I think the stall is the worst thing, it really does make you second guess what has just taken place. I'm hoping this shall pass...

I think that in the first few months, you really have to work hard at eating all the wrong things to not lose weight. Physically, there is only so much space in your sleeve for food, so it is almost a guarantee that you will lose. However, if you do not change your lifestyle by adding in exercise and completely change your food choices and eating habits, and eat the same way after surgery that you did before surgery, then the surgery will not work. It is merely a tool to get you started on a new path, but you have to put in the work and make many changes and sacrifices to see big and permanent results.

I totally agree...Yesterday I was doing Water aerobics and there were chicks who were all "dolled-up" and were looking for guys to meet...I'm like what happened to "happy hour" and why are spending some much money to be picked up...WEIRD!

Yeah, last night I succumbed to eating about 5 bites of ice cream. I'm 5 weeks out and on soft foods. Regretting it this morning with an upset tummy.
This surgery isn't for the faint of heart!

I remember about 4 weeks out when I was allowed to eat a little more I went crazy for a couple of days. Then reeled it in got back to basics (3 shakes a day sensible dinner) and then proceeded to loose 35 lb over the next 2 months. It just goes to show we can all fall off the wagon, its whether or not you get back on track that matters. My slippery slope seems to be a giant drop off cliff!

Then you learned a lot! I have discovered that me and simple carbs are NOT friends. They are like nicotine to me... Best if I just keep away altogether!

I was sleeved 7/10 and have lost 27# since 2 week preop diet prior. About 7# was lost preop. So, I started at 273 and I'm down to 247.
I am through the liquid and mushy stages and diet now is to consist of (3) 3 oz sizes Protein, (1) 2 oz size Protein, (2) 1/4 c soft veg, and (2) 1/4 c fruit. I'm taking nutrametrix multi, Calcet and Celebrate Calcium chews, (3) 1000 mcg B12 a week, protonix (PPI), Vitamin D 2000 IU. I am getting about 6 hrs of exercise in a week (Water aerobics and Zumba mostly).
I have tried some foods that I shouldn't, like popcorn, which is a total slider. My one buyers remorse so far is not knowing more about sliders. I did alot of research ahead of time. Lots of reading. Although I knew that the sleeve was just a tool and that I would have alot of work to do, I really didn't realize that so many of the foods I overate preop would not necessarily respond to the restriction and slide through. That will be a continuous challenge for me, but ... I don't plan on additional weight loss surgeries, and so I really need to make this work.

I hope it starts moving for you too. I think all of out problems are we focus on what other people do and lose the focus in ourselves. I have decided not to worry that other people have list 40 pounds in two weeks. I'd rather lose slow then fast. I'm assuming I hit my stall and now all I can do is lose.

I don't even count my calories I just eat what I can, on a soft diet now...learning how to eat slow...my body is teaching me with pain and discomfort. I just wanna say I think all you guys are doing great we are losing, some slow. Some quick, but its going bye bye, and not likely to return..yay

stamour1 reacted to angry in How do you know when your full
So this feels like a stupid question to me because everybody says you will know when your full but I feel like Im full when I start eating so I dont get it. I ate maybe 1/4 a can of cream of celery Soup tonight. I misread my directions so I did not add any liquid and I stopped eating it when I just didnt really want to eat anymore. I didnt want to eat it from the beginning though so Im not sure if that was the right time to stop. After every spoon I had to burp, but I never felt pain or discomfort, I didnt sneeze, hiccup, and my nose didnt run. I dont want to eat until I am uncomfortable but I guess since speaking to the nutritionist I want to make sure Im getting enough in.
