  1. I have the same problem and deal with it everyday. I'm 5 months post op. I always eat with a fork and knife and cut everything very small and take each bite at a time. I TRY to chew 20 times before swallowing. Very often I use chop sticks to eat and that has really helped with slowing down. I chop what I'm gonna eat small then use the chop sticks to eat it. I got the chop sticks at the dollar store they had a four pack for a dollar.I also bought a scale on walmart.com the weight watchers one 18 dollars , its awesome. I weight my food and try to keep the total at 4 ounces so if I eat fast I'm not over stuffing. hope this helps
  2. Congrats so Happy for you I have .8 of a pound and will be in onederland to. Last time over 14 years ago can't wait!
  3. 200.8 pounds today .8 pounds and I a, in onederland
  4. to get a Tummy tuck and breast done weight less than my sister ( she was always the thin one) have my husband pic me up
  5. when i started searching wls I had 3 choices bypass which had long term mal-absorption problems and stretching of the pouch, lap band which was a foreign object in my already hypersensitive body not to mention it can slip , erode your esophagus, last was vsg , leak infection but no future issues. I made my final decision on what my future would be like with wls. everyone is different though. My Mom wants to get lapband because it is not permanent if something goes wrong she can reverse it. I think that's the scariest part about vsg its non-reversable. That is what I wanted a permanent solution that required little maintenance and complications. Good luck on what ever surgery you choose
  6. I'm 5 months post op. Have lost 87 pounds. I aim for 70 grams protein and 800 calories a day. 64 ounces water. I don't pay much attention to carbs.
  7. It will go away later down the road when you start to eat normal foods again. Keep drinking and count your ounces. Good luck
  8. Thank you I just really was shocked I had the surgery 5 months ago and every week I lost .this is the first time I lose a single pound. Im very happy with the weightloss and love the way I look now Just was really excited and expecting to be below 200 for the first time in 14 years and didn't expect not to lose at all. It will fall off I know just venting theres no one else that will understand other than you sleevers out there
  9. So, last week I was 202 and today is the big weight in tadaaaa I'm 202????WHAAAT? I felt bad when scale said that. I have never lost nothing at all in a week. Sometimes I loose less than 3 pounds which is my normal loss but not none at all? Plus my birthday is Friday 31 and I promised my self this will be the last year I tell my self I will be less than 200 on my birthday. I feel mad like what the heck I should be down at least a pound! I think maybe because I lifted weights on Monday This happened. Should I do cardio only just so I make my goal? Go on a liquid diet? I had not gone #2 so I I took milk of magnesium yesterday and went this morning but still 202? very upsetting I thought today would be the day I had my camera ready to take a pic of 199 on the scale! I guess I'll wait till Friday and weight again. MAN I'm ANOYED...
  10. I think a big part depends on how heavy you start out at. How old you are. How long you have been overweight. My highest weight was 300, but I usually hovered around 270-280 for about 14 years now and I'm 25. I'm currently 202 and have a little loose skin at my arms , my chest and stomach are bad and will definitely need a breast lift plus augmentation and a tummy tuck Thanks to being over weight and having 3 children. My thighs look fine thank god. I have not really exercised but am more active with my kids and move around allot more.I will be starting an exercise regimen Monday that will include weight lifting to help tighten the skin on my arms & legs. Also to prevent hopefully any loose skin after my last 50 pounds are gone.
  11. Definently need help for the first week to walk around get up and move. Water bottles close to the bed you will be staying on. tissue paper and pen to track what time your tacking your meds. some q-tips and hydrogen peroxide for your new belly button. Hand sanitizer. Good luck
  12. Google plastic surgeons in what ever state your in and thats how you will find out. Some have free consultations and before and after pics online.
  13. my sister were 5000
  14. I went with Dr. Alvarez. He has a website http://www.endobariatric.com/ , face book(lots of before and after pics) ,twitter, and youtube. Me and My mother went together .the hotels we stayed at were covered in the price of the sleeve 8700 and had two beds. I paid 1000 before going via the bank wire transfer and took the rest with me as a cashiers check. We stayed at two different hotels and had breakfast and lunch both of us free charge. At the hospital their was a large couch that she slept on internet and a fridge in the room. We brought some microwavable food for her in case she got hungry. theres also restaurants around the hospital you can go to.
  15. I experienced the same thing very scary, I still have it every now and then but not as severe . I am 5 months post and it is usually my sign that I need to up my fluids. It was very bad in the first month. Try to get all and if you can more than your liquid amount in daily. When you stand up do it very slowly this gives your heart time to change your blood pressure to accomidate the pressure of gravity on your blood flow. When I feel tierd and faint I first sit straight up(not leaned back) stand keeping my upper part of my body bent wait a few second then slowly bring my upper body to an upright position sometimes it works better than others. If you are too dizzy and faint lye straight flat down and drink at least 20 ounces of liquid then try in an hour to stand again. I remember when I went through this very difficult.Good luck , and I hope time passes quickly and you get back to normal it takes time But you can do this! Stay Strong and drink drink drink.
  16. Breakfast 6 ultra thin slices of colby cheddar jack cheese 240 calories 10 Protein half a burger with slaw and 3 fry's 249 calories 15 protein 1/2 cup foul(chick peas and fava Beans garlic and lemon) 110 6 protein Fiber one brownie 90 calories 1 protein chesters corn puffs 1 ounce 160 calories 2 protein
  17. I combine vegetables with my protein. example wrap turkey in lettuce leaves add tomatoes if you like it. 2 oz fish, chicken or beef strips with a 1/2 cup salad. Hummos chick pea dip with chicken and a little salad is good. Measure 2 oz of protein add 2 oz of vegtables. half half. You can also have any piece of fruit as a snack, apples ,cherries, watermelon.Having a food scale really helps :)for constipation I increase fluids and use myralax or milk of magnesium for constipation. lately I have been eating 2 fiber one brownies to get things moving. I put them in the freezer they taste better. Good luck
  18. I tell people I had the surgery and explain the actual surgery. Everyone thinks lapband is the only surgery out there or bypass. I like to tell people because I want other people that are overweight to be open to it and get a chance to change their lives. Even if the person is thin they might have a brother or sister that is overweight. Each person is different you may not want to share that with them if they are not close to you and theres nothing wrong with that. People that were crapy to me prior to losing I tell them that I exercise 5 times a week and eat healthy
  19. Today is my 5 month surgiversary. I have lost 86 pounds and over 67 inches total. Today is the first day I exercised. It felt great. I do move allot more now then before but actual exercise today was my first! 1 hour in the gym 30 minutes weights 35 minutes treadmill. I'm 2 pounds away from ONEDERLAND So excited about next weeks weigh in. I'm truly lucky and so grateful I researched like a maniac to find the right surgery for me and chose the sleeve :)I also went to a family barbecue yesterday and weighed less than my cousins that are younger than me! WOHOO they are 14 years olds lol It felt great, prior to loosing I was always the biggest! Good luck to everyone and if you fall off which I have(maybe 2 times) get your butt up and get right back on because there's no turning back! Love the sleeve
