  1. Welcome to VST! I found this site when I was 3 weeks post-op and I am so glad I did. You'll love it. Congrats on taking charge of your life. I am now 6 1/2 weeks post-op have good (have stall days) days and bad - good out weigh the bad. Keep in touch and let us know how you're doing.
  2. Sounds tasty. I may have to try this .... as soon as my dr. says I can eat tomatoes. But I might have to find a substitute
  3. Congrats on your date. I too was happy and nervous. Mostly happy because I knew when it was over I would be starting a new chapter in my life. Sorta the first day of the rest of my life, because basically that exactly what it is. You will fine. Faith in God, who has faith in your surgeon as you do. I will keep you in prayer.
  4. Ok, Its been said that 1oz of cheese is the size of a pair of dice...I weighed my cheese and an oz looks a lot bigger than a pair of dice. Help me out here. What does 1oz of cheese look like
  5. I know what you mean...me too
  6. Can you tell what types of food you eat that are protein filled? My dr. saids I can eat broccoli (but no protein value), greenbeans (again, no protein value). I'm open to suggestions. thanks.
  7. The gym membership is official. I thought about and the gym fits me right. Biking will be in the future and not that far away. I will take my time and get to where I want to be mentally and emotionally b4 I get on a bike. I will get a bike just not right now. Thanks for all the suggestions, I really do appreciate it.
  8. Phillygirl - you got support right here...VST... I thought the same thing until I came across this site. To me this site is my HOPE DIAMOND, looks good, feel great!! You Are NOT Alone and the pain - I feel you, but I walk every (not as far as I would like) but with the job that I have I get in at least 2 miles - in stages - but I get it in. Your body will tell you when to go, and it will tell you when to stop, just listen and above all - take YOUR time
  9. Ahhhh Moscato (Sutter Home or Bare Foot), I would love a glass (in due time). It can wait but ahhhh Moscato. I think I just showed will power
  10. You go gurl, I'm with you on that one. I did tell 2 people but only b/c they are the supervisors where I work and I was out for a month so I guess they had to be told. I am amazed tho, no rumors going around (that I've heard), I guess they can keep confidence.
  11. I confess that I am not exercising like I should be either... I confess that I think about going to Cheesecake Factory and ordering a chocolate chip cookie dough slice of cheesecake  I confess I had a fish sandwish from McDonald's last week - I did not eat the bread tho.. like thats an excuse. I confess I WANT A CORONA SO BAAAAAAD!!!! I confess I could tear up a snickers right now. Now having confessed all this.... I will not go back to where I was...I ate the fish, the rest was in my head. I have come too far to turn back now. But I do like these confessions. It felt good to get that off my chest.
  12. I have to make a choice... a bike or a gym membership. i can't afford both. my friends split on this. so what do y'all think? i have made up my mind as to which i'm going to do - for now - but please tell me which would you get first? i will tell you which it is later on... i promise
  13. you will be just fine. prayers are being sent your way.
  14. Congrats. glad to see you're well.
  15. I too thought about it for more that a year (a little less than 2), partly because I thought it was too late for me at age 51. But doing research and talking to friends and family (certain ones) I found that one of my best friends had bypass surgery in '07 (she was 46) and a couple more had it when they were betwee 57 & 60. So age didn't stop them, don't let it stop you. You may be older but hey you're wiser as well. Wise enough to make the decison to do something to help you see 63, 64, 65.... well you get the idea. If your doctor does not think you're too old then think of it this way - Older-Wiser-Sexier. Congrats on your decison
  16. Sending prayers your way now
  17. I'm still laffing...even as I write this. Yes, priceless indeed!!
  18. @Butter - thank you think i'll get me a pair those cycling shorts. i will not be afraid to wear them anymore
  19. hi, just added you...welcome
  20. I was introduced to laffing cow just this sunday past and I liked it. My dr told me I could have toast but only one slice and only toasted (which is how I like it anyway). I tried the laffing cheese on the toast and homerun, I liked it. 2g Protein from the toast and 2g from the cow. moo moo
  21. Please post a pic of your new toy...please
  22. Btw, why do guy bikes look better than gurl bikes - personally speaking. I do kinda favor the guy bikes. And any suggestions on what brand-speed-bells&whistles to look for when shopping?
  23. Beautifully put. Conld not have said it better. I have been afraid to ride a bike for several years now and I do want one. I was always fearful that one of the pedals would snap off behind all 284lbs I was carrying on it...not to mention the seat oh the seat with not enough cushion was murder. Now, I am looking forward to going out and shopping for a bike...me.. shopping...for a bike!! I can't wait.
  24. Yes that's it P90X. It is intense to say the least. I reckon this would something to think about way down the road. Thank you.
  25. Thanks everybody for your comments. Greatly appreciate each one. I was just talking a friend about this and she suggested taking the seeds out (which is what I do with the watermelon & honeydew). Thanks again CoolBreeze
