So incredibly mad for telling my father...
I would love to have my Dad here to see my results, with that said, give your dad a break. If he's like my dad, he'd never do anything to intentionally hurt you. He's probably just so proud of you he couldn't resist telling others how much weight you've lost and that you were so determined to lose the weight you EVEN had surgery. (Not to steal your thread, but my dad was my night in shinning armor and my biggest confidant, sorry, I just felt the need to share that)

Fish-oil supplements for LapBanders?
I can't take those pills, because I can't stand the after taste. Once they dissolve OMG, that nasty fishy taste just keeps coming back. It's supposed to be healthy, so if you find a replacement, let me know.

Pills and Supplements
If I knew it would really help, I would consider a supplement, but only if it was proven to be a new miracle pill. I took phentermines for years, blue and clears they're called on the street, or yellow jackets, but mine were the expensive prescription type, LOL. I think back now at how stupid I was to take them for so long and all I did was maintain my overweight status, which I guess was better than gaining. Like VQ, I take supplements, such as cod liver oil pills, I haven't been sick with the flu or a cold in 10 years, (probably just jinxed the heck out of myself) and I just started taking B12 Vitamins, Water soluble, which are supposed to be easier on the liver. The first two I took, I thought I'd taken speed, what's up with that?

Breasts (women only)
I had reduction done 25 years ago and lost most of the nipple sensation. If the temp drops and one of my sons are around he'll make the comment, "a little nippley in here, huh mom", so that part still works on its own. I hope to have reduction #2 done soon, just trying to get up the nerve to do the tummy tuck with it.

My endoscopy results
One thing about it, a few months will give you a chance to make the best out of the unfill and still have the band. I'm so happy there was NO erosion....Hugs!

Show us those tummies!!
OUCH, that picture with the bellybutton hole looks kind of raw. Is that the way it's suppose to look while it's healing? Yikes, that scared me, but you're looooooking good. The tummy tuck took you from a size 14 to 10??? OMG, that's great.

Excessive PB-ing on purpose
I hate to pb, which happens more often than I would like, with every pb I do a visual of my band turning inside out. I realize you need support, please know this may not be what you want to hear, but you've got to stop using this as a way to eat more. Why did you get the band, was it not to help you stop eating as much. If you don't stop abusing your band, you may as well make the arrangements to have it removed now and save your esophagus from being intentionally damaged. It's up to you Joyce, you need to take control of the situation, please stop abusing yourself. Big Hugs!

I just feel like crying
Whoya, Breaking the habit is a biggie, first of all don't bring it in the house, (remember I know ya), you can't bring pizza's in just to challenge your band and mind. My personal downfall is I keep forgetting to eat Protein first and not enough of it. When I first started my journey I was doing really great, then back into the whatever handy to eat syndrome. I'm trying really hard to remember protein first. As for a diet, I avoid the word, cause I keep telling myself I didn't spend $16,750.00 to diet, I spent the $$$ out of pocket to help me change the way I eat and the amount I eat. For the most part the band has done it's job, the rest is up to me. A little exercise for me would probably work wonders,:banana Good luck girlfriend(s)!

Please help - Deodorants / Antiperspirants Quetion
I have never been able to wear Secret, the combination of their formula and my formula makes matters worse. I use Soft n Dri, babypowder scent, not only do I stay dry and smell like a baby's butt, no stains! My DH keeps picking up Arrid, OMG, that chit leaves the worst stains.

1 year Bandivarsary
Congratulations bandfriend, though your journey may be slow in the pounds department, 30 lbs is 30 lbs. I'm proud of ya and you may be a bit disappointed, but don't be, your attitude and fortitude is an inspiration for all of us.

Have You Noticed.....
that Stairs are getting steeper Groceries are heavier And, everything is farther away.. Yesterday I walked to the corner and I was dumbfounded to discover how long my street had become! And, you know, people are less considerate now, especially the young ones. They speak in whispers all the time! If you ask them to speak up they just keep repeating themselves, endlessly mouthing the same silent message until they're red in the face! What do they think I am, a lip reader? I also think they are much younger than I was at the same age. On the other hand, people my own age are so much older than I am. I ran into an old friend the other day and she has aged so much that she didn't even recognize me. I got to thinking about the poor dear while I was combing my hair this morning, and in doing so, I glanced at my own refection.........Well, REALLY NOW- even mirrors are not made the way they used to be! Another thing, everyone drives so fast these days! You're risking life and limb if you happen to pull onto the freeway in front of them.. All I can say is, their brakes must wear out awfully fast, the way I see them screech and swerve in my rear view mirror. Clothing manufacturers are less civilized these days. Why else would they suddenly start labeling a size 10 or 12 dress as 18 or 20? Do they think no one notices that these things no longer fit around the waist, hips, thighs, etc.? The people who make bathroom scales are pulling the same prank, but in reverse. Do they think I actually "believe" the number I see on that dial? HA! I would never let myself weigh that much! Just who do these people think they're fooling? I'd like to call up someone in authority to report what's going on -- but the telephone company is in on the conspiracy too: they've printed the phone books in such small type that no one could ever find a number in here! All I can do is pass along this warning: We are under attack! Unless something drastic happens, pretty soon everyone will have to suffer these awful indignities. PS: I am sending this to you in a larger font size, because something has caused my computer's fonts to be smaller than they once were.

What was your turning point?
It's funny, but when I show people this picture, they always say, I don't remember you being that heavy, well I do! I was so tired of being the largest person every where I went. I'm short, so finding clothes was a real pain, but my turning point was when I discovered the band. I called out local WLS immediately, but they did not have a doctor who did the surgery, but hoped to be doing it soon. I hated leaving the house, although, I never considered myself depressed, I just didn't want to have to put clothes on. When they finally had their first seminar on the band, I walked up to my doctor and said, "Hello, I'm going to be your first adj Lapband patient", and I was. Just think I had two doctors for the price of one, a proctor from Louisville assisted in all three of his surgeries that day. Now my goal is to get back on track and give my band more respect...protein first. BEFORE&AFTER306.BMP

To Fill or Not to Fill?
Morsaille, boy did that last line hit home. I'm scheduling a fill today. Keep in mind I've always been able to eat more than a cup full of salad or chili. As for beef or chicken, only a bite or two and slimeville.

Lapband Webcast

Low Rise Jeans and Thong Panties
I have several pairs of jeans (why are they called pairs?) that hit at the waist, Avenue brand I believe, and I can't breathe when I sit. I started wearing the low rise/mid rise, OMG, what a difference in comfort. Now my mission is to find the shorter capri with the lower waist, so off to Old Navy I go. They just opened a Lane Bryant near me, but the only thing I can wear from there now are the tops. I didn't know they had a 12 though. I just know I'd spend the day trying to pick that thong out of my a$$ if I tried to wear one. At my age, it's all about comfort .

Powerseed and PBing
Fab, thank you so much for not jumping down my throat and addressing what I said in such a kind way. In no way did I mean to judge you, obv, I didn't read your sig line :embarassed: correctly, so my apology to ya. It's just that I'm so guilty of those big bites, not properly chewing, and eating too much at one setting, which makes me think I may need a fill, BUT, I pb at least every other day as it is. So, I've either got to practice what I preach and get a fill and hope I don't have to go for another unfill, which would really "blow", because I'm self pay and now I have to pay for office visits, fills and UNFILLS. Hugs and again, thanks for the way ya let me know I miss-read ya.:speechles
