  1. OMG. That's awesome! I like cucumbers just not by themselves. I guess those little guys are super helpful !
  2. OMG That's insane that your just now moving onto soft foods at 6 weeks out. I was sleeved July 17th and I have no restrictions besides bread, pasta, rice, corn, etc.! I would die if I had to be on liquid for six weeks. Sheesh!
  3. That's amazing!!! I can't wait until that happens for me. Keep up the good work~!!!
  4. OMG @ "thumb tacks"!!! Sheesh.
  5. I know. It is hard to take such small bites! BTW I like your picture. I wanted to take a pic of me in my hospital gear but everything happened so fast I didn't get the chance too. Waaah~!!!
  6. OMG! It's funny because I'm 13 days post op and I don't have any of those problems!!! It almost makes me wonder if my sleeve is unique or what really is wrong with me!!? lol.
  7. ooo. I'm interested in knowing the answer to this question as well. Sausage is soooooo yummy !!!
  8. 26 here. 13 days post op !!
  9. How do you know your sugar levels are low? Are you checking them everyday?
  10. OMG! I'm not familiar with kidney stones. What are they? SO you just saw them in your urine? What does it look like? How'd you know it was a kidney stone?
  11. Sometimes they just fill your pouch with air to see if any of it seeps out while your under. I believe that is the general rule of thumb and the doctors are supposed to do that while your under. The whole barium thing is each individuals doctors preference... From what I'm told at least...?
  12. You may not have a leak test done while your conscious. My doctor opted to do the leak test while I was still under anesthesia. So I have no idea what occurred! Hehe.
  13. I think you should direct this question to your dr. My dr is extremely lenient and said I could eat soups with pasta and veggies in it. Other drs only suggest straight clear liquids. I'm 10days post op and can eat regular food. I'm shocked he allowed this but he said since I don't have trouble keeping anything down go for it. Happy dance**!!
  14. Howdy! I'm 9 days post op and I'm starting to get symptoms of the common cold. I started coughing like no other. I've never cough like this. The coughs aren't frequent but there loud and kinda hard feeling. Sometimes it even hurts my diaphragm because im coughing so hard. I asked my surgeon if everything is okay and he agreed that I probably was coming down with something. I'm just nervous. Has this ever happened to anyone? Why do you think this is happening so soon. Sheesh!
  15. Oh and I'm still on liquids. Today makes 1 week post op for me. So I can't comment on the food question.
  16. I showered in the hospital the next day. Got my IV all wet but it happens. The thing I liked about the hospital shower is that it had one of those benches you can sit on while you shower. That helps tremendously. Right after surgery your so weak and tired. U really can't stand for that long. But. Day 2 I was fine. Didn't stay in as long as I normally do. But it worked!
  17. Thanks for your responses!!!
  18. My tummy did the same thing the first few days post op. now it doesn't do it anymore. But im taking some medicine for acid or something. I can't recall the name. Perhaps that'll help you too!
  19. Hi guys! I was sleeved on the 17th. Im just now really letting the gas out (i suppose). Recently I've noticed whenever I belch the blades in my left shoulder like twitch and it hurts like hell. It's a weird but quick pain. Wth is going on!? Has this happened to anyone? Is this a sign of a complication? I go to the dr tomorrow.
  20. Hi guys. I was sleeved on the 17th as well. I can't believe a week has gone by already. My biggest complaint is sleeping. My sleep has been severely disturbed. I often have to take the pain meds just to get a decent cat nap. It's horrible. I think it has to Do with me not being able to sleep on my stomach. Since my tummy is still sore, i have to sleep on my back. I normally sleep on the couch. I don't have any issues with liquids. My dr doesn't have me on proteins yet. But i know that's going to be an issue. Im not a fan of protein shakes. I brought several samples pre op and have tried a few of them. They all taste terrible and the smell of the drink makes me gag!! Omg. I can't with the protein shakes. Lol. Can't wait to feel like myself again. It's getting there...!
  21. Where am I supposed to get peppermint tea from? I've been walking today and I guess it's helping. Idk. I feel like some of my burps are stuck. Like there trying to come out but something won't let it come. So annoying. I've been popping gas x since the day or surgery. I guess that helps. Not really sure. If anything they taste good. Lol.
  22. I normally sleep on my stomach as well. I was sleeved on the 17th and I can't imagine sleeping on my tummy now. I've tried sleeping on my side but my tummy is way too sore. Unfortunately it is affecting my sleeping patterns so I'm forced to sleep on the couch. It helps but i can't wait for the soreness to go away. Waah!
  23. What are back burps? I feel like burping is thee worst. I've always had trouble truly being able to belch unless I had a carbonated beverage.... Mainly sprite or ginger ale did wonders for me. Now that i can't drink that. I'm screwed. To be honest, pre-op walking and exercise used to allow my body to at least fart. Now that's totally not the case. I walked so much yesterday and still couldn't manage to get a burp or fart out. It was absolutely ridiculous. This is frustrating. Should I drink drink a cup of gingerale!? I know for a fact that'll work. But idk if i should. Ugh!
