  1. As you will read on this site, there are a lot of reversion from the band to the sleeve. I researched for over a year. Today is one month and I am down 28 pounds. I am off medication already and life is much easier weighing almost 30 pounds less:) Good luck to you!

    Peanut Butter

I eat a half of a whole wheat English Muffin with peanut butter. It has fiber which is a bonus and 11 g of protein. It was on my list of things to try. It takes me 30 minutes to eat it. LOL Do whatcha gotta do:)
  3. I cancelled my Lane Bryant Credit Card today. Good feeling. I appreciate LB for what they had for me back then. But I am ready to rediscover new things. Can't wait!!
  4. There are about 3 in the Waterford area that I know of. I also know if you are looking for fancier clothes there's a really nice one in Birmingham. I also heard that there is one in West Bloomfield that's pretty good. If you need more info let me know:)
  5. Sleeved 9/4.... I only lost 8 pounds prior to surgery because I found out I was having surgery 8 days before. As of today, I am down 20 lbs since the day of my surgery. I am starting to eat solid foods. I really like fish. It's the easiest way for me to eat enough to get protein. I was getting the "slimers" but really have worked on eating slower and chewing more. I am still not quite to 60g of protein or 60 oz of liquids but I work on it every day. I think this was harder than I expected but it seems to get easier. If I could just stay off the scale every day that would be good. It's exciting to see the scale go down every single day. Like hearing how everyone is doing. Keep up the good work!
  6. Nothing is worth having if it's easy. You might not have an easy path but it will make the reward that much sweeter. Good Luck:)

    New And Scared

I had surgery earlier this month. I also had type 2 Diabetes. I was taken off my medicines already. It makes me so happy because I was concerned about my pancreas. The medicine I was taking was very hard on my body. I did not have as easy time with my surgery as some of the others on this site. In fact I go back to work tomorrow after a month off. Overall I am so happy that I had the surgery. Knowing the difference between the RNY and the sleeve ahead of time should put you at peace with your decision. Good Luck to you:)
  8. What kind of vitamins and chews are you taking? I had to switch both in order to not get sick. I am bummed because I wasted money but if I couldn't take them then they were no good for me. There's a vitamin that you can add to water which didn't work for me but it might work for you.
  9. I just tried and really enjoy a protein shake called ProJoe. I found it on the Bariatric Advantage website. 20 g of protein. I have only tried the Chai but it's got a coffee vibe that gets me thru the day!
  10. I had went to my PA for 17 years and thought of her as a friend. She was against any sort of WLS. She lost 88 pounds on Weight Watchers and thought that anyone else could lose weight on Weight Watchers. I started my 6 months of office visits with her where every time she chided me about my decision. It ended in tears most times. I called my insurance and inquired about changing doctors. Once they gave me the okay I asked for advice from my friends and changed doctors. I felt like I was breaking up with a boyfriend when I left my PA. I have a new doctor who has encouraged me these last three months and I had my surgery earlier this month. Since my previous PA told me that these surgeries never work for anyone, I look forward to showing her that they do. To be honest, it has given me drive. I want to be an advocate for someone changing their life. I really wish some drs wouldn't be so close minded. I firmly believe that my surgery saved my life, at least adding some years to my life. Good Luck to you! You know what's best for you.
  11. Hello Fellow Sleevers!! I have been reading for a while but never really thought I had anything to say. I had my sleeve surgery on September 4. I had an allergic reaction to pain killers and was sick for a while. I proceeded to be sore from vomiting and very weak for my first two weeks. I followed my diet and drs instructions like a good little girl. On day 14 I started pureed foods and started having problem vomiting. It's been pretty steady and bad. Still felt weak. Frustrated. Fighting a depression. Wondering why? A few days ago I believe I turned a corner. My spirit is coming back. I have returned to work after 20 days. I am finally eating on a regular schedule. And being on a schedule has made it easier to drink more liquids. I am excited to get more gym time. I finally feel like myself. My husband said my confidence is coming back. That made me very happy. Just wanted to let you know that if you get feeling down because of lack of energy, nausea, or depression....just keep going and you can turn a corner too:)
