Paperwork submitted Dec. 7th.. My surgeon is Jonathan Taylor in Baton Rouge, la.. I can't get an appt to schedule surgery until I'm approved. I call every three days and I'm still pending. I was told by UHC coordinator because I don't have a surgery date could be the reason for the delay along with the holidays... Not a good feeling... This waiting game is driving me crazy

I think the best thing is to ignore her posts. Everyone knows you can't reason with a fool. She's a non believer now, but when that day comes and she meets her maker. She will surely regret it.

My surgeon won't set a date until Cigna approves. Today was the first day that I didn't call Cigna to check my status. I'm right there with you about "going nuts". The stress of waiting is horrible. I'm guessing Cigna is waiting until Jan 1 to give me an answer so that I have to meet my full deductible again before they will pay anything. If they make me wait a full month, and then deny me, I'm gonna be REALLY pissed! Grrrrrrr!!!!! Keep me posted! Hope you hear SOON!

Are you in BR, have you had the surgery, and I stay in the Glen Oaks area.

Nine months out, started at BMI of 39-something, almost 40. Originally set my goal at 150, then as I rapidly lost weight, felt that 150 would be just too thin and revised my goal to 160. My surgeon's office agreed with 160 as a good goal for me.
Yesterday I had my nine month checkup, and I weighed 166 on my home scale in jammies, 165 on the office scale fully clothed. I am really happy with my current weight. I do have loose skin and a small belly pooch because of it. If I had a Tummy Tuck, I am certain I would be at 160, but I'm not sure yet if I will take that step. If I do, it will be in a year or so.
Meanwhile, I think I have lost to the point I want to be! I fear that instead of my pooch getting smaller, my legs will just get skinnier and my butt will just get flatter! Husband and friends agree, as did the physician's assistant yesterday, it's time to stop losing! I go in Thursday morning for a Base Metabolic Rate to determine how many calories needed per day to maintain current weight.
Wow! It has really been a quick and easy journey! I have been so blessed to have sailed through the surgery, to never have hit a stall, to be able to eat almost anything I want and in portions larger than most can eat. I still truly love to cook and serve food, and I still truly enjoy food!

I was really trying to hit a 50 lb. goal by my 3 month mark, but I made it 4 days later! It's been an awesome experience for me, and I will never regret taking charge of my health. I was on a pretty heavy dose of medication for my blood pressure (80/25 Micardis HCT), and now I'm just taking one 25 mg HCTZ (Water pill) a day and keeping my blood pressure well under control. I have started Water aerobics 3 times a week (fun, fun, fun!!), and I really find myself getting out there more and more...making new friends and enjoying life.

Whoa. Hold up. Happyfam wasn't preaching to you, just saying not to give up as a solution could be in the near future. And her piece of advice about being careful with regard to financing costs was a valid one. Your response was overboard. I hope you can mull this over and realise that.

Oct 2011. I've been maintaining 143—145 for the past month, which I'm Happy about because my goal was 150. I was wearing a 1X shirt, 16/18 pants. Now I'm in S/M shirts, 7/8 pants. This tool is amazing! I hope you get approved. Good luck!

The fact that she posted here tells me that she wants the surgery, & is either looking for support, or a way to respond to her parents that will help them understand where she is coming from.

Go have your physician or Np look at it ASAP. Get their advise.
