  1. Neither, there are some advantages to getting old, LOL.
  2. Maybe your esophagus is irritated, I'd stick to liquids today, then try some mushies tomorrow, but if you can't keep liquids down, you could get dehydrated. Also, you may have a pill not go down just right. You didn't mention the size of your band, but a full cc is quite a fill, IMO. I have a 4cc band and I always got .2 at a time, I only have like 2.5 in my band, 3.5 years banded.
  3. Salads are my favorite food, but I don't eat cucumbers with the peeling, or tomatoes with the skin. My band doesn't like broccoli or bread, rice, or Pasta, except for angel hair pasta. I avoid beef and hot dogs, chicken must be very well done and not tough. My band doesn't like chicken wings at all or pizza, (although pepperoni is ok) . In the morning, my band doesn't like solid food of any type, not until around noon. After 8:00, I could probably eat a hot dog and a hamburger together, LOL. It's amazing what the band tolerates from one person to the next.
  4. Carla, I think it's both, I eat too fast and don't chew well enough. I don't get stomach cramps at all, never have. BTW, have you tried those new salads at Wawa. I call ahead and order the Greek salad, with extra roasted peppers and grated cheese added. It's enough for two meals and has chicken on it.
  5. Sherry, you're so funny, also don't go for groceries when you're hungry, that's always way too costly, not to mention, I end up with all this stuff I'll never fix, LOL. That's so awesome you AND hubby went on the walk, you're great people. Kat, where are you? Hope you're ok, please check in. Will check in later girlies.
  6. You have support now! You belong to one of the best Lapband support groups on the net. We're all here to help. Good Luck!
  7. Way to go! You time is the same as mine....3.5 years ago, lol. I wish you the best, you'll be fine.
  8. Not sure why they're coming up as a thumbnails, if you double click the picture, you'll get the "real" scope of me, LOL. The last picture was taken four months before my surgery. OH MY!
  9. Good Morning Hampton Roads... Donna, I've introduced you to the NJ girls, they're waiting for a real NJ gal to stop by and give a shout. Donna, I know it's a struggle, thank goodness I didn't have to do two weeks of that, only one day of liquids, don't forget to get that cheeseburger in before you go, LOL. You others are invited too, only a few are actually from NJ, the rest are from VA, Texas, Maine, Mexico, well you get the picture, they're from all over :frown:. Carla, I'd be surprised if you're at your sweet spot this soon, but you very well could be. Three and a half years later, I still do the same thing, forget to eat, then realize I'm starving, then inevitably, that first bite will get stuck, then it's slime city and numerous visits to the restroom. Did I mention..... I love my band and the new me. For kicks and giggles, here's an old picture of me, before and after, but the "new" is 2 years old, LOL. I don't have that tummy anymore and the boobs aren't that large anymore...thanks to modern surgery...TT and Breast lift and reduction.
  10. Eileenie, you know I'm willing , on the ocean or on the river, either one's fine with me. Diane, when I got home yesterday, my pool had dropped below the first step and below the skimmer, it was sucking in air instead of Water, I can't believe the motor on the pool sweet and the filter didn't burn up, that would have been a very costly few days out of town. Our storms were short lived last night, not enough rain for sure. Betty, have a cocktail for me too. I have to share this embarrassing story, yesterday, before we headed back from our beach house, we stopped to visit a friend, so I was fixing me a screwdriver, and all she had was one of those little bottles of pineapple/oj, so I shook it a little, loosened the top, poured in the vodka, went to shake the bottle again....OMG, that sticky chit went all over my face, my shirt, my bra, her fridge, floor, dishwasher, cabinets, and walls. I was soooo upset, well at least she got her floors hand washed and everything else wiped down. Old age is a bitch, LOL. Needless to say, after that I didn't want the dm thing. Hey Chrispy, I see ya peepin in. So Donna, when you going to come join us girlies? Sherry, you're such a busy lady, slowwwww down. Mandy, how's it skootin? Jetti, done packing yet? Trish, like Jetti said, I think she said it, walking really does help with the gas matters. Happy Fathers day to all you mothers out there :frown:. Hugs
  11. Welcome Tigger, congratulations on your new band journey, I wish you the best. You've joined a great site for wonderful support and information...:frown:
