All of my December sleevers...
Yesterday I hit month 4 post op. I have lost 73 pounds so far. My weight-loss has been slowing down significantly. I was loosing 3 pounds a week for 2 months straight. this week I lost 1.6 lbs. last week 2.4. I have not been watching my food lately so I'm guessing that's it. Hopefully by next week I will be back on track. Writing down what you are eating is very important!

Cold feet!
You are doing this so you will have more energy to run around after that baby. So, you can live a long healthy and happy life. I have three girls and am down 72 pounds. I'm very happy I got the surgery. I have more energy now and am allot happier than when I was before the weight-loss It is tuff in the beginning but follow all the rules and you will do good. Congrats on your decision to have this surgery

cannot get under 258!
When you hit a stall it is time to look at your diet and exercise routine Are you getting in 60-70 g of protein? are you drinking 64 oz of water ? are you exercising 3-5 times a week? For the first 6-9 months you should only be consuming around 800 calories a day. And, carbohydrates less than 40 a day. This is what my Doc told me when I stalled. My calories were too high and so were my carbohydrates. Good luck Stay strong

Do you regret?
It can get a bit depressing sometimes. I usualy looked back on all the struggles I have had all my life with weight-loss and remember it will get better day by day. Your energy may be zapped due to not enough fluid intake . try to spice things up drink gatorade, powerade, iced tea, crystal light you have to find something you like to drink. My favorite for a while was powerade then i got sick of it and now am drinking lipton iced tea. Hang in there you are strong and this difficult time will pass. Make sure you are getting in enough iron and add b12 for energy. I have a iron pill that combines vit c iron b12 in one. When I don't take it I feel like a zombie! It will be worth it in the end try to stay positive you can do this

pain on stomach when I yell , touch , push?
I get pain on my stomach when I push ,lift , yell(at the kids lol) or touch my stomach. The pain is not inside my stomach. It feels like stabbing pain. I'm 3 months out could it be a hernia? I'm gonna contact my surgeon but wanted to see if anyone had this. thanks for the feed back

lunch ideas!
refried beans topped with salsa and cheese. Eat tortilla chip with it. Cheese sticks are a real good one. Tuna salad. garlic lentils (Boil brown lentils in water. In a bowl smash garlic. Add lemon to the garlic strain the lentil but leave a little water in them. mix lentil with garlic, lemon and left over water from boiling). You can eat it with Pita bread or top it over a salad. boiled eggs. Deli turkey. chicken breast. there's a lunch bag that stays cool for 10 hours its called Packit freezable lunch bag. The lunch bag is lined with gel so there's no ice packs. You fold the bag and freeze it. Google it. I'm gonna need one when I go back to school.

I'm kind of nervous about my surgery, does anyone have any advice?
I went to Mexico to get my sleeve with DR.Alvarez. I have been on an airplane many times. The hardest part is take off. I kept adavan with me just if I needed it to calm my self down. If you and your father are tight you should tell him. Me and my father are not that close and I told him .He didnt think it was a good idea and said that I was too young. I'm 24. I explained to him how difficult it has been and that I feel this is the solution and that was that. In the end its your body and you know how it feels to be so over weight. When I first woke up from surgery I was still pretty drugged up. My mom says that I was crying from my shoulder pain.( the gas they fill you up with during surgery can get stuck in your body and cause pain till it passes). I also remember it being pretty painful. they hooked me up withpain meds and within an hour it was all gone. It would come back and then I would call the nurse and she would give me meds. I had some acid issues that their medication didn't take away. So I went the next day to the pharmacy and bought some tums. Bring tums with you and gas x strips very important! I also started walking allot the next day. Every half hour I did about 3 laps. It really helped get the gas out. I think that excess skin is something you cannot run away from when you have gained a large amount of weight. I have allot of stretch marks and will definently need some plastic surgery for my stomach and chest. I'm hoping my thighs and arm shape up. Everyone is different though. My mom dosnt have any stretch marks on her stomach and when she loses weight she has no sagging. If you do end up with it you can have surgery to fix it even around your neck area. You can exercise drink lots of Water, exfoliate you body 2x a week and put firming lotion on daily(that's what I found on the internet). I don't believe that exfoliating and lotion help at all, that's just my opinion. I do agree with exercise ,weight lifting and staying well hydrated. As for the Dr.pepper I love DR.pepper I have read about people that do drink it post op. Its loaded with sugar and is not good for you. So, if you do drink it post op you have to wait a while and make it a once in a while thing. I also have read that soda/pop can stretch the sleeve. Take a sports bra that has no wire. Tums and Gas x Strips. Have your first week of Protein ready at home when You come back and water. There is a forum here with a list of things to bring to the hospital. I think its in pre-op. Congratulations I'm very happy for you and I wish you the best of luck. This surgery is awesome. It will be difficult in the beginning but stay strong and in no time you will be used to the new life style. Water, protein and walking are most important so you don't get dehydrated and sick. Good luck

How do you know when to stop?
Liquids usually I can drink allot When mystomach feels heavy I stop. When I eat solid food I get a real full feeling when I swallow the last bite I can. It takes time to figure out but you will get it eventually.
