  1. I'm not sure I felt that then....only when I "pig out"
  2. Yep! and I have to admiit I cheated the first 2 days. first day with eating 3 pieces of chocolate, second day with a handful of cashews, then I was able to follow it strictly. Good luck with your pre-op diet.
  3. The instructions I got from my doctor was no vitamins/minerals til I start the puree stage since they can cause nausea
  4. Hmmmm....I wonder if she could sit back and relax for a whole day without having to do anything. Like I know I can't just sit at a beach, I have to be doing something, so I only like to go to beaches with a boardwalk.
  5. Being able to cross my legs without hanging onto my pant legs to keep it from slipping off Being able to stop telling people I'm a human yo-yo....don't know how many times people have seen me gain and lose weight over the last 23 years at my job Being able to get up without having to roll over on and get on my knees first
  6. Glad you got the approval! Persistence pays off! I don't have UHC, but Kaiser. I have the 6 month program and I did everything they asked and got approved with flying colors.
  7. You look amazing! great job!
  8. It'll be here before you know it! I'll be one month out from my surgery then. See you on the loser's bench!
  9. Hey, it sounds like you're doing great! What is your friend's vice? For instance, I have a friend that loves to buy purses and she has a hard time NOT buying any. So explain to your friend that unfortunately food is your vice as________ is hers. Coming here is definitely the right place to come for support. I've gotten much advice here, whether I ask for it or I've read it from another post. Good luck with your journey.
  10. Way to go! I hope I have it as easy as you...I guess I'll find out tomorrow.
  11. I was told that it should take 20-30 minutes to eat a meal. So practice eating a slower by talking in between bites or put the fork down and wait til you finish chew chew chewing (as kcinpa said) then pick up the fork for the next bite. Good luck with it. I'm still working on slowing down, but after tomorrow I think it's gonna be easier to slow down since there will be physical consequences...lol
  12. I'm not sure what "bloating" feels like to know if I need gasx strips or not. Is it "bloating" when I feel I have to burp all the time? It doesn't really hurt or anything. I just burp a lot.
  13. Like your soap box! I hope I have the same experience with food after I get sleeved as you have.
  14. Congrats! I think you're the first one that I've read where the process time was cut shorter...lucky you. Your surgery date will be here before you know it. By the way, I like the image of the bird and cat
  15. I found what helps me is stocking up on sugar free popsicles. It's somthing that I can chew on. I'll be honest, I did cheat some the first 2 days, but by day 3 I was able to stick to it. Luckily I only have one week of it. Just take it one day at a time and you'll do great!
  16. Just remember less saggy skin....of course I probably will feel the same way after I get sleeved that I'm not losing as enough. I'm retraining my thoughts that it's good and will be less saggy skin.
  17. Congrats...It's one of those NSV! Wish I had the coordination to play. I can't hit a ball and I'm just as lousy with catching
  18. So I've been on the pre-op diet which I started at 206 and now the day before surgery, I weighed myself and I'm at 198.9!
  19. Thanks you all! I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this way. I know the death rate/complication rate is low with this surgery. Weird, I never thought like this with past surgeries...maybe because this one is considered more elective than required as others were. Oh well, I'm still ready for it
  20. My surgery is tomorrow...yaayyyyy! Yesterday, I found myself thinking of what I needed to get done prior. I was crocheting a blanket for my daughter to take to college when she starts this August. I found I had to finish it prior to surgery. Now today, I'm thinking of writing a letters to my husband, son, and daughter in case something happens in surgery. Did anyone else feel like this and actually do it?
  21. When I have my surgery later this week, I know there will be one leak test the day after surgery. I know I will need to be careful with my stomach and not overeat to cause any stretching or possible leaks. My doctor told me that it takes 6 months for the stomach to completely heal. That's why it's no blind NG tube for 6 months.
