  1. I too have had the roux-en-y surgery almost 2 years ago... Today they use it to fix un-repairable leaks with the sleeve surgery... It is wonderful to see a vet from so long ago and still in charge of their health these many years. Gives me faith that i too will be able to keep the weight off for the long run..Thank you for posting!
  2. Thank you...your comment touched my heart....
  3. It has been my pleasure to be here and esp. Help others as I was helped...And I will still need to have reminders about maintenance as well. It is a never ending story!
  4. Not really. Still have a drain hanging from my side but it is what it is!
  5. Bet your nervous and excited all rolled up into one.....That's the way it should be..I remember being there and how excited I was. But nothing is more exciting then losing the weight and being healthy......Congratulations on your upcoming journey!

  7. I thought I would post my goal pictures. I have not had plastics yet...I wore this outfit to the seminar I spoke at last week.. Here goes! See my hubby..Isn't he cute!!!!!!!!
  8. Hey I'm still here.... When I am not in the hospital I am here trying to help everyone I can.. Please don't count me out yet!!!!!!
  9. I am a girl that 19 months later I am still having complications due to my decision to have WLS. Do I regret it...NO!!!!!!!!!! I am at goal and living large. So I can't eat that much or binge eat anymore. To me that is a plus. I have learned to control my eating and I am so happy I have my sleeve to be there for me when my favorite foods are dangled in front of me.. When I was young I lost all my weight and then gained it back and set into motion a life style of gaining and losing until I ballooned at 381. Oh no it has not been easy and it never will. But you decided to catch it young and not suffer what a lot of us have suffered at the hands of other people and our own failing health. So you can't binge any more. I think you need to really adjust that brain of yours and realize that partying that way is not normal...It is abnormal. food and alcohol are your untrustworthy lovers. They will hurt you and leave you feeling worse then when you indulged.. Everyone gets buyers remorse...Common. Work past that and get it together. You can't fail. It is not an option now... Do it..Retain your brain and go forward. Live a long and healthy life from here on through. I wish I could have had this option as young as you. But hind sight is 20/20. Just keep swimming. You will only fail if you allow yourself to fail...okay!
  10. You have come so far...why are the 15 lbs killing you....what did you have to lose in the first place....This is not a race hun. This is your life. Enjoy the ride and be proud of all you have accomplished and keep your goal in front of you but not the controlling factor in your life. As long as you are on the program..It will happen. Maybe not today but maybe tomorrow.....meanwhile look yourself straight in the eye and tell your brain how far you have come.......
  11. I just did my pre-op diet alone. My son in law could not handle watching me drink that for required success. You got this follow the plan. Your doing bad...... Nope to me is that you are keeping it real.
  12. I really try not to beat people up you know....not many did it to me when I needed support! I do however have a bad day here and there. @@Shells_Almost_There There are plenty of others sweetie that can be there for you all!!! okay!
  13. These people who made these remarks were not right....The little rodent of a father taught his son that it is not okay to be different and that he did not have to show respect to his elders or to anyone if he felt he was superior to them..... You are right the choices are yours. And how you deal in the journey is yours as well. For your health and well being I salute you! Keep us informed about your story and please. See yourself as a better person then those who thought that fat shaming would make them feel better. Sad state indeed! Your story touched my heart! Yes you are owning it..Go girl go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. You can bet your life that was a NSV. You kicked it! Congrats!
  15. Good thing you didn't put this on Rants and Raves because I have to monitor that site....hehehehehehehe
  16. I apologize if my words were to strong and I hurt the OP. it was not my intention to be a smart ass. Sorry! @@JillC878
  17. I already replied to this on your status......Smash that dam scale and concentrate on issues like well being and good health...You really need to get it together. 81 lbs since January... Just erased the status reply! Change your brain set and how you look at food and weight loss.....And don't compare yourself to others..Your body will lose at its own pace! Not what you think it should..
  18. this brought tears to my eyes...I am soooooooooo proud of you and I don't even know you.....Please do me a favor. Put the scale away and if you have to weigh yourself once a month until you are at goal. The scale is our enemy and can sabotage us into thinking we are failing the program. Happy days are coming in leaps and bounds for you. Don't let numbers ruin that for you....Congratulations on your NSV!!!!!!
  19. 19 months ago i started my journey 1 lb heavier then you...you got this kid..Kick ass and take no prisoners!
  20. Just keep swimming.....Your in it to win it!
  21. Dam..You took it to the top girl! You look awesome!
  22. Because of all the complications I have had because of my choice to have WLS. i have been sorta thrown into the lime light somewhat in my area. It is like a big closeted thing here. Don't let anyone know and don't ever talk about it. I can't find anyone in my area who even had WLS. How can you support each other when you are told not to even talk about it.. I have been sleeved. I did not break the law. I decided to get healthy the only way I could..As I tried it all their way before.....People are so unbelievably ignorant of the facts. They want to keep the funds in their pockets as well and keep society quiet about what is available for them. It bugs me to no end.. When I was sleeved the extra mural talked down to me because they had to look after me for a while. I won each and everyone of them over with my story and my progress. Not to mention my positive attitude despite the complications. My choices were limited and I am so glad I had it done for my health. Because it worked! Even with the complications The surgery did its part ! And I am doing mine.... I love my sleeve and am proud of myself for doing it..And proud of every one else who is considering it or have done it...The sky is the limit..Yours for the taking...And it feels awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
