is there anyone else who does NOT own a scale?
I hate the scale. It never controlled my life when I was fluffy and does not control my life now...It is a good one I own..One of those hospital ones that tell the truth...I did not use it all the time I was losing. Only weighed myself at Dr. appointments by staff. Never had a stall and never had a gain and was always happy at weigh in. Look we have enough addictive habits already. Why turn in a new one.... I think everyone should take a sledge hammer to them so that they can be happy all the time and not obsess about lbs. verses good health and well being!

"Why don't you just diet and work out?!?"
No one has ever said that to me...I think because I would not be a very nice person if they did.....Just smile and walk away...Or you can bitch slap them for minding your business and not their own...lol

beyond frustrated
PLEASE, please, please stop weighing yourself. Your body is yo-yoing because it has gone through so much. You did not mention which WLS you had but it does not matter. There is stress on your body. It is trying to heal. Removing the meds and junk they gave you at the hospital and trying to figure out what you have done to it. Your body was used to compensating for anything you threw at it. And now you are throwing healthy good food at it and it doesn't know what to do with it. Let your body have its rest periods. It is doing it to protect you. It always has. Now we want instant results from it. Stay on track. Your body will feel safe again and you will start to lose again... PUT THE scale away for now and watch how you feel and how your clothes fit..okay...Give your body time to catch up to the new changes and the new you that is emerging!!!!

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Dr. Oz and Nutritional Supplements - Must Watch!
You can simply apply this bull shit to just about every product that is endorsed by big business. This man is now becoming dangerous like others before him. Started out just trying to help and then greed and his own voice made him into a lying two bit hustler like all the others with no regard for human health or well being! Time for Dr. Oz to leave. I know I would hold the door open for him! Will they ever wake up!

Is this even possible?! Frustrated!
I was stuck in a size 20 for what seemed like forever...then all of a sudden it was 18 then 16 then 14..you get the drift! Just keep swimming!

What is taking so long?
2 lbs a week is 2 lbs a week...Where is the problem with that!? There are a lot of people who would give their right arm for that to happen. Please do not be tied to the scale. Stay on program and weigh in less often. Like only at the doctors office. This is about health and well being..Not about numbers or what the scale tells you. How do you feel? How are your clothes fitting you. Any NSV even small ones....Those things tell the real story not I lost 2 lbs this week!

7 Month Surgiversary Surprise!
Careful with reducing your caloric intake..Because if you cut down too much and esp. Protein..Your hair may fall out again. Also your body if it feels stressed will shut you down until it feels safe again.... This is not a numbers game. This is about health and well being....That is what we are aiming for..All of us. The scale can be a fickle friend. And as a matter of fact..is!

Only 25 lbs lost in 6 weeks
That is 4.16 lbs a week....Why is that a bad weight loss. Why are you tied to the scale. Your looking at self sabotage if you weigh yourself too much. Consider how you would feel if you gained 4 lbs a week..Horrible right! Technically with traditional diets you are suppose to lose less then 5-6 lbs a month. Don't do this to yourself. If you stay on course you will lose all your weight...Please don't set dates for yourself and set reasonable goals as well. this is not a race this is another part of your journey. Enjoy it Okay!!!! There will be bumps along the way but you will succeed!

HELP Scared only lost 5lbs in a month.
This is one of the main issue that we have with WLS. We expect the weight to just fall off constantly. It does not happen that way after a few months ( honeymoon period ) You should feel really good and proud of yourself for losing any amount of weight. It is all good. 1 lb or 20 lbs! As long as you are going down who cares....Your health and well being are the most important issue here. Your adding anxiety to your journey that does not need to be there.... Put the scale away and look at your clothes and how you feel as a measuring stick....The scale is our enemy most of the time.... Like you said you are still on track...Stay there and the weight will move again...But the scale needs to be out of the picture until you are at maintenance... No one ever listens to me regarding that. I only get weighed at the Dr. office.... Now that I am at goal I weigh about every 2 weeks when my hubby forces me too. He is worried that I will lose more weight...lol

Terrified
Until you are ready for this life saving procedure and it is your last option. I would not do it. You have to be fully committed to it and that means that you have to be prepared for anything that might possibly happen to you in regards to complications and limiting yourself with food and retraining your brain to learn how to deal with all of it...And especially your reasons for overeating and using food as your go to when you need comfort... I am a girl who had a lot of complications with WLS. But I was also at a point where it was my only option....You need to step back and really take some time to figure it out, whether you are ready or not! That's what I would do in your case!

