think u should be fine. My pre op is only for 7 days.

I haven't tried to fool anyone since I did card tricks for my granddaughter. I certainly wouldn't want to create a false impression about the pain of my operation, why would I? I personally think folks should not get this operation if they can get the same results from other actions but not because my operation was extremely painful for me. It was not.
Unfortunately, we are all different. There is a subjective element to all of the expressions we have of our experiences. Those who have had a painful, terrible time with this operation should speak without shame. Those who think it was a mild trial especially considering what the operation accomplished should also speak freely.
We can do no more than relate our experiences. We can't give medical advise so if anyone is trying to fool anyone it would be the medical people. They are the only ones with a motive. I trust mine, what they told me and the results of their work turned out just like they said. I am diminished by 1/3 of my original weight and in the best shape in 40 years. I am no longer in pain. They did their work, I did mine. My experience.
