  1. That was my most severe dumping attack to was with ice cream..I am never even eating ice cream again..It is off the list of food for me forever.....Can't go through that again over ice cream... yikes!
  2. Sorry @@MichiganChic that was never my intention....
  3. I bought several flavors of pop tarts recently (I had a coupon) and when I was unpacking the groceries, I realized I haven't eaten one in over a year. Instead of trying one (I looked at the carbs and decided not to have one) I packed them up and mailed them to my daughter in Korea (she has 5 kids) I do treat myself once in a while with a goodie but find that I pay for it with dumping. Just yesterday I had a sample size (2 oz) of ice cream (double chocolate fudge) and dumped the rest of the evening. I hate the racing heart, hot flashes and nausea. I am obviously still learning what I can treat myself with and what I should skip all together. Ice cream is the worst thing for me to eat as well. i can't even take one bite then I spend the rest of the night in the bathroom like you. There are other things as well that do not sit well with me and I stay clear.... Not interested in paying that price. I have never had a problem with staying away from things that do not sit well with me....I tried a red velvet cupcake once and I was not even able to swallowed the first bite. Out is came and that was the last time I tried a piece of that. I am not promoting sugar intake or treating yourself as a form of reward..But that we have to use balance in everything we eat. If it does not work for me I never touch it again.....I wasn't worried about the back of the box. I did not even look at it. It is part of real life to have a treat just because you want it. Not because you deserve it or need to have it....
  4. Yeah he's a hoot! I posted the picture of the deed...I did enjoy it and it was good. Now days later they sit abandoned in my snack cupboard. Oh yes I have one...It is all nutritionally sound foods....And pop tarts!!!lol
  5. It is wonderful that you are already doing the work to change your brain and not just your food thinking. Oh boy is it work but it is so worth it if you can put it all in order and come out the other side successful. So far I am enjoying it but will always try to stay on guard against relaxing for more then a treat or two...
  6. I'm glad we were able to connect the dots you and I.
  7. Oh no! I didn't mean to say that YOU were saying that! I'm sorry! Someone else said you deserve it and it made me realize that's what I always tell myself, and it's bad for me . :-) glad you enjoyed your treat. Thank you for your reply.. Always good to hear what you really mean......Your a peach!
  8. With my new complication with the sleeve. And repeating several tests and having work done to fix the newest complications. I have become a topic of conversation in my area of the medical profession. I have been asked out of the blue by at least by 6 people who work at the hospitals and clinics how much weight I have lost...Stunned that that is the first question out of their mouths and instead of me keeping it close to my chest I tell them 200 lbs. It is only after that that they ask questions regarding the surgery. The next most asked question is would you recommend it? And then, would you do it again? Most that have found out how much I have lost, scream you must be proud. You should be on a poster in the hospital telling everyone there is hope. You must feel so good about yourself...I have thought about it a lot and I don't think proud is the word I feel...I feel a great sense of relief and a huge weight lifted off me literally. I feel that this is a life long journey for all of us and that pride has nothing to do with it. I did not win a contest or a marathon or the lottery or save millions of lives. I am working to save mine and it won't be done until I breath my last breath. A work in progress. Not to allow myself to get complacent over this new adventure and turn back to my old life... I am thrilled that I finally had the opportunity to get this gift of the sleeve. But there is no inner pride. There is satisfaction that I have gotten this far. But pride no. I still have so much work to do!!!
  9. That is the entire point of the sleeve. To give you time to learn how to conquer the addiction of food. Working out the reasons why in your head, will help you work your body... This tool gives you that opportunity to learn how to eat to live not live to eat.... So I do believe in treats as well. Always have..With balance and moderation....We are never going to totally beat the addiction. We will fight until our last breath. The point of weight loss surgery is to improve your health. By educating yourself about food and all the aspects we use it for. And then changing the way we see it..... I will be a food addict the rest of my life..But I work every day to find the balance and moderation needed to reach my goals and stay there......I kinda like the control in this way now..It used to be I had control of food in my world and nothing else. Now I control what goes in my body...I love seeing food left on my plate and carefully examining how my sleeve is acting toward it.....Amazing machines aren't we all!
  10. For me..nothing has changed. I have been chronically depressed since 2000. When I was in the hospital after my surgery for 5 months..They took me off of my meds during that time and i started to slide back into a dark place. They put me back on them and things got better within a few weeks...Losing weight has made no difference for me... But for now I advice that you go back on them and consider it temporary. Work with your Doctor and let him/her take you off them again later if it is best for you.... Okay!
  11. Oh my goodness another country heard from... I think it depends on who wants to eat it eh!!!! I bought it, I ate it, and I enjoyed it....It was what I wanted and so it met its fate in my presents....now I no longer want one....lol It was good though...But a lot smaller then I remember. That was disappointing..But then if it had been the regular size I probably would not have been able to finish it...
  12. It takes weeks to build muscle and only days to have them go back to the state they were in...Your muscles remember how much you carried and how strong they are. They are going to work you harder then people who have always been thin...But the cool thing is we build muscle faster because of all the weight we carried....That is what my trainer said..And I believe him..lol
  13. Nope it isn't...but remember for a while you were not exercising those muscles and even though they remember that you had muscles. They need to be worked and strengthened again. Not in pain but sore is good. My trainer always says he has done his job if I am sore equally on all areas worked....He is a masochist!
