  1. Congrats on the baby! Maybe you can find a way to deal with the stress. I know exercising is good. Maybe taking a walk after you feed the baby or when the baby is sleeping walk around the house. Just think, you wee able to do this before and I'm sure you can do it again. We're all looking to improve our health and the sleeve is a great tool to have. Try going back to the basics when you first got sleeve. Here's a link to the 5 day pouch test that could help get you on the right track again. I've read about it and heard of others recommending it that I book marked it for myself. Good luck with your sleeve and enjoy that baby of yours....they don't stay little for long. It seems like with a blink of an eye my kids are going off to college. I can't believe I'll be an empty nester soon. http://5daypouchtest.com/plan/days1_2.html
  2. I would check with your doctor just to be sure. I felt pain on the lower right incision where I see a bruise. I'm guessing that's where they pulled the extra stomach out. Try holding a pillow firmly against your body before sneezing or coughing. If it's just muscle soreness, it definitely gets better each day. I am one week post op now and can still feel it a bit. Hope everything will be okay for you.
  3. Glad to hear you had an "easy" surgery. I hope you have a speedy recovery!
  4. Hope the insurance comes through for you quickly. Good luck with your journey.
  5. I'm post-op and am told to get in 60-80 grams of protein. Protein helps to maintain your muscle mass. You want to lose fat, not muscle. I think protein has always been important. Also with protein, it takes longer for your stomach to digest it, helping to keep you feeling full longer. Which means less food with low/no nutritional value.
  6. Hey, how about frozened/canned green leafy vegetables? It doesn't have to be a salad.
  7. They will. good luck with your journey!
  8. Wow! congrats! You look great!
  9. My understanding is foods with low/none nutritional value and can easier be digested by your stomach, leaving it empty again...Like white bread. Whereas a piece of chicken will take your stomach longer to digest, keeping you feeling full longer and provides you with the Protein you need.
  10. Hi, I'm 5 days post-op and am able to get all my Protein (60-80 grams)per day. When I first wake up, I start on my Protein shake. I take a tiny sip and then I walk around the house (approx. 70-75 steps) then I take another little sip and walk around again. At first it took me an hour and a half to get the shake down, but this morning it took an hour. Then I keep sipping Water until it's time for the text shake/broth. If the shakes are too thick, try watering it down or try doing a broth. I bought the unjury chicken broth and it tastes great and goes down a little easier. Good luck with getting in your Proteins. You need them so you don't lose muscle mass.
  11. Good luck and I wish you a speedy recovery!
  12. Hi, I'm 5 days post-op. Glad to see you made it to the losers bench. I continuous sip all day. When I take my protein shake I walk around the house a time or two then take another little sip, whether mentally or physically, I just find that it helps and I get in some walking. So it takes me about an hour to drink the shake. Just keep taking tiny sips, it'll get better.
  13. Have a chocolate Protein Drink or you can have a SF chocolate pudding or a SF fudgsicle (spelling?) I had a hysterectomy years ago (still have ovaries) so don't quite know what that's like anymore
  14. It'll be here before you know it! Good luck!
  15. yayyy Carroll! It's one decision you won't regret! When I first woke up from my surgery, I have to admit, I did have a minute of doubt. The first thought to cross my mind was "What did I do to myself?" I know it was the groggy head feeling and the pain talk. Because the next time I woke I was ok and got a dose of pain med. It took from 2pm to 1am for the fogginess to lift from my head. Then it's been all good. so far it's going smoothly. I'm able to get in my 60-80 grams of Protein and at least 6 cups of liquids...definitely 8 counting the protein shakes/broth. Good luck with your surgery. It'll be here before you know it.
  16. Hmmmmm.....is it high in protein?
  17. Hi, welcome! You've come to the right place. There's tons of support here. I've learned a great deal prior to my surgery that I wasn't the least bit nervous having the surgery. I hope your approval comes through for you.
  18. "pinch" "pinch" Wow, you've done a great job! Keep at it, those stubborn few pounds will come off.
  19. Pick yourself up and brush yourself off and start again! It will be so worth it!
  20. My surgeon gave me medication to prevent blood clots. Just remember as soon as you wake up, attempt to walk a little with help and just keep walking as often as you can. It will definitely help prevent blood clots. I wish you all the best and a clot-free surgery. Let us know how it goes.
  21. I'm 49 and just had surgery a couple of days ago and everything is going fine. I hope to be close to goal weight by the time I turn 50 in July.
  22. Unfortunately I have no experience with this, but I hope you get your answers from your primary. It's discouraging when you get the run around from your doctors.
  23. You're doing great. I think the best part is you realize what your bad aha moment is. By realizing it, you can then correct it. I have confidence that you will make your goal of losing 100 pounds in a year!
  24. Wow, I can definitely relate to you. I'm on my 4th day post-op and I've had two food dreams already. Not any specific food, but that I'm eating when I've just had surgery. Thankfully, I am not hungry at all and drink my Protein drinks because I know I need to keep my muscles intact.
