well **** why did they go to med school if they have the ability to just look at someones face and can tell if something's wrong ! Idiot...
Don't mind them you know your body. And I think you have a very high pain tolerance. I would of felt like packing it in with much less!
    Hang in there.

I don't drink a lot (a couple a week) and I do feel like I will have a mourning period. My only comment is to be careful.
My good friend who had the sleeve learned pretty quickly he could drink vodka - chose it straight so no extra calories but he also learned - in his words - it anesthetized his stomach - he could eat anything because he couldn't feel it.
Set him back six months. He's back on track now.

I get a lot of prepared healthy foods. costco has some really nice healthy shrimp platters. Any store does really. I go to the store & get a rotisserie chicken, container of cut up veggies, salmon w pesto butter ready to be baked....different items that require less than 5 minute prep time.

What's a typical day look like for you? Share what you're eating. We are all different, but for me, short of a stressful event triggering head hunger, I found that incorporating a more balanced diet (a good ratio of protein/carbs/fats) really helped give me satiety and help me feel in control.
It didn't negatively impact my loss but it changed the mental aspect entirely for me.
So let's start there, if you're up to sharing.
Beyond that, know that this is a part of the journey for many of us. If we had easy relationships with food, we'd have skipped surgery altogether. It's entirely possible to get through this if you focus on changing.
I also had those periods where I couldn't lose easily and I couldn't seem to get past a certain point. It's actually not uncommon, even if it is frustrating. Sometimes our diet can help change things up. Sometimes we just have to wait it out, as frustrating as that is.

Perfectly natural to be nervous. I believe VSG will be the gold standard of bariatric surgery down the road. Your stomach works exactly the way it did before just smaller. I get full now on much less food - and have reduced hunger. Oh - did I mention I would NEVER have been able to lose the weight without this miracle surgery. Your health is the most valuable thing you have. You are making the brave decision to reclaim it. You are worth it and life is too short to be obese, sick, and unhappy. I have zero regrets and would do it over again in a heartbeat.

Cristin got a reaction from PdxMan in Talking about sex too soon? DATING
It depends on how you met online. A dating site is fine probably. Craigslist... Not so much. But I think great relationships can start online and sex is part of flirtation. Just be yourself and don't worry about anything but being honest with him.
And yeah, make sure the date is in a public place just to be safe. But this really is a new era. People meet online all the time.
Sounds really exciting and fun!! Just like you would want to do with any guy, don't let him push or pressure you into anything you're not ready for.
    And have fun!!!

I did the same thing and still haven't lost any more. I'm not sweating it and I'm just going with the flow. I'm doing things right and this is ahella lot easier than WW or even Adkins. Right now I'm ok with just getting healthier and eating right. Makes me feel 100% better. It took me 18 months to gain this weight and I don't expect to lose it over night
    Good luck

Vegan sources of Protein that I've liked have been:
    Chia seeds
    Quinoa
Vegan protein powders (blanking on the names, sorry!)
    Tofu
Gimme Lean vegan sausage is really good, too!
There are also vegan Peanut Butter powders out there (Just Great Stuff brand) and I add that stuff to everything. SO GOOD! That and avocado are my saving graces.

I've been a strict vegetarian for most of my adult life (more than 20 years). I am eating more dairy and eggs post-VSG than I did before, which I'm not exactly happy about, but it will do for now. As I get farther along in my journey, I may try to eliminate them or at least reduce my consumption.
For me, vegetarianism is a lifestyle and deeply rooted in my belief system--akin to others' religious beliefs. It is founded on kindness for all living things and a respect for all life (not just human life).
I do not eat cheeses that contain rennet. I do not wear or buy leather, wool, or silk. I do not eat things with meat stock, and I definitely don't eat Jello. I don't buy Protein drinks that contain Gelatin.
So although I am "just" a vegetarian and not a vegan--I consider this belief to be a huge part of my way of life and deeply rooted in my belief system. It comes from a love for animals--all animals--that I have had since I was a small girl and met my mom's friends who became vegetarians after watching pigs they had raised get slaughtered.
I don't think that vegetarianism has lost its meaning--to me it is more meaningful than ever.

When I go to Whole Foods I always pick up a salad bar box with edamame, quinoa, tofu, and various other tasty treats. I usually have it for several meals. I'm not a vegetarian, but the selection is always so fresh and delicious. I crave different things than pre vsg when I preferred chips and chocolate. Now I would much rather have cheese, green things, whole grains, fresh veggies and low fat dressings.< /p>

I'm expecting to deal with that. You'll be in mourning for the loss of food as a source of comfort.
Hang in there. I'd highly recommend asking your surgeon to refer you to a counselor specializing in bariatric patients.

Thanks to everyone for your support. You are all right. He should support me as a friend . And I need to do what's best for my health. Halving the surgery is the right choice for me. There is nothing "unnatural " about the surgery. People have surgery for lots of reasons. He is tall and slim and doesn't understand what it's like to be overweight and feel like crap because of it. Thank you again! I'm praying for everyone's safe surgeries!

The second day was the hardest, then the last few days were getting hard, I was on a full Liquid Protein diet. I was able to have one can of 98% fat free Soup each day, that was what kept me sain I think! Lol. On the good side I lost a total of 32 lbs though. Everytime I thought about eating something I would ask myself " is this food worth (maybe) getting my surgery cancelled?" The reply was always the same..... HECK NO. LOL

unjury is the best Protein powder nutritionally, but the only flavors that are good are:
chocolate (mix with Peanut Butter powder... AMAZING)
chicken Soup (mix with Water or chicken broth)
Unflavored (mix in broths, etc, to add protein).
The chocolate with Peanut Butter powder is so good, I actually crave it.
    Good luck!
