  1. This is a pure baby whine-but this is the only place I can do it. Do you ever feel jealous of those who have so much less weight to lose. I look around the site at people's tickers and I say to myself-If I were that person I would be at goal-when the reality is that after losing 98 pounds I am barely halfway there--I know its trite and I should be grateful but I have really been stuck on this lately. Any Wisdom?
  2. OMG:confused: I must have tried 20 times. I got it baaad!:car:
  3. I bought running shoes today--I love them. I promised my self I would run 6 times before I bought them and did that today! I did week 2 run 2 and it was a little easier this time. I am really loving this. I am glad it is fairly cool though, I wouldn't want to tryn this in the heat!! You guys are all doing great--Hooray for us!!!!:clap2:
  4. It's the time of year for pumpkin pie which I adore-So I made up a lapband friendly substitute. 1 can PLAIN pumpkin 1 pkg of sugar free instant Jello pudding mix-vanilla 1 to 1.5 cups of skim milk (depending on how thick you want it) A sprinkle of nutmeg and cinnamon Mix with a whisk in a bowl and refrigerate for about an hour. It is a delicious healthy treat!! Enjoy
  5. Hooray for you!!!!!!!!!
  6. I did my first try at week 2. It wasn't too bad. It was kindof muggy here so it made it a little tough. Bet Thursday will be easier. How are all of you doing today???
  7. I finished week one on Saturday. I was planning to start week 2 today but woke up with some sort of stomach bug. This is the first time I have felt sick since banding. I am very nervous about throwing up...so far so good. I had some crystal light and some crackers and think the worst has passed. Looks like running will have to wait until tomorrow!:sick
  8. Give yourself some credit! 14 pounds in three weeks is amazing!!!!:clap2:
  9. Often, it takes several fills to reach restriction. Chances are this fill is not going to affect you. I would make another fill appointment as soon as your Dr allows. This is indeed bandster hell, but you are nearing the end of it!!!:whoo:
  10. Exercise can really help fill this gap of what to do. It also speeds your weight loss, alleviates depression, strengthens your body etc. At this time of major change start making exercise part of your routine. You won't regret it!!
  11. If you were not very nervous it would concern me more. This is an important decision and if you didn't question it at some point I don't think you would be taking it seriously enough. I am 3 months out and 40 lbs down since my surgery!:clap2:
  12. HI-Welcome to the board! I think a week is reasonable for most people. I have heard people go back sooner, but very few who have needed longer. I bet you will be just fine!
  13. Welcome to tthe board! How is life with the band for you?
  14. Number three for me too! Luckily many have been polite or respectful. But there have been several whose comments start with a high pitched OH MY GOD......that's when you know you are in trouble!!!!
  15. No problem with tummy sleeping here!
  16. Hooray for you, joining the half century club, isn't it great to be able to move around without all that extra weight!!!
  17. Went in at nine and out by 5-didn't feel a lot of pain until the next day and then only for a day or 2.
  18. It took about 50 lbs for folks to notice. I started at 330. Beleive it or not I lost in my Butt first. I think it was because I was doing a lot of walking.
  19. Welcome Jazlady--the more the merrier!!!!:bounce:
  20. I have to confess that I went again today before I read your posts. You are right-can't tell I have an addictive personality!!!!! It feels so great to be able to run. I can really feel how much lighter I am when I am running. Sometimes it hard to get used to, but I really feel I am thinner when I am running. I think the every other day would be fine. I am going to try to wait until Friday. Maybe I will go to a yoga class tomorrow night, since I skipped Sunday due to my sore glutes.
  21. I know we are supposed to skip a day, but I did the week one run again yesterday. I am really enjoying it. Don't think I will today though, because of commitment during the daylight! Glad to hear you are all enjoying this. Thanks so much to JLM for getting us all started.
  22. I feel that the lapband is perfect for someone who can lose weight but can't maintain the loss. Being able to lose weight means that you can and will make good eating decisions. The lapband makes it easier to do it long term.
  23. I have a heart monitor watch that you can program so that it tells you the number of calories you burn during an excercise session. I got it at Walmart for around $30. I have been very happy with it.:biggrin1:
  24. One important rule in my house-Don't touch Mama's food!!!!!:Banane35: This happened once and it was the last time. Taking my food is like taking my medicine-it is off limits. I need to know that the food is there when I want it, otherwise I feel like I should eat it while I can. It makes me feel secure and wait til I am really hungry to eat it.:hungry:
  25. Glad you are feeling better-Good luck on your journey!
