  1. Oh my. Perhaps you should ask your doctor for a b12 shot!? If you don't want the shot it comes in chewables. I've seen some in Target the other day. But I hear the shot has is stronger. Good luck!
  2. WOWWWWWWWWWW!!!! That is scandalous!!! That would make good reality tv. Hehehe.
  3. Tisk tisk*!
  4. Not sure how to delete it. But you want to leave us!!!!? Waaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh !!!!
  5. Yes. It is hard to communicate with someone when they won't open their ears and just listen to you! UGh. That is super frustrating. It sounds like she's going through her own issues that she needs to communicate to you as well. Perhaps she is feeling insecure or is a tad jealous of your new success. It really sounds that way to me. You never know how people are thinking and why they react the way they do. She definitely needs to get over the fact that you have a new body. She's missing the bigger picture here. It's not about you looking good for other women. It's about you being HEALTHY and sustaining longevity in life. After all, she does want you to be around for your unborn child right? Idk what the deal is. But, I don't think the age difference is significant enough to put a damper on the relationship. At 27, she should be mature enough to convey her feelings to her husband and vice versa. Communication is definitely lacking here. The problem is what do you do if she continues to not "hear" you? Tough one! I now see why your contemplating separation. Still, keep those thoughts aside and try your hardest to understand her feelings and get her to understand yours !
  6. Hello! Did anyone completely stop taking their medication on the pre-op diet? For diabetics-- how was your bgls on the diet?
  7. Well, you two are basically still newly weds. I don't think you should look to divorce just yet. Have you tried talking to her about all the issues? Perhaps you should start there first. If need be, go to a therapist so there will be a non-biased party present. Communicate first. I do believe the both of you moving into your own space will help also. Try those two steps first!
  8. That's amazing! How much exercise have you been doing?
  9. Are you saying you want out of the marriage or you want out of your inlaws residence?
  10. I'm on the 17th. I feel the SAME way!!! My dentist's assistant had it done last year. She said she was connected to a morphine pump and pushed the button literally every 20 minutes b/c she was scared of feeling any pain. Overall, she said, she did not feel anything and didn't even need her pain meds when she was discharged from the hospital. I'm praying I have the same outcome. I can deal with a little discomfort but I in no way shape or form want to be in severe pain. OMG. I'm so nervous about that. I expressed this concern to my doctor and he thought I was being dramatic. lol. But he assured me I wouldn't be in pain just a little discomfort. We'll see...!
  11. How are you all feeling? Is anyone in severe pain or discomfort?
  12. lol. I think as long as you take your vitamins you'll be okay. Biotin is a vitamin especially made for hair and nails. It is found in most multi-vitamins but to take extra precaution you can buy it separately and take a pill per day. I guess you should really direct this question to your surgeon and see if he/she has any other directives for you.!
  13. OMG That is AMAZING!!!! Congratulations . I'm so happy for you. Have you been doing a lot of exercise?
  14. Correct. To my understanding. Plication is similar to the sleeve. However, the sleeve involves the removal of the stomach portion where ghrelin (the hunger hormone) is present where as plication does not. In plication, they just "fold" up the stomach so that it is in the form of a sleeve. I hear the problem with plication is that is does not remove ghrelin. Therefore, plication leaves you with a sleeve-like tummy but hunger is still present.
  15. OMG That is crazy!!! If that were to happen, isn't that a law suit waiting to happen? That's very negligent. WTH!!!! My surgeon has never said anything like that to me. I totally understand your fear. That's ridiculous.
  16. I totally understand where you're coming from. I decided not to tell anyone who I don't think will be supportive. And unfortunately, that included my family members. Only three people know that I am scheduled for surgery and that is because I need drivers to and from the hospital! lol. If I could drive myself trust me no-one would know!!! Either way, I am going to have the same dilemma. I think you can just tell people you are on a high protein low calorie diet which consists of lots of exercise! After all, that is not a lie... !?
  17. Are you copying me!!!? Bwahahahahaha. I ordered Unjury as well. I really wanted to try the strawberry flavor. I hope they re-stock it soon. I love that flavor. Anywho, thanks for the info!
  18. OMG have fun but be careful !!!!
  19. Oh and I also brought the syntrax matrix sample sizes. They seem to have milk shake like flavors... I hope their yummy! I did buy a pre-made protein shake from target the other day. EAS something... I had strawberry cream. It was good. But only 17g of protein per serving. That's annoying. I would like to have something with at least 20g of protein per serving. I'm going to keep looking!
  20. Oh I didn't know you could request different flavors. I just selected some package that was already put together. Idk! Either way, let me know what you think about the flavors you try. Also, I want to know what ingridients you will use. I've been trying to figure out how I'm going to make all these flavors taste decent... Some of them I wouldn't dare mix with Water. It just sounds yucky! lol.
  21. My problem(s) with the band is 1. there are way too many people suffering from complications which result in them either having the band removed or converting from band to sleeve. 2. I didn't like the fact that there are certain foods that you can no longer eat.. i.e. soda, breads, Pasta, corn etc. I know several people who have the band and if they even try to eat a piece of bread they instantly vomit. At least with the sleeve you can eventually eat whatever you want in moderation. Of course certain foods are a no no but you can still choose to indulge and not end up in the ER! 3. The fills can be very expensive. It depends on your insurance carrier, but I heard the fills can range anywhere from $100- $300 per fill! That's insanity. And I'm not into needles so I can't be bothered with that! 4. And this is the most important for me. People have a hard time losing weight! WTH is the point of having WLS if your going to loose 10lbs in 3 months!!!? Hell, I can do that on my own!!! If I'm having surgery I want to see rapid results! Don't get me wrong I do know one person who has lost slightly over 100lbs in a year. But she is miserable!!!!! She LITERALLY (and I'm not exaggerating) only eats mushies... Mainly mashed potato's & chili and she constantly complains about food getting "stuck" then she has to force herself to vomit. Who wants to live like that!!!? Yes, the band is reversible but to me it serves no purpose. I quickly changed my mind and said SLEEVE all the way!!! Good luck with your decision.
  22. OMG!!! THAT's INSANE!!!! Sheesh. Although that is some shocking news. I won't allow it to deter me. I start my pre-op on Saturday. One more day to eat eat eat!!!! Hehe.
  23. I received my sample pack as well. But, I have more flavors in my pack. Where did you order yours from? I ordered mine from mybariatricpantry.com.
