I'm not sleeved, yet, but i know i'll be picking up some different kinds of teas.. like hibiscus (it lowers your blood pressure), green tea, blackberry sage, etc.. crystal light pure, etc..
another thing I will be picking up is a bottle of Bragg's liquid Aminos... When your body digests Protein, it breaks it down into amino acids.. So Bragg's liquid Aminos sorta just cuts straight to the point & gives you 16 amino acids, right there, ready to be absorbed by your body that much faster & easier, without having to break down Protein to get it. it has all 10 "essential aminos" and gives you 16 out of the 20 standard amino acids.. it also doesn't contain any dairy products, so in case you develop lactose intolerance, you can still use the aminos.
    from wikipedia:
"In the form of Proteins, amino acids comprise the second largest component other than Water of human muscles, cells and other tissues. Outside Proteins, amino acids also perform critical biological roles including neurotransmitters, transport, and in synthesis."
"9 of the 20 standard amino acids are called 'essential' amino acids for humans because they cannot be created from other compounds by the human body, and so must be taken in as food."
one cool thing about these liquid aminos is that a serving size is only 1/2 a tsp.. and you can blend them into your other food, eat them with your chicken/beef broth, use 'em on salads or whatever. http://bragg.com/products/la.html << their website.
i would also purchase some easily digested/blended veggies that are frozen.. like peas, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.. y'know.. do some shopping ahead of time & buy a bag of frozen peas & some frozen broccoli & frozen carrots.. then go ahead & make myself some purees and leave some plain & add some seasonings to some of them, just in case you don't like or can't handle the seasoning for some reason after surgery.. then just pour the purees into ice cube trays and freeze them.. put them in a ziploc bag & label them accordingly.. so whenever you need to eat, you have something ready to go. you could probably add your protein (in the form of your powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury or chicken soup) as well as meats and whatnot for your different stages..
here's a few websites that have some good looking baby food recipes that could make for yourself.. including stuff with meat & cheese (like one that sounded pretty good to me was chicken & butternut squash)..
    http://www.homemade-...od-recipes.html
    http://wholesomebaby....momtastic.com/
    http://www.nurturebaby.com/
here's chef gordon ramsay's broccoli Soup recipe, which i will be making for myself.. you could easily add your protein and the aminos to this: http://gordonramsays...-broccoli-soup/
you can also make yourself some healthier popsicles, paletas and cream pops and stuff like that, rather than buy store bought ones..
get yourself some stevia, swerve sweetener, TheraSweet (xylitol), agave nectar.. to use as a sweetener (the ones i listed are all natural, safe & don't have bad side effects like aspartame, sucralose, splenda & etc & they won't raise your blood glucose/blood sugar levels).. and get yourself some natural (or regular) flavor extracts & make yourself some popsicles... like lemon, orange, cherry, raspberry, chocolate, pina colada, coconut cream, rootbeer, etc.. whatever sounds good.. if you make 'em yourself, you could also sneak in some of your unflavored Unjury protein, so you'll be eating protein in everything!
when you can drink milk, if you develop lactose intolerance you can pick up some almond/cashew/hemp/soy/whatever milk & mix up some unjury, almond milk & flavor of your choice & have a creamsicle..
whenever you get to soft foods, you could try a recipe like this, except you blend the melon, instead of shred it.. could do that with watermelon or whatever.. or just leave the actual melon out all together & use the flavoring.
    http://www.busogsara...-ice-candy.html
here's some places that sell natural flavorings:
    http://www.naturesfl...coffee-tea.html
    http://www.spicesetc...ural-Flavorings
here's a recipe for an avocado paleta.. obviously you'd use a sugar alternative & you could mix in your unjury protein with the Water & this is also dairy free, just in case:
    http://www.seriousea...ert-recipe.html
here's some healthy, sugar free avocado chocolate pudding:
    http://penniesonapla...colate-pudding/
you can also freeze that mix & have a "fudge" popsicle.
anyway.. that's what kinda stuff i will be doing. in my opinion, you may as well do all that you can while you feel good.. the more you can do ahead of time, the easier you'll have it during your recovery! even the simple stuff, like your broth.. so all you'll need to do when you get home is pick out what flavor you want, stick a cube of it in a coffee cup & microwave it.. it'll have your unjury protein, some bragg's liquid aminos and be ready for consumption. then all you'd have to do is throw your dirty cups in the dish washer, relax & fart around on the internet or watch tv. lol

yeah, i've heard about it before...
don't really have much to say, except maybe folks that turn to drinking have too much time on their hands.. there's so much stuff out there that they could be doing & it's sad and a waste of their new, skinny life to lounge around drinking, spending all their time in bars and etc.. they could be out there making a difference, crossing things off their bucket list, traveling as much as their budget will allow, seeing the 7 wonders of the world, traipsing across the holy land or running marathons or something... they could be having such a full, fun-filled life now that they're not fat anymore & aren't limited by their size.. and it's very sad to me that people would rather waste their lives drinking.. :/ now that they're not fat, the world is their oyster... they could make their life a huge, priceless pearl.. but they'd rather run over the shell & squish the meat out so the whole thing is worthless. lol just so darn sad. :/