  12. Good Morning Ladies, err, I mean girlfriends! Diane, I'm so sorry it's not any better at work . I hope you're researching your options of being your own boss. With 22 years experience, the sky is the limit. Go for it, what have you got to lose, except a few $$, DH is a businessman, you can be a businesswoman as well. Start small, work from the garage and go from there. Maybe pick up some side jobs at first and work with DH, be his helper or start your own crew. I had to laugh at the thought of being my hubby's helper, OMG, he was sealing the concrete around the pool Friday, in 100 degree weather and I was trying to help, again, OMG, he was so difficult, that's putting it mildly. Still after 37 years of being in business together, ppl will say, "Oh, you work FOR your husband".....NOT, we're partners 50/50 baby. I'd last about a day working FOR him, LOL. Anyway, Diane, from our talks, it sounds like you have the energy, potential, and contacts to do it, so put a plan together, check with the small business exchange, GO FOR IT! I still believe you could talk to your boss, like I told you, we bosses do not want to lose a trusted, dedicated employee, especially to a competitor. Sherry, interviewing is the absolute worst part of hiring someone. I always let them do more of the talking, LOL, it's amazing what you find out. I hate it when they say, Oh, I know so and so that knows you, well there goes that one, I don't want my office info and personal files being discussed at the dinner table when they're out with so and so. Trish, hope you're healing well, we'd love to hear from you. Ladies, I'd like to introduce a new lapband friend, her name is Dj_Bryan, aka Donna, she's being banded soon. Her name is Donna and lives just down the road from me, she's a school teacher, like our missing Cindy, AND, she's actually from NJ, isn't that a hoot. I've invited her to join our happy LB family. Betty, were you nervous dring your Harley to work? I'd have been a nervous wreck, but you're a pro, so I'm sure you enjoyed it. It's actually work for me. Betty, I don't have any new pictures, I take such horrible pictures, and I'm such a critic, I usually delete them as soon as I download them. Kat, I'm so glad you and Rick have worked things through, he sounds like a great guy, you're blessed and it's good that you know that. I'm going to look that thread up, I've got a few people in my life I need to forgive. Kat, I wish I could go and surprise Sherry at her party too, LOL. I know what you mean about the ride out, we went for a ride again last night, in the Corvette, with the top down, it was awesome, too bad it's not the "cheap" thrill it use to be, gas $3.83 here. Jessi you do look awesome, have fun, lots of fun, but be safe. Mandy, your scoot is cute, what great gas mileage, you go girl. Sherry, I so wish we could all get together, wouldn't that be the bomb. OK, gotta go, hubby is giving me dirty looks, we're supposed to head to our beach house today, I told him I'd be ready by 10:00, well maybe 10:30, lol. They were supposed to deliver our pool at the beach house today, but now it's been pushed back till Monday . They're delivering it by truck and lifting it over the cottage with a crane, I think that will be awesome to see done. Heat must not agree with my hubby he's been quite a jerk lately. That's another entire story, lol. Hugs everyone!
  13. Ooops, Kat, how the heck are you? How's the new tummy and the new belly button. I'll bet you felt like a new woman once they pulled those drainage tubes...oh yea, big ouchie! Picture time Kat...
  14. Hey gang, it's good to see so many returneees, sounds like we're all HOT chickies, LOL. Just can't please some of us, what 2-3 weeks ago we were all bitch'n because it was too rainy or too cold, oh yeah, what happened to spring? Eileenie, darling gson is sleepin in my bed, I've got my fingers crossed all that Water he had for lunch doesn't seep out during his nap, "pop", forgot he had on his training pants and he's on my side of the bed . Oh yeah, the mom's still psycho, I came home one day last week and she's in my freakn house, hanging out with my son and gson, waiting for them to get in the pool, I was pissed. Jetti, I don't think I could stand being gone 3 weeks, 10 days is over the limit for me, 7 days is too many. Have fun! Trish, you'll do fine tomorrow. So sorry about the knee, hugs! Diane, I was wondering if you were going fishn Sat or Sun. I stayed in the pool all day Sunday, took a short jetski ride Saturday, but tried to stay cool for most of the day. Hubby and I went riding last night in the Corvette with the top down, about dusk, it was a great ride, until I started thinking ....this is no longer a "cheap" thrill, gas is at $3.89 at WaWa. And..I've got 24 vehicles on the road, yikes! Speakin of hot on the water, can you imagine how hot it is on the roof for my poor roofers. I tried to get them to just stay home tomorrow, it's supposed to be hottest day yet. Sherri, too hot for the Harley, my blood would boil from the heat of the bike motor and the asphalt. What's DS going to do now that he's graduated? Betty, I've riden to my office a couple of times, but I must say, I prefer the Corvette to the Harley now, either way the hair's screwed. Oh yeah, Ms. Eileenie, I hired this young girl, I'm hoping she'll work out, I haven't had to work for 3 days . Boy I hope my bed's not wet
  15. Hey, NC, any one from the Outer Banks area? I live in VA, but I have a beach house in KDH.
  16. DJ, I had this huge post, then lost it. I'll pm you with my phone numbers. I'd love to talk to you, I love my band, I have only one regeret and that is that the band was not available when I was 30 years younger.
