Still have two wounds that are a tiny but tender but I am most impressed at the neat job the surgeon did . Looking forward to going home to my own house and being able to cook my own soups etc in my own environment .
  7. My so call friend had a real dig at me before I had my surgery by telling me if she couldn't loose weight herself without cheating then it wasn't worth doing . I also got heaps of crap about shortening my life etc etc most of the time it's actually just jealousy talking and really it's their problem not ours .

  15. Well I was so excited to get a surgery date . I really wanted it this year , before Christmas and now I'm really scared and want to back out . I'm scared of the pain of the surgery , I was actually ok until I had my appointment with the anaesthetist today. I've had three yer to get myself mentally prepared for this . Some of his off hand comments have unsettled me . He asked about the state of my veins as " big girls like me " usually have notoriously trouble some veins . He also told me the surgery would take 4 hours and that I would be on morphine for 24 hours . Is that normal ?
  16. Hi, I started my journey three years ago then I found out my health Insurance wasn't going to cover it. I then managed to break my ankle clean off my leg, so delay after delay here I am 3 years later going through it all again. I already passed the pschological testing so two weeks ago I went off for the endoscope and the dietician appointment. I live 600 ks away from a major hospital so to go there its a big deal. When i saw the dietician after the endoscope she recomeded that i start on the Optifast shakes i have too replace two meals a day with the shakes and then have dinner that includes 150g of Protein and 2 cups of a very select group of vegetable, no fruit, no potatoes, nothing with starch. I am really struggling with this but ive been told I have to do this for six weeks. At the six week point (4th October) i get to go and see the surgeon and the dietician again too see what they have to say. I am really hoping its not going to take another six weeks or longer for the surgery as I would have to stay on the diet for another six weeks. It's starting to mess with my head , did anyone else have to go through this?
