Got the lapband in October 2008.  It was all the rage and I just knew it would work -- I didn't want to turn 40 obese.  Fast forward to April 2016 and I was over 300 lbs, just back from vacation where everyone had to wait on me.  I attended a WLS seminar at Baptist Hospital East, where my cousin had gotten the Sleeve and lost over 200 lbs.  In August 2016 I had my lapband removed.  My intent was to convert to a Sleeve 3 months later but I decided to "give myself another chance".  Over a year later, back from another exhausting vacation, I start the process again.  This time intending on the gastric bypass.  I'm entering my last month on my medically supervised diet.  I have an EGD scheduled for this Friday.  We should submit for approval mid January.  I'm excited, tired of waiting and second guessing myself.  I've chosen the bypass because I rarely see anyone needing to convert from bypass to another surgery due to lack of weight loss.  I have seen that with the Sleeve.  I just don't want to have to have another WLS surgery a few years from now.  After the bypass, I want my next surgery to be a boob job or something like that!