ANd feel pretty good considering it was only done yesterday. Surgery went well -it went faster than anticipated even with a hiatal hernia repair. Today even after they took me off the pain drip six hours ago iM just now asking for a shot. So the pain hasn't been too overwhelming. The gas is moderate and I've been drinking fairly well. Thanks to the great staff at Greater Baltimore Medical Center!

lol.. i live in the south & the real "ladies" always say that "ladies never cross their legs".. they keep their legs together & to the side.. but they will cross their ankles.. xD cause if you cross your legs, you risk people seeing your underwear when you wear skirts & dresses.. which is very impolite. xD it also can cause you to have spider veins..
    http://becoming-a-lady.com/tips/crossing-your-legs-like-a-lady
if you practice sitting like that, your inner thigh muscles will be stronger.. and that can also have a positive effect on other very important parts to a lady... if you catch my drift..

hungry girl has fettuccine alfredo made with that cheese. it's not how you would think. she uses "noodles" called Shirataki noodles. they're made out of tofu & they don't swell up in your stomach. here's the recipe:
    http://www.hungry-gi...letters/raw/249
the shirataki noodles come in different varieties.. they have clear ones, for asian dishes.. as well as the ones made from tofu, which come in fettuccine, angel hair, spaghetti, macaroni, etc.. they're low carb, don't swell up when you eat them (they're packed in water) & they're low calorie & full of Protein. you could make chicken noodle Soup, with some chicken broth & slap the noodles in there.. you could make macaroni & cheese.. you could have some spaghetti with blended meat sauce.. you could have shirataki Pasta & pesto.. etc.
more info on the noodles: http://lowcarbdiets....atakinoodle.htm

if you can find somewhere to get some kangen Water, you could drink that.. it changes the molecules in the Water & remineralizes it (brings it back to "life" so to speak) and long story short, it has a very easily digestible & easy to assimilate form of magnesium in it.. which magnesium makes you poop.. and because it is water, it will help hydrate you... killing 2 birds with 1 stone. actually 3, because it is alkalized, and you want your body to be alkalized.. it helps you heal faster, repair yourself faster & keep bad stuff from growing in you.. if you have an alkalized body, cancer won't grow in it & etc.. so that's definitely worth checking out.. because you're so constipated, i'd start out at the top alkalized number.. you'll blow the bowl out of the toilet for a day or two, but you'll be so thankful to get that junk out of your body!
alternately, you could get some magnesium powder.. same sort of effect, without the cool water. lol you can buy it at health food stores, like whole foods & akin's or whatever.
    edit:
you can also pick up some xylitol & use that as a sweetener. it's a natural alternative to sugar & one of the benefits of it is that it's a natural laxative.. it's got all sorts of Vitamins and stuff in it, too.. http://www.livingfuel.com/TheraSweet.aspx << where you can buy some.

I did my research on all choices since Kaiser offered all three options. My sister has had the bypass and I almost had it done back in 2004. I wasn't ready to have my body rewired differently and live with the downside of malnutrition. My sister also had a difficult first pregnancy with getting enough nutrients to her baby. I thought the lap band would be a good fit, but after more research and talking to the orientation doctors at Kaiser, the lowered chance of success of losing the amount of weight I want and the possible complications were enough for me to change my mind.
As for regrets, I don't really have any. I wish I had known Kaiser had offered this earlier, I would have definitely signed up for the classes. I've heard some horrific stories about the lap band and there are plenty of youtube videos of people with complications. As for the people on that website, their choice was as personal as choosing who to marry. Its a life decision and they'll defend it as such. Just keep in mind that we all defend our personal choices.

I too was originally going to get the band but after doing research and watching videos on youtube about how the stomach tissue grows over the band and how the stomach deteriorates under the band, I quickly changed my mind. Also, the long term results were not good in the cases I have seen. I do know of some people that have been successful with the band though but they are exercise FANATICS because by their own admission if they weren't they would gain again.

you can make your own baby food.. one example would be like on that montel williams blender infomercial.. buy a bag of organic frozen peas, blanch them, then slap 'em in the blender with a little bit of the Water they were blanched in, blend til smooth, pour in ice cube tray & freeze until needed.
you could do that with all sorts of fruit (mangoes, peaches, apples, blueberries, etc) & veggies (like broccoli, carrots, asparagus, cauliflower, etc), and of course you could season them however you want to.. store bought baby foods are pretty mild in flavor (aka bland lol).
here's a few websites that have some good looking baby food recipes that could make for yourself.. including stuff with meat & cheese (like one that sounded pretty good to me was chicken & butternut squash)..

Mostly Water, Protein smoothies, juicing and yogurt. I did try some refried Beans today and was able to eat a little bit ok.

Nyxa, it IS sad. I'm not disputing that fact. But, don't forget that when we were fat, people looked at us and were thinking the same thoughts about us and our addiction to food.
Here is where I think the mental health and all these supposedly "physce evals" prior to surgery are failing. And again, while transfer addictions are real, I sure don't want to be lumped into a statstic.
    Again, just my humble opinion!!
