  1. White cheddar cheese puffs, ya know the ones that dissolve in your mouth....stay away from the cheese puffs!
  2. Your protein drink doesn't have to be a shake, I hate milk, so I use oj, ice, and frozen fruits, blended well with rice protein and makes a refreshing smoothie. The frozen berries, are good antioxidants to boot.
  3. Those are the most beautiful flowers. Makes me want to go out in my 60 degree yard and start pulling weeds out of the pots. Thanks for all the birthday wishes, it was a great day, actually, I started celebrating on Thursday, went to Coldwater Creek and bought myself tons of clothes, singing Happy Bday to me, Happy Bday to me, as I picked out each item. Although, it was a little sad none of the sizes were any smaller than last year, BUT, they weren't any larger either, which is a very good thing. It feels good to be back, got a lot of catching up to do, actually, I'm not even going to try to catch up, just start a new, LOL. Thanks girlies for the PM's, it's so nice to feel so special here. Hugs to all.
  4. I've never heard it put quite that way, "ground foods", I assume that's another word for mushies. While you're in the mushy stage it's easy to add a little Protein to foods while you're grinding them up. Good luck to you both.
  5. Go home I hope, LOL. Good hair with no voice, JMO.
  6. Congratulations, keep up the great work.:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  7. My band was attached with stitches too, but I didn't have to do clear liquids, only liquids...thank goodness.
  8. I have no idea what the surgery costs in England, but here in VA, two years ago, it was $16,750.00 out of pocket for me, and then fills can be quite expensive too, especially, under flouroscope, without insurance. Good Luck, by the way, I don't regret spending a dime, I love my band.
  9. I don't like protein shakes either, I hate milk. I use rice protein like a fruit smooth. Use ice, oj, strawberries, (any type of fruit) half a banana, scoop of protein, blend/chop and you, you'd think you were at Tropical Smoothie Cafe. No chocolate or vanilla taste for me.
  10. I use the rice based protein. I mix it in my frozen smoothies, there's no taste, it's a little gritty, but the strawberries and banana hide the taste.
  11. OK, there's one in every crowd, I'll be the one for this one, I love my Splenda, have it every day in my coffee, and I use the Crystal Lite packets for my Water. It's just not that big a thing to me. We're lucky to have so many choices, and that's what they are, choices we chose to make....with or without it's your choice .
  12. I drink propel and lemon flavored water. I miss my Diet Coke, can't believe it's been over two years since I've had one. I like frozen protein shakes too.
  13. Pretty selfish thing to do, IMO. Maybe he's suffering from post lapband husband, afraid you're going to become smaller and not put up with his selfish chit.
  14. Some people are more sensitive to Protein too. Try doing some frozen Protein shakes, are you using whey or Soy, try switching. As soon as you switch to mushies you should notice a difference. Wish ya the best.
  15. My doctor told me I could have anything that would fit through a straw....like strained, thin gravy, egg drop soup, just to name a couple. Please remember you're healing and the Protein does help with the hunger. Make a smoothie out of the protein with frozen strawberries and ice..yum!
  16. Slime to me is to pb, to pb does not mean you throw up, like it comes from the toes, it's the relief of that golf ball feeling or stuck feeling with "slime" ....just my opinion. Hope that wasn't TMI.
  17. Thanks all my LB friends, it has been a great day, you all made it just a little better, .
  18. Good luck on the lapband journey.
  19. Never hurts to get a second opinion, except maybe in the wallet, though this could be a very serious condition.
  20. As a "mum", I'd be mighty upset if one of my sons had any type of surgery and didn't tell me. That's my job as a mom....to worry. I wish you the best, I think you've made a wise choice to tell mum, especially if you want to stay in the will, lol.
  21. Ditto what Spydr said. Sometimes you think maybe some people just are not aware of this type surgery, I call it educating people.
  22. Good luck to you both on your band journey.
  23. I usually point to someone, (discreetly), and ask my husband, am I as big as she is? He usually give me the "right" answer, LOL.
  24. More Protein, eat or drink more protein, stay away from bread...well you asked for ideas. Good Luck! Remember, Proteins first! (if I could would just practice what I preach)
