Don't go and remember you can have it just not now. That will is what kept me sane through all of this. You will go to the movies and get to have popcorn. Just not yet, you want to heal well and stay safe. Don't do it stay strong

I was sleeved Monday as well. Yes the gas is reficulous. Even when i sip Water i get gas. But its to be expected for at least 6 weeks.
You will also feel lots of pain when moving r/t the large incision that they actually pulled the stomach out of.
Its hard but hang in there. We are sleeve sisters.

I was sleeved monday morning the first day i was in so much pain !it wasnt even the surgery it self The gas is horrible! It i walked and walk finally they gave me some kinda inflammatory meds which helped alot! Im doing much better now but still have some pain this time from the surgery . I also feel weak if i do to much .. Ive been eating popsicles and broth i even suck on beef Jerky !! Im so hungry or my mind is anyways when i see people eating i wanna rip out there hands and eat it!!! I feel like a zombie on Walking Dead!!! Lol from day 1 i started dreaming i was eating!! Every dream i have im eating haha im going to try and hold out until wednesday when i go for my first dr visit!

Rode any ride I wanted without fear of being too big. Walked over 10 miles while at the park and my feet did not hurt. Was able to walk through turnstiles head-on instead of turning sideways. Did not succumb to eating junk while in the park and found healthy options. It is definitely now officially the happiest place on earth!

Hi everyone! I was sleeved today at 10 am!!! Everything g went well. I was in the PACU FROM 12-8 though! Not because of me--the hospital didn't have any open beds all that time. Luckily. The nurses were nice and the meds were good.
I have some discomfort now but no pain. I feel much better than I thought I would. Yay!!!

Do you know what Victorias secret is? It's that they don't carry anything over a size 4! Even after losing over 100 lbs and getting into a size 8, I still couldn't find anything in there that fit me!
Yeah for getting rid of the granny panties! used to buy the 6 pack of Hanes Her Way at Walmart (cotton briefs). No more. I buy the single panties (luv boy shorts the most) at Penneys or Khols (usually I'll hit a sale like 5 for $20). They're more expensive that the 6 pack at Walmart, but they make you feel so much better about yourself!

I'll admit it...I'm looking forward to cute panties that fit well!!

On June18 2012 I had the sleeve done. I was released the next day and was feeling pretty good. By the 10th day post op, I was not able to keep Water down. I went to the Dr. He sent me to the ER. He called down to the ER and told them what tests he wanted ran. Needless to say, I had a leak. I was admitted into the hospital and my Dr. took me into surgery to repair the leak. I woke up in intensive care with a feeding tube. 2 days later I was told I had to go back into surgery because they discovered an abscess. On to surgery I went. I was in the hospital 39 days. I was finally discharged, feeding tubes and all and so happy to go home. I was home for one week. I still could not keep anything down. I was very dehydrated and was in the hospital for 2 more weeks. Over the next month I was in and out of the hospital for dehydration and severe pain. In August I was admitted again for dehydration, pain and nausea. The feeding tube was removed and a picc was placed. I was then put on TPN (total Protein & nutrients) feedings. Admitted again in September after my daughters wedding. This time a fistula was found. Another surgery and feeding tubes were placed again along with TPN bags. I was so depressed. I was not getting better, I got worse. I was in the hospital from Sept 13 to December 10th. In the middle of the night I had a hematoma. Throwing up blood. Caused my spleen to enlarge and become infected. Dr felt that stent was necessary. So one was pyt in. On thanksgiving morning I had to have my spleen removed. The stent slipped and had to be replaced. The 2nd stent was horrible and that had to be removed a few days later. I was in the hospital a total if 116 days from end of June to Dec 10 2012. Still unable to eat, nausea 24 hours a day feeding tubes in place. My Dr could not figure iut what to do. He called other Drs. mayo and other states. I was discharged and losing weight rapidly. In January of this year I was admitted again. Severly dehydrated and still nausea. After 27 days in hospital a 3 strnt was placed. 1week later it had to be removed. In Feb. my Dr called the Cleveland Clinic in Weston FL for a second opionion. On March 1st my husband and I made the 7 hour drive. I met with the Dr there. I was sent down for uppet gi. Funny.... they found the problems immediately. I was scheduled for surgery on the 14th. I had to have the remainder of my stomach removed, my small intestine was cut and pulled up to my esophagus and attached. Plus the inflammed scar tissue had to be removed. It had been a ling 10 month journey. I have lost 94 pounds, and 10 sizes smaller. I am still not able to eat real food. I eat mashed potatoes, yogury, smoothies, applesause, popsicles, cream of wheat. I do test the waters with some soft foods. Somethings stay some don't. Dr. said It could be 6-8 months before I can tolerate food due to all surgeries. I am also battling a stomach and urinary tract infection for the last 5 weeks. Would I do it all over again. Probably not... however... I did it because my husband has a rare cancer ( due to exposure from agent Orange from Vietnam). He lost his leg and is wheelchair bound. I truly wanted to be healthier to care for him. But he is caring for me now. Please take your time. Research, ask questions, follow your heart. Dont ever let anyone make you feel that you are bothering them. Its your life and you are paying for this procedure to be done. I can sue. I've done a lot of soul searching and even tslked to attorneys. The end result.. I want to live. I want to get better. I want to eat again. 2) I can squat without feeling like my eyeballs are going to fly out of my head
3) Tons more energy

1) no longer have to cross my legs when I sneeze or cough!
2) I can have sex in any position instead of just doggy.
3) I get hit on again by men ( sometimes even women )
Sorry for tmi....but it's the truth!

1. No longer have to wear poise pads
2. Feel full with so little food even when I am so hungry
3. Keep up with my friend when walking

Hello all Im new to this site I found it by accident while looking up info about the sleeve..I have to say Im so thankful I did! theres so much info on here ! I was undicided about trying to see if I could get the sleeve done ..The more I read everyones post the more Its made me really want it.. Everyone on here looks great healthy & happy !! II want that for me too.. but i have a question has anyone out there had any problems with underactive thyroid or hypothyroids???? Have you lost the weight? is it harder to loose? Can the sergery still be done? Ive been on levothyroxine for the last 2 yrs my thyroids are stable now but Im still over weight ! My metablism is like molasses..I just want to know anything I can about this procidure. thanks

Just had my surgery today and everyone has been so caring and so wonderful
Pain has been a little more than I thought and gas has been a problem. But I just got dilaudid injection so I'm gonna try and sleep.< /p>

I am from Buna, north of Beaumont. We have 3 red lights and 4 sleevers.lol

Had my sleeve today at 7:30 in morning doing great no pain and doing laps around hallways. Hoping tomorrow goes just at smooth
