  1. I went to my 1 week pre-op appt today. I have lost a total of 24 pounds. Everything is doing well. I got a script for an acid reducer because I had one night where the acid reflux was unbearable! My doc wants me to stay on clear liquids for 3 more weeks!!!!!!! I think I may go crazy!!!!
  2. I'm 1 week post op today. I'm gassy, sore and tired. But I wouldn't trade it for the world!! I have burning/soreness in the biggest incisions so I use a heating pad to combat that. I don't get all my fluids in and I have only been doing one protein shake a day. Every time I drink I have the gurgling thing to. I'm not humgry, I just wish I had more choices to drink/eat. I go to my 1st post op appt tomorrow so I hope he advances me to full liquids. I don't want any more jello ( I purchased too much) and I think that I will not eat the pudding I bought either!
  3. Great Job! I'm 1 week post op today, I would do a lap and go back to bed. The nurse did say it seemed like it took me a long time to get over the anestethsia though.
  4. Have you tried New Whey protein shots. I purchased a few from CVS. Haven't tried them yet though.
  5. I didn't get a restriction band.

Good luck on your test!! Glad to hear that things are going good for you!
  7. I was sleeved on 3/21. I'm struggling with protein and fluid intake. But most of all the biggest incision feels like it is stitched too tight!! i can't sit up from laying or cough without extreme pain from this one incision. Will he have to go in and loosen it? it is like i have an extra belly button!
  8. same here. Sleeved on 3/21. just got released today because i had IV problems. i couldn't keep anything down. i think that is getting etter tho.. i came home with 7 presciptions!!! Good luck and God bless to all of you!
  9. I'm a 3/21 sleever too Good luck!!
  10. Hello all. I have 250lbs to lose. I am 5'7" and weigh 440lbs. My doctor and I both agree that 200lbs is a good goal weight. I go in to get sleeved tomorrow 3/21/12. I'm nervous and excited. I haven't done great on the pre-op diet and my biggest fear is the surgery being canceled or having complications. Although I do admit that I did eat a lot less fat, carbs and calories in the last 2 weeks than I have ever done before. My hopes after surgery are very optimistic. I have a good friend who was sleeved in April 2011 and has lost 200lbs to date. Between him, my family, my bariatric team and God, I plan on making this work for me. I have never in my life lost more than 5 lbs and I have been overweight my whole life. Here's to a great brand new beginning!!!!
  11. 1st off let me say that today I found out that I passed my RN state license exame!! Whoo Hoo for me right?!! Yea it's wonderful. Everybody wants to take me out to eat. Issue: I get sleeved on Wednesday. Like the day after tomorrow, Wednesday. I am feeling a certain way because I think, " What wil I do to resist temptation?" I'm hungry and food is always a wonderful gift. i think of all the times I was gifted food. More times tan I can count. I'm worried that after I get sleeved, I won't be able to resist the temptations of these food offerings. The summer is fast approaching and I usually don't eat alot when it's hot but what about the holidays. i know I'm just stressing but I figured why not vent to people who actually know how I feel and what I'm goung through.
  12. I can't wait to go to a gathering with music and dance to more than one song before I get exhausted! I can't wait to be able to buckle my car seatbelt without making a major effort to get the two parts to meet! I can't wait to sit in a plastic outdoors chair without fear of it breaking. I can't wait to go on more outings like plays & concerts without being worried if the seat will be too tight. I can't wait to travel since I have never flown for fear of having to buy two seats!
  13. Caongrats to you both on being sleeved!!!!
  14. Yes LMD, You are such an inspiration to us all. I look at your before and after and she my self and know it can be done. One things is that you are smiling in both pics. That lets me know you are a happy person and if comes from within. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
  15. Good luck and God Bless. i am being sleeved 2 days before you. I think my pre-op diet would have been easier if I hadn't been told different things. You seem clear on what you have to do so, IT WILL WORK!!!
  16. Good luck to you!!! I have never been banded and I have 250 lbs to lose. My surgeon gave me a list of drugs that I can't take after I get sleeved on 3/21. Of course the list incuded my beloved Advil/Ibuprofen for my monthly cramps(Nothing else works!!). My surgeon reassured me that he would try what ever he could to find a pain reliever that will ease my pains and is not on the forbidden list. Jot that down as a question to ask your surgeon so you can explore your options. And again good luck and God bless.
  17. 31 yearsold. Single, no kids. Just finished RN school in January. Getting sleeved on 3/21!!!
  18. Thanks and good luck to you too. The time will fly by!!
  19. Hello. I am having my surgery on 3/21 at Riverside Hospital in Newport News!!
  20. You ladies are awesome!!!!!!!
  21. Thanks ladies!! They didn't specify to lose any paticular amount. I don't want to gain and I want liver shrinkage
  22. I hope every thing works out for you. The only comorbidities I have are back pain and joint pain. I have to cease advil which is the only thing that helps those pains and cramps. Everything will be ok!!
