  1. I read that too, crazy. I would actually be afraid to lose that much soooo fast...
  2. Julie - you are brave, girl. Your legs in the after look so much sleaker. Who would have thought! I guess maybe I don't have a high tolerance for pain, but everytime I look at these pics I hurt all over. I know it sounds dumb, but I guess for the after results, its worth it. All I can say is WOW!
  3. Ok, so I tried week 3 workout I'm not sure what number now, did half. Couldn't do the other half. Trainer said to go back to week 2 and do it for a couple of weeks to build up endurance. I really just wish I could run for 5 minutes straight. But I guess if I could do that, I wouldn't necessarily need the c25k program...I don't know. I also think it would help if I could lose a little more weight, but thats also been at a standstill. I'm definately going to try lowcarbing it for a little while. See if that'll do the trick. I know that the lighter I am, the easier its going to be....
  4. Tallgirl, congrats on the loss...70lbs is AWESOME!!! I think thats what I was trying to get at, but never did. This thanksgiving is going to be so different from last year. I got rid of 42lbs and feel better than ever. I think that even though some of us are in a rut, and I'm definately one of them, we have a lot to be thankful for. I love my band and don't regret this decision for a minute.
  5. I was going to say that too....Maybe I spend too much time hanging out here!
  6. Ok, week 3 workout ?, I could only do half again. I'm thinking about stepping backwards to week 2 and starting again from there. 1hr with personal trainer (upper body).
  7. I sometimes wonder if its because we're not posting as much anymore...It always motivated me to read how everyone else is doing.
  8. Well, to be honest, I'm not so sure I'm at my sweet spot, but if the doc fills me up any more, even just 1cc, I can't hold down liquids, so I end up where I am, 2.0ccs in my 4cc band. But I also feel like I'm eating easy foods, instead of protein dense foods, then veggies, etc.
  9. Good way of thinking....
  10. Dems...it looks like you're only 24lbs away from goal. 24LBS!!!! It sucks when you get stuck in a rut, but don't dwell on it. Like OH Juli said, think of the reasons that you had surgery in the first place. You want to be healthy and happy, and be there for your family....And 24lbs is soooo close. Also, it sounds like a lot of the marchies are in the same boat. I know I am. And I'm going back to my old habits. My problem is that I think I can eat whatever I want just because I went to the gym. Not true. And we all know that, that's why we're here..... So fresh start, you're going to step away from the junk, slowly. Put down the cookie. Go for a walk, even if its not a workout walk, just a stroll. It'll help you get your mind off the cookies!
  11. Thanks losing, I do notice that I'm fuller with the protein and fat, then I am with any other combo with carbs. I'm going to work on cutting them out!
  12. Now, do you just eat until your full, or do you watch your carb intake, calorie intake, or both?
  13. Check out the exercise thread, I think thats the problem...
  14. I just posted something about this in the november exercise thread...I have to ask, with eating approx 20 carbs per day, do you feel like you don't have enough energy to work out? I mentioned the low carb thing to my trainer and she told me not to do it. But my body responded so well to atkins in the past, I'm thinking it may be the only thing that works...
  15. Oh yeah, And I'm purchasing a whole case of losingjusme's atkins caramel latte shakes...
  16. Ohhh, I obviously was a little confused! Ok, so I've been thinking about why my weight loss is so slow, and I'm working out a whole hell of a lot (not in the past week or so, but overall), and I'm thinking that my eating is not thaaaaat bad...but I think it is. I'm starting a diet overhaul and I promised myself not to do it until January because of the holidays, etc. But why wait? I can do it and take a few days off here or there for holidays, why does every day need to be a food fest? I think I'm going to go low carb, it seems to work for a lot of people on here, and I never realized how much sugar I am actually consuming....a lot! I'm shocked. I'm not one to write down my total intake, really annoys me. I tried it a few days, and noticed I was consuming approx 1800 calories, which doesn't seem huge to me. But I really paid attention to WHAT I was eating, WHAT those 1800 calories were, and they were mostly sugar, or white carbs, yuck. So, after I go grocery shopping this weekend, I'm stocking up on high protein, lower carb junk. And I'm getting rid of the white fluffly junk....
  17. Don't kid yourself, total, my doc wants me losing 150lbs. I've lost 40. I personally would like to lose 75 more. We'll see about the extra 35lbs...
  18. Wow Daddy, 65lbs is sooo awesome. I'm hoping to lose that in 1 year, let alone 4 months....Wow. I'm going to the gym tonight for another try at c25k, but I'm not sure exactly which week I'm going to try. I voted for week 3, but it annoys me to run for 90 seconds now. I feel like, if I'm going to run, I should just run. Even though, thats sometimes how people get hurt...I'll have to think about it...
  19. I love my personal trainer, she really kicks my butt, and it makes me accountable. Even on the weeks when I'm having a "bad" week, I still see her 3 times a week for an hour each. So thats not too bad. The trainers pregnant right now, and she's due in Feb/March, so I was trying to find someone else to take over for the 2-3 months that she'd be out, but I don't think I'm actually going to. I think I'm just going to put in some hardcore cardio time to try to lose the flubber, then get back with her late spring/summer to tone up for the big day. The wedding countdown is on, and I have to fit in a dress....hope they have enough fabric!
  20. Yeah, I'm going to get back on the whole running thing today after work. I haven't tried since last tuesday. Lazy bum!
  21. Yes, recumbent bike. I've never tried that one. I get it all the time in spin and on the elliptical...
  22. Article from MSNBC.com Your workout did what ? - Smart Fitness - MSNBC.com Q: My feet go numb below the ankles when doing certain exercises, such as the elliptical trainer, step aerobics and even urban rebounding. How can I make it stop? A: Are your shoelaces too tight? That's the first thing to check. Restrictive shoes could pinch a nerve, says Matt Werd, a podiatrist in Lakeland, Fla., and president of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. If that's not the culprit, another possible explanation is something called "exercise-induced compartment syndrome," he says. During exercise, muscles may increase in volume and exert pressure on blood vessels and nerves, causing numbness as well as pain, skin-color changes and poor circulation. If your feet start to fall asleep, switch activities and see if that helps, Werd advises. "If symptoms persist, follow up with a sports-medicine specialist for an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan," he says.
  23. You need visuals? Hmmmm.....
