3 Weeks Out, Only Lost 4 Lbs In 12 Days

Recommended Posts

So frustrating. I am eating 60 gr Protein, no carbs, under 600 cal. I lost a lb day the first week, then it stopped. I don't get it. I've complained about this before, so I do apologize in advance. It just seems so slow. Just feels like my body is so "mean" to me. Yes, I am down. :(

Expecting a pound per day to continue is probably not very realistic, even this early out. That equates to 30 pounds per month, 365 pounds in a year.

Many would love to see 4 pounds in 12 days, myself included!!

You're doing fine. Patience!!

Think about this, 2lb per week for a year is 104lbs. In 18 months that's 156lbs. I understand that you'd like to see it melt away tonight, but I'll bet even if it takes 18 months that's WAAAYYYYYY faster than it was acquired.

Best advice I've ever gotten. Control what you can to the best of your ability. Then don't worry about the rest.

I too get frustrated with the rate of my weight loss. I read other people stating that they lost as much as I have within the first month and I am two months post-op. I know in my heart of hearts that everyone is different. I also know that my thyroid problem is going to make my loss slower. My husband tells me to look at the whole picture. I am down 45 pounds since my pre-op weigh in at the Doctor. This is since June 1st. When is the lst time I have been able to say I lost 45 pounds in 2 months...NEVER! I need him to remind me of these things from time to time. FYI...I sometimes go a week or more without dropping a single ounce. As long as we follow the required diet, this has to work!

And add the word PERMANENTLY to that;)

How much walking or exercise are you putting in? If you didn't do any and you ate 600 calories with a fully firing metabolism you would burn no more than 1400 calories(assuming a BMR of around 2000 cals) just being alive. So a pound is 3500 Cal. Based on that you would lose no more than 1/4 of a pound per day or just under 2lbs a week.

I think the excitement and marketing of the surgery can lead to a huge misunderstanding. Weight loss and the methods of loss are still the same with the sleeve. It's those 2 and 3 pounds we see on occasion that make us greedy! ;)

when i got in a stall like you i increased my walking instead of walking 30 minutes per day now im walking 60 minutes per day and since i started doing that i have lost 5 pounds

so my advice to you is to increase your walking and the weight should start falling off again

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