  14. I am a horse of a different color. I now have Reactive Hypoglycemia..So now I eat 6 times a day...I am eating more complex carbs now to keep my sugars settled....I think that my caloric intake has gone up..But I am still losing weight and am getting where it is no longer a good idea..... Everyone is different! But at some point our bodies are supposed to level off and we need to maintain within 5-10 lbs.
  15. You got me sweetie! I am a true believer in learning how to live in the real world of food. Treats included......
  16. Soon you will be a loser like the rest of us....
  17. I have read through this entire thread again to see If my remarks were off. Even as I read them again, Its clear to me my remark about "jerks" wasn't pointed at anyone in particular. However, in the context and flow of the thread I can see how it could have been read as me calling MR a jerk. It was a newbie mistake for me not to make it clear that I wasn't dissing her. So to MR and those who love her, I am sorry. Please let me know what else I need to do or say to clean this up with you. (Please don't ask for a 20 page paper that compares and contrasts Protein shakes because then I'd have to start a Rant about that and we could get caught in some sort of Star Trek infinity time loop. And you know what a pain those are! Please, please lets stop the insanity of this thread......I beg everyone! I am writing this while being high on Morphine due to my latest hospital trip.......
  18. How amazing...I can't wait until my bed sore on my tailbone heals so that I can go horse back riding again...It has been my dream to ride again in the future!
  19. doubtful. the road is well traveled. but whatever. (you mean best brand of Protein shake??? bahahaha!) I don't think that all the t's are crossed nor the i's dotted on any of the weight loss surgery forums. I think that even I have been through things that no one else has endured or even heard of before. That the possibilities are never ending for complications and or defeats and or the victories over obesity.... Why how many here have had a pocket of Fluid form on their sleeve after 18 months and the doctor says it is a pin hole leak. Excuse me why would anyone have a leak after 18 months?????? Oh well sometimes it just happens..18 months later you say. Why yes! Then the drain they put in they remove after 3 days and the pocket fills back up and you go for your second CT and drain and then 10 days later you step on the damn thing and yank it out of your pocket..( leak ). Then you go for your third CT scan in 3 weeks and the doctor sees that it is maybe possible that the leak is closed anyway and takes the said pulled drain out and sends me on my merry way again. In hopes that maybe the leak problem is solved..Because it is to dangerous to insert another drain because of the position of the leak.... Have you heard of anything like this before in WLS a leak after 18 months...I bet you haven't......Now I wait to see if it is truly a miracle and the leak has healed....If not I will go for yet another CT which would be my fourth and yet another drain..That is not an easy procedure and start again..I am not telling you my story for any other reason but to say that information and experience of each and every one of us may be what we have never heard of before and may in some way yet educate someone else if and when they have a leak 18 months out of surgery......
  20. Are you kidding me.....Cool Whip is an edible oil! I would never put something like that in my body...... LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
  21. Hi there, Sweetie....A Pop Tart? LOL...Who would think we would crave something like that, right? I had some yogurt pretzels in the house the other day and thought "It's OK to have a few." Yeah, who has just a few yogurt pretzels...I couldn't. I ate a lot of them - so many, my stomach hurt. I wish I could say "have just one of the Pop Tarts"...I'm not sure I could stop at that. I also find that when I eat carby things like that, that it affects the rest of my day and my want and need for more carbs. Let us know what you decide to do!!!!!! Sending much love to you, my friend. See I would never eat a yogurt pretzel......Not my thing.....But I can't even remember when I wanted a pop tart or the last time I ate one...It is done and over and the box sits a lone in my snack cupboard and will probably be eaten by Amelia..my grand daughter.... I feel no aftermath...Food is part of life I did not eat the box or even 2 but I enjoyed it...That is something I have talked about on here constantly to not treat things you love like a no no. Your wants will eventually win out if you deny them regarding food....ONCE IN A WHILE.......is the ticket. Not every day and not all the time and not to eat them until you get sick..one cookie, one bar.....it's all good! Moderation and balance is the ticket...At least that's what I was taught by my nut!
  22. Never ever saw those....Not sure if I will ever want a pop tart again...It was what I needed at the time..Been there done that...LOL But do I feel bad or wrong ...Nope..Today I am in the race again to good health......
  23. I got it after my surgery as well and am now on a medication I take every night..Boy does it work...i am so grateful to the Doc. for rescuing me from RLS....I was being driven nuts!!!!! Mirapex 0.125 mg
  24. Oh no you got me wrong. I do not eat a treat because I think I deserve it. I do it because I want it and I can have it if I chose too. I have sliders that I have to be very careful with like popcorn, cracker chips...Like that...A pop tart is just that a pop tart and I have worked on myself for 2 years to put food where it belongs....To feed my body not my soul... It will always be a struggle because once you are an addict you are always an addict. I ate it and enjoyed it and today I am back on track....That is the difference in changing your brain set..from uncontrolled eating... I will struggle for the rest of my life like everyone on this forum or have had WLS to control the demon...I chose to poke it once in a while to see how far I have come...And I have come a long way baby....I hope the same for you someday otherwise it will become way to much being so restricted on a diet again..just a different one.....
  25. It is wonderful to see so many living life like real thin people and putting food in its proper place. I salute all of you... My nut told me when I started this journey that if I treated it like another failed diet. I would fail. But that if I learned to eat in the real world, used balance and moderation along with my tool I would succeed. I took her advice and ran with it... So I do eat really differently and I get a treat now and then..I love my sleeve and my new feel on life and how I see food today compared to 2 years ago when it was the only thing I had left... You guys are working it as well. I am so proud to be part of this group of successful people..Who know where I have been somewhat!
