  1. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. The pre-op liquid diets vary so much that you may only need to be on the diet for 48hours prior to your scheduled date. Peanuts and a slice of bacon is NOT going to kill you! This is a process and at the end of the day it is extremely hard to be on any diet let alone a straight liquid diet for weeks at a time. Relax and take a deep breath!! You'll be fine.
  2. OMG this is my GREATEST fear!!!!! How long were you losing your hair for? OMG! I can't even imagine OMG! How do you stop the hair loss? Sheesh!!!! I'm 3 weeks out. I'm so nervous. Please help! I am going to start taking that biosil stuff NOW! Where do I get it from? Also, what does Protein have to do with hair loss/growth? I am definitely not getting in 60g of protein per day so I guess I should definitely be worried.
  3. I agree with the post above me. I was SOOOOOOOOO nervouse about getting the EGD done. OMG, you have no idea. But, it wasn't bad at all. The worst part is the IV... especially for me since my veins are tiny. I will say I had a pretty bad sore throat for about 2 days after. That was my only issue. Good luck! You'll be fine ~!!
  4. This post is amazing. You made me chuckle. Keep up the good work~!!
  5. I have tried muscle milk and I felt like it had way too many calories. Does it come in a "diet" or "light" version... Something that reduces the amount of calories...?
  6. EAS is a brand of Protein Powder. It comes in the powder form and pre-made shakes. I like the strawberry and vanilla flavors. They have a brand called myoplex lite -carb control. Ready to drink shakes. 20g of protein per bottle. I enjoy that brand the most. I buy them from target. But you can get them online as well.
  7. Normal! I started walking day 3. Just walk for like 15 minutes or so. Nothing big. Don't get yourself all worked up. Your going to sleep allllllll day! Enjoy it. If you find yourself still tired after a week or so I would say talk to your dr. You may want to try B12. Good Luck!
  8. I'd say go with unflavored! I've wasted so much money on all these stupid flavors and couldn't stomach any of them. I brought unjury but am afraid to try it as I have been severely disappointed with all of the other brands I have. I'm thinking I am no longer going to try and make my shakes. I am planning on buy the pre-made shakes by EAS. Those seem to be the only protein shakes I can stomach that don't smell or look like s*it! Excuse my french. lol. I just can't with this protein requirement. SOOOOO over it! Ugh.
  9. I feel the exact same way! I am down over 50lbs and thought I would at least be in a different size by now. But, no I'm not. I still fit in the same clothes and I'm like WTH is going on here. Like how much weight do I have to loose in order to drop a few dress sizes...? I also still see my horrid double chin which I HATE HATE HATE!!! Ugh. It wasn't until yesterday that I saw a little difference and I didn't see the difference in my body per say. I saw the difference in the way my clothes fit. I put on this one shirt that used to be tight in the upper arms that I could barely button up and yesterday it was totally loose! So, I guess that was my confirmation that I am loosing and I can see it. I just thought loosing 50lbs would bring me down to at least two dress sizes...Waaah~!
  10. I don't think its necessary. My surgery was at 730AM and I literally slept ALL DAY. I didn't fully wake up until around 3AM and even then I was super lethargic and forced myself to walk. Don't get me wrong I was in and out of consciousness but as far as fully up and about it took me a while. I actually would have felt bad if my friend would have stayed there all night with the way I was acting. lol. But, the decision is totally up to you!
  11. I too was sleeved on the 17th. I hope everything gets better for you! Take Care~!
  12. OH MY!!! May God Continue to Bless and keep you Ms. Zeta Phi Beta!!!
  13. Ice cream is my slider. Oh yea oh yea oh yea !!!! LOVE IT!!!!
  14. What do they taste like? I've been looking for some in the store but can't seem to find any chewables. Right now I'm taking gummies but I want to convert to chewables. I feel like gummies have too much sugar. Idk. I'm just being paranoid.
  15. Before I was sleeved I read on here how everyone was talking about how slow you have to eat but I thought it was an exagerration... Um NOT! So, when does this eating very slowwwwwwwwwly and chew chew chew and only being able to take bites the size of a dime END!!!? I'm so sick of this. I mean it takes me forever to eat real food. It's sickening. Sometimes the food gets cold by the time I'm finished with it. Talk about aggravating!!!! BTW: I was sleeved July 17th just in case you need to know.
  16. I've been walking since day 1. But, my doctor said I can do full exercise at 3 weeks out which will be next Tuesday for me. I plan to hit the gym hard. I want to make it to onederland by Dec. 31st!
  17. 1. Once you've had the surgery, I think you can start strength training like a month after. That should eliminate some saggy skin. 2. I didn't poop AT ALL during my pre-op liquid diet. I was super annoyed by that. Dr. told me to take a stool softener. Which I did and it worked wonders!!! 3. I don't know much about the hair loss thing. I do agree with the above post it is all about nutrition. I've also heard you don't start losing your hair until month 3. To avoid massive amounts of hair loss, I was told to take your multi-vitamins everyday. Some people are told to take a slew of supplements such as Biotin, Calcium, magnesium etc. So I guess that wouldn't hurt either. 4. It could be normal. Some doctors do not requir a pre-op diet at all. But again, you should ask your doctor whether or not he/she requires one and if so how long will it be. The time lengths vary greatly. Some people only do 1 or 2 day(s) of a liquid diet the day before surgery. Others have to do 7 days. Others do two weeks. I've even heard of one person doing 4 weeks!!! Which is insane to me. But, the point is is that each doctor is different and requirements vary. As far as the alcohol. I definitely think you'll need to stay clear from that for a while. You need to focus on getting in all your nutrients through your food & supplements. You shouldn't waste calories on alcohol. I've also heard that your tolerance level for alcohol is completely different. Some people get totally wasted off of one drink! So, again the answers will vary. But I'm sure one day you'll be able to indulge in a nice alcoholic beverage! Good Luck~!!
  18. OMG I would DIE!!! Idk. My surgeon told me he is more lenient than other doctors. He said since I didn't have any trouble getting down liquids that I could move on to no restrictions. I am having trouble with chicken. Depending on how it's cooked, I can't seem to keep that down. Otherwise I'm fine with everything else. I definitely think its dr's preference. Which kinda blows !

That's amazing!!! I have PCOS as well and although I actually never wanted a period I do understand how you feel. My main concern was whether or not I could have children when that time came. I am praying that the terrible side effects from my PCOS become more controlled as the weight melts off. My endocrinologist told me I would see a huge difference in the symptoms once I reached 50lb WL I'm at 49LB and have not see any difference. Prayerfully I will see a difference once I reach 65lb as well. This is so inspirational. Thank You!! P.S. Have you ever taken any supplements to try and regulate your periods (birth control, metformin, glumetza etc...)?
  21. I think it depends on your digestive track. I was afraid to try lettuce. I thought it would be to hard to go down but its actually the opposite. I was sleeved on July 17th and I'm no longer have any restrictions in my diet. Just take small bites and chew very slowly! Good Luck~!!
  22. Hi Everyone! I was sleeved on July 17th. Down 18lbs so far. I wish it was more but I'll take that. I've noticed that the more you weigh, the easier it is to drop the weight at a rapid pace. With that being said, for those of us who are under 250lbs weight loss is going to be a little more of a challenge. Don't give up just keep at it and you will prevail! (I have to tell myself this everyday). Good luck to you all~!!