  17. I'm surprised you only had a week of liquids, I was on liquids for two weeks and mushy foods for two weeks. Remember to eat lots of Protein, protein, protein. I ate lots of tuna salad with light mayo during my healing stage, also re-fried Beans, very high in protein. Take care of your band, don't over eat, it's a tool, so remember to stop eating when you're full, don't just eat because you can, that's an old (bad) habit that we need to break. Good Luck!
  18. Carla that is too funny, she told me she had told Dr. T about her car. How's the WL going? Do you like your band? DJ_Bryan, Dr. Clarke did Signgirl's band
  19. Good Morning Hampton Roads, no posts for over a month, how is everyone doing? Carla, I think that was my mother you met at your fill, she had on a pretty blue blouse and black slacks and the typical greatgrandma gray hair, LOL. Gr8t, how are you doing? Take care all.
  20. Sherry, we've got the Wii, we've had lots of fun with the bowling and golf. I saw where Kmart had the fitness software for ?? $89.00 I think or there abouts. Kat, don't over do it, where are the pictures My office girl is sick and wants me to come answer the phones because it hurts her throat to talk, I'm not a happy business owner right now, LOL. At least she came to work. Gotta run, take care every one.
  21. LOL, I am an old timer, at least 3.5 years banded. I haven't had a fill in over a year and I have recently started having small bouts of ...hmmm, I'm hungry, that's odd, so I may need a tweaking as Dr. Terracina calls it. I so enjoy where I am now, that I'm going to resist on my own, but if I start to gain, I'll be making that dreaded fill appointment. Alisa, what size band do you have? I have a 4cc with a little over 2.5, so I've still got lots of room in mine, LOL. Also, who said you'd only eat 4oz, that sounds like someone who has gastric bypass. Sounds like you've got your head on straight now, as for telling others, I'd shout it from the mountain tops, I love my band and the new me! You can do it and anytime you need someone to lean on, let me know... Hugs!
  22. Kat, I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time, ugh! I haven't had any pains with the new belly button, but believe it or not, I'm still tender, not painfully so, but tender where the lipo was done. Hugs girlie. Diane, sorry I missed the call, I was selling raffle tickets at a fund raiser for the House of Delegates, at his golf tournament. We had lots of fun and wonderful food, lots of seafood, even soft-shell crabs. Jetti, you're looking so good. Sherry, I was in a slump with wl for over a year, then dropped quite a bit before the tummy tuck. It will happen. Hugs girlies, going to bed. Nity nite!
  23. Call it what you want, but I KNOW my band has changed my "going" habits. Prior to the band, Correctol was part of my daily diet. Now 3.5 years later, the least bit of fat, ie..chips, cheese crunchies, and heaven forbid I should eat some of a bloomin onion, lol. Thank goodness my issues are the next day and not like diarrhea.
  24. Betty, we're just as glad to have you back! Hugs
  25. Good Morning Girlies Sherry, hope the neck is better soon, get DH to massage it  Jetti, we're so proud of you and your WL. Eileenie, are you doing something special today or SOS? Betty, I sure miss ya! Kat, you will feel like a new person once those drains come out. Dealing with those was truly awful, especially at shower time, BUT, I love my new tummy. I hated dumping the drains too, but when I had to wear that thing around my neck and hook the drains on it, well it made me almost pass out. When you get them taken out, be sure to take a deep breath and let it out slowly while they're pulling the drains out. I made the mistake of blowing out too fast, so keep that in mind . Sherry, the swelling is pretty much gone now, but I go back for my last follow up on Friday, I'll be having a serious discussion with my surgeon about my disappointment with the "girls". Not firm at all and certainly not small enough, I think I've mentioned I'm still a DD, ugh! Have a safe and Happy Memorial Day!
