Like Tell the dogs. Bad boy lay down... So I've been a bad boy and I'm laying down whats not on my schedule to eat. Right Hand held high as I say "I PROMISE"

Have You Experiance A Really Down Couple Of Days?
Margie Yes I have experienced a couple of really bad days just like you have. Know what brought me to grips with it? "Its just a couple of days". Before it was almost everyday. I no longer make apologies for it either. Hey people my body is changing (for the better) and so are my feelings and emotions (also for the better) Deal with it or you get the "OLD ME".. My family rather not have the "OLD ME". I have always worn my heart on my sleeve. I spent 26 yrs as a police officer and 11 years in the funeral business...You'd think I could be pretty cold and emotionless. Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Just put the Wizard of Oz on TV and when Dorothy clicks them damn heels and tells Toto their going back to Kansas the flood gates open. I read newpapers and see stories about kids and I can end up crying at Breakfast. In church we sing songs that bring out emotions and the tears will flow. (and I'm front and center in the choir lol). Never was and never will be afraid to show my emotions. Holding them in is what causes the problems where the medications they want to give you become necessary. But I am fortunate.... I can talk to my wife about it and she understands and is very comforting. But if I couldn't I'd find someone who will share it. Even here I find comfort in things I read and many times I laugh and say "Well everyone has a twin somewhere and here he/she is" I get lots of comfort reading the responses from people here also and that goes a long way from me continually dumping on my family. Alex has a very good suggestion to and I find it has worked more for me now then before and that is exercise. Thow on the old tennies and out the door I go. Before my journey I'd get the same comfort from jumping in the car and driving. But then I wasn't reaping the bennies from the walk. After a short time walking, the emotions settle down and by the time I get home I'm fine. Jack is right too ( of cousre you knew that he is a man and we are always right...just ask us we'll tell you)... We have to thank God for our lives and that fact that we are still here and able to do something to help us stay longer. The small boats that we are in that large sea do become visible when we gather together as a fleet of ships. All to help each other. I too am 54 years old and as Teresa has so kindly pointed out its time for us to consider menopause. HEY WAIT... I think I'm exempt from that.. Oh heres another "Thank God" Teresa you don't need to think your husband is driving you crazy... lol thats what we are supposed to do. Sounds like he's doing ok there and if you ever find out how to really keep him from bothering you your going to be rich LOL. Just publish your findings LOL Becky, my dear Becky how can anyone who rides a Harley have depression lol You have ATTITUDE... I also find that the emotions get easier to control now that I have a little more time in bandworld. margie you read about the meidacations I'm going to research this break you ladies take from men called men-o-pause. Lucky for me my wife is much younger. I'll probablty be too old to care by the time she gets there. LOL God bless you all and hang in there Margie. Your just fine

NSV anyone?
Got a phone call from one of the tellers at my Credit Uion. She said she mentioned to my son when he was in that his dad sure looks like he lost a lot of weight. She told me my son just beamed and said "Yes he is trying very hard and his whole family is very proud of him" She said she knew I had surgery because I'm vocal about it. She asked him if she could call me and he told her yes. Well we talked to day and she has jjst about all the same medical problems most of us have here and she wants to look seriously into this surgery. So i invited her to our Support Group meeting this week at Dr Office and she is coming. Nov 22 our Dr is having a pre surgery conferance and she will be coming to that. So looks like I have a new recruit LOL. I hope she follows thru as life sure in better on the LAP BAND EXPRESS

Burping & Farting
Phew, It has taken me some time to be able to post to this thread. I'm telling you my incisions hurt like hell from laughing. Now since your all being honset here I'm not going to muck up the Water with falsehoods. I fart/burp on command. Alway have and always will. But this surgery has actually made it easier(if that was possible) but the down side is it is unpredictable. I am an instructor at one of the local colleges part time and one of the classes I teach is with the Police Academy. There I was three weeks after surgery standing in front of 53 students when I dropped the earser I was holding. Since bending over and picking things up has gotten to be a much easier task I had no fear of bending and struggling to reach the floor. So smiled to myself and said "watch this" as I bent to pick up the eraser. Just as I reached the maximun point of bend I realized that I was in serious trouble as I knew what was comming. Oh boy was that embarrassing. Took the class at least 15 minutes to settle back down. Will take me the rest of my life LOL Butt if having more gas and louder rectal amplification is the worst side effect of this surgery then I'll just life with it. Of course I understand the married ladies her farting but how is it the single ladies due. I heard it said until you ladies marry you don't have an ---hole.

What was some of the things
I have the biggest problem with the Water. Told not to drink one hour before, during, or one hour after eating. Now they have me on six smaller meals a day so right there that 12 of the 24 hours I cannot drink. Then I take 20 minutes to eat each meal so that I chew well and allow the food to go in and trigger my brain (what little I have left) to remind me I'm full. Another 2 hours to do this. And I sleep min of 6 hours a day. That leaves me with 4 hours to dump in 64 ounces of water. Phew and I swear some where in my system the water multiplies. I put in 6 oz and I let out 8oz. In with 4 more and out with 6. Geez will it ever end. Sometime I think of eliminating the middle man and just got into bathroom and pour the water straignt into the toilet. I have not yet had a PBing experiance. I do chew my food very well but have had a few of those early swallows and had some severe discomfort. But fortunatley for me the discomfort has always passed quickly. I cut my meat into such small pieces I don't have to chew them LOL. Not taking any chances. I also have had trouble following some of the suggestions. Like browm rice and paste instead of white. This morning I went to the store and I did pick up Whole Wheat Pasta Rigitonis and I just made some for lunch. They are as good if not better then the white. So I will venture into the Dark side of the food world and try more of the healthier choices. I chew gum all the time. Keeps me from wanting to put things in my mouth, other then my foot occassionally. But not carbs or calories in the foot. I already know that Thanksgiving dinner will be a hard time. It has always been my favorite day. So I am making six identical little meals of turkey, potatoes and stuffing and just enjoying it. Ate enough pumpkin pie last weekend to satisfy me this year.

Any One Up For an Exercise Challenge?
Penni, Hope you feel better soon. I know about pain in the port area. I was reaching into a shopping cart to get some screws off the bottom of the cart, at Home Depot and I caught to edge of the cart right on my port. Geeeeeeeez that hurt. Now my port is tipped up slightly and I think thats a result of the "Edge of the cart vs the port area confllict." doesn't hurt anymore but now my port is kind of visible when I stand up. When I look down I can see it stick out (along with other things I haven't seen from this view in many years).... Get minds out of gutters speaking of my toes.

Back and Banded
Melissa, I read a newpaper article about a woman who was stabbed 5 times in the belly in Mexico and has lived and returned to her home to tell about it. WAS THAT YOU ??? lol I know everyone tells you to drink all that Water but make sure you have bandaides on your holes or it just leaks out all over. Stand on grass and drink and water your lawn at same time. Seriously now... Glad your home and as you have already been told it gets better by the day.. drink the water you need it and Michelle takes same Vitamins I do. I buy the costco ones. But Flintstones are rated nationwide as the best daily Vitamin and they taste good. Welcome to BAND WORLD. We have as many charaters here as Disney World We just don't wear costumes