I did it and I Loved it!
I was invited to speak at a seminar and said yes. Well it was yesterday and I loved it. I not only got to talk about my complications which I kept to a minimum but also got to talk about some of the issues that we have all gone through and were not prepared for. That was the best part. They clapped several times for me during my talk and after some came up to me and thanked me for my honesty and helping them make the decision to have the surgery. One girl was banded in 2010 and never reached her goal. She told me that because of what she heard from me today she knows she has the strength to finish the journey and learn to maintain.. Some called me strong and brave...I was just so happy to be there and talk about WLS. It was a privilege I have been looking forward to since I was a woman at a seminar hearing another woman's story.... They asked me if I would do it again. Speak at a seminar...And of course the answer was Hell Yes...!!! You have to be at goal before you are invited and I am there....It was a real NSV for me. It is the beginning of my desire to help others take this life saving opportunity!

Do you think your life would have been better or worse without WLS?
I would be dead if I did not have this surgery..And I am not kidding..Even with all the complications..I would have died without it!

VSG & Hormones
It was an emotional roller coaster for me and most who have had this surgery. Everything in your body is changing and expect more of the same. Even now after 19 months I still have mood changes because of the changes I have made..Or I am just a moody person...No that's not it so it must be because of all the changes in my body..Don't fight it..But don't hurt anyone either...lol

Is it safe to dye my hair? (6 months post opt)
Six months..Go for it.......I bet you'll feel better too!

Get ready to rumble!
If you can...Dilute the G2 1/2 and 1/2 with water. It will have the same affects okay!
-
Get ready to rumble!
You know what..There is no need to be sorry for asking questions on this forum. That is what we are here for....okay! Secondly, Seems to me that you are right on target. Everything you are feeling is normal for where you are in your journey. DO NOT stop drinking the G2 okay. It hydrates your system plus keeps your electrolytes up so you don't end up in the hospital with an IV. Diarrhea normal at this stage. Lots of meds coming out of the body still and that is the way it is removed. Do me a favor...Stay off the scale for a bit..At least 2 more weeks....Then only weigh in once a week if you must...All your going through is hard on your body and it is trying to protect itself from the trauma.

NSV for me!
You really need to up date your stats..Congrats on your NSV!

Ok this is bugging me
Does no one get it. He lied about removing her lap band. He did not inform her of the hernia procedure ( When she had the test ) She was not informed about the fact that she had one or not. The staff was horrendous to her. And there are flags going up all over the place. This doctor lied to her about her lap band. I think it is all about money. Now that so many are going elsewhere to have their sleeve done they are getting desperate for clients. I would question everything he did and my care if all of this happened to me. Thank god you have had no complications..Some surgeon in the states would have to take that on. Even though you had the surgery by this guy....Personally folks I would rethink about my surgery with this doctor. I think he is now in it for the money and to hell with the patients comfort. I would go back and get more info about having the lap band removed earlier. If it was..Then what else did he lie about.....Fishy if you ask me...He would be scratched from my list as a potential surgeon if what she says is true.......

Discouraged and Heartbroken.
I am so sorry Lisa. There is no words to describe the pain you must be feeling right now.....To lose such a special person is life changing on its own. May you find the strength to go on and keep the fond memories of him close to your heart. My heart aches for you!

9 Months and 126 Pounds Lost - with pics
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not even been to the appointment yet.....
The entire reason I personally chose the sleeve over the by-pass was because of food break down and absorption of nutrients. Having the food go into the stomach gives you a chance to start the break down process where as your bowels break it down yes, true but the stomach does the acid and does break down the food somewhat. then as it enters the small intestine it breaks down more and last but not least the large intestine takes what's left and then sends it out the shoot.....

Chewing gum
Gas and pain. It also gets the acids working to break down your food which is not there......
