  1. At first I was getting a crap load of compliments on my hair. "Your hair looks great!" Umm. Thanks, but I don't think it's my hair, I think it's the missing 30 lbs. lol.
  2. Hoping a vet or two is lurking here, since I can't post on their page ... I'm a year out, and have been in maintenance for about 3 months ... I'm still cold. All. The. Time. I have the heat set in 73 and everybody else is walking around nearly naked while I'm in sweats and under blankets. STILL. When does this regulate? Get better? Stop?? (Lol, please tell me it does).
  3. Height 5'9" High weight 235 Surgery weight 215, 1/18/13 Goal weight was 155, reached 7/4/13 Currently 145 and holding since 9/16/13 I'm a 36 year old female.
  4. Guess I should find a specialist? Gastro doc, or sleeve surgeon?? I went to Mexico for surgery, so I don't have a doc. Also, this has happened a total of 3 times over the last month and a half or so. I don't think it's an emergency, but may well hit the er the next time it strikes ...
  5. I'm hurting on the left, though.
  6. Hi all, I'm occasionally experiencing excruciating left side, right below my rib, pain. This is so bad, I begin to sweat, feel disoriented, and have shortness of breath. I'm shaky and feel drained for hours afterward. Anyone ever experience anything similar? This has happened 3 times in the last month, and I'm curious.
  7. Had to share, so excited!!! Not sure I'm stopping?!
  8. Damn ... Hottie!! # where u from?? Lol.
  9. I read here somewhere a similar story, and it turned out the lady's thyroid had just all the sudden stopped. Might want to get some blood work done.
  10. I gained 2 lbs the week I went on regular foods. I attributed it to the fact that I was not getting many calories at all prior to that. I really struggled to find Protein drinks that I could tolerate, therefore, I was hardly getting anything. I stalled there for one week, but since then I've continued to drop about 2lbs per week. I haven't treated this like a diet at all. I've not measured anything or prohibited anything that I'm not willing to do without for the rest of my life. If I avoid food that I will someday want and will eat again (my definition of diet), I will only gain it back. I look at it as my way of life now. My rules are only these: Clear fluids, as much as I can drink, all day long. Protein first - and I'll admit that when I pay attention to the grams of protein the scale moves faster. Fruits or veggies next. Carbs absolutely last, and I generally don't have room for them. As of today, I've lost 39 lbs since surgery 1/18. My starting Bmi was 32.
  11. My surgeon sent us home with toradol for pain!! I hear what everybody is saying, because my mom has gasteroparysis (sp?) from taking Celebrex every day for 10 years (lupus). But, I was sent home from the hospital with toradol, so I'm finding it hard to believe that I can't pop two Advil occasionally.
  12. *treated* not grated. Lol. Although that also got on my nerves ...
  13. I was sleeved on 1/18 in Mexico ... My Bmi was 32 at that time, but I was also being grated for high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and I am high risk for developing diabetes. I'm not yet at goal, but now only 20 lbs from it!! I haven't been this small (size 14) since my early 20s. Lol. I'm just so happy about all this!!
  14. My BMI is 25!!! Okay, so it's 25.9, but I'm still so excited!!
  15. I went alone to Alvarez, and I did just fine. One piece of advice for those traveling alone though, Pack Lightly!!! I thought I had, but I still had trouble lugging my back pack through the airport. Lol. I also met another lady having surgery the same day as I did, and that was great!
  16. I was sleeved 1/18. Lost 19 lbs the first 10 days, and have been stalled since. I'm not doing a very good job with fluids. Highest I've gotten in is 48 oz.
  17. I'll second the pass on Paxil. I gained 30 lbs on it and demanded to be switched. I take lexapro now, although I've heard similar things about it.
  18. Finally made it! A few minor delays, but home sure is nice!! I felt better today, but tired now. Hopefully tomorrow will be good! Hope you had a good day today as well!
  19. I felt like it helped too. I may be crazy, but it felt just a little bit heavier, like it was pushing the gas in the right direction! I wish I was home. Just now getting ready for the airport!
  20. You make it home okay? Let me know how you are!
  21. I know this has to be repetitive, but I'm 3 days out and praying for the gas pain to leave. How much longer?
  22. I'm scheduled 10/26 with Dr alvarez????
