Just spent most of the day hiking with my family. Kids and I loved it. The hubby complained... Until we got to the waterfall!

The only food that I ever had problems with was eggs. It took a month or so before they didn't make me nauseous. Other than that, I haven't had a problem with any food. Since you are getting food at 4 weeks, I would suggest softer foods like steamed chicken or fish. No heavy sauces or pastas (I don't eat any white foods at all) no fibrous vegetables and minimal starches. Go slow, chew well, Proteins first. Remember the drinking rules.

Hey Fiddleman, I will be up there sometime in August, and would love to get a run in with you. It won't be fast I can assure you.

I finally replaced my running shoes a couple days ago. They were starting to cause bruising when I run and I must have put 500 miles on them from 6 months ago. The new pair is a twin of my older pair and works great for running, Cross fit and lifting. The key is to just use them inside in order to protect the bottoms from wearing down faster. I have my old pair for outside stuff that is not necessarily running. My running shoes are Nike Pegasus. Love them!

I gave up soda simply because it isn't a healthy option. I was a huge diet coke and diet dr pepper drinker, but decided that once I was sleeved, I would make every effort to be as healthy as possible. Don't need it in my world, don't miss it and feel that by ditching it, I am more healthy than if I kept drinking (even if I had a just a sip every so often, like so many on here do). Many on here feel that they are depriving themselves if they give up soda. I'm personally just the opposite, I'm depriving myself of good health by drinking it. So I ditched it. Your mileage may vary though....

^^^This x100!!!. I worked out as a fat ass and I work out now. Doesn't have anything much to do with losing weight It has more to do with being healthy. Even the smallest amount of exercise will increase your overall health and decrease your chance of significant health problems. I couldn't see me having this surgery without working out. Even if it is just a walk around the block, there's more benefit than just weight loss.

Hey I hear ya! I about chewed my key board reading the thread about people who lose all their weight and never exercise...that makes me nuts because I just about live in the gym and don't see a lot of loss. Someone really wise on here told me not to compare me to others (I was having the same disappointments as you are), so that's what I do, I worry about me only. The thing to keep in mind is that by losing slowly, you have a better chance of keeping it off AND you have less of a chance of having all that loose skin flopping around. Just trust your sleeve and follow your plan, it will happen.

So I don't think that drugs are going to help you. You've lost a ton of weight in a short period of time. What was your expectations? That always puzzles me when people say that they've lost a lot in a short period of time, but still aren't happy with the results. Keep in mind we didn't get fat overnight, and it isn't going away overnight either. Stalls happen. It is our bodies way of readjusting to the changes that we are putting it through. You'll break the stall, everyone does. I am a slow loser but I wouldn't think about taking drugs again. I'm in it for the long haul.
Hang in there, you'll get to where you want to be!

Probably way too soon for crunches. Your abdominal wall needs to heal completely or you risk a hernia. I'm 7 months (today) and I still have a bit of tenderness if I do a lot of sit ups. Also know that sit ups aren't going to do a lot for the skin issue.

I exercise for my health. If I lose weight because of it, that's an added benefit. The more calories you burn, the better your body responds and the better it functions. I am a slow loser and work out almost every day. I wish it was different, but it is what it is. I do know that I am more healthy and probably would not feel nearly as good if I didn't work out. I find it fun and relaxing to get a good sweat going.
