Welcome home, Hey really if he doesn't clean them dishes I'll do them for you. The gas is probaly from you being empty. The diet your on before surgery and then no eating the night before you get pretty cleaned out. AS I have said all along I am gassier now then I ever have been but hell I'm a guy. Keeps my work space clear when I want peace and quiet LOL

Betty...WOW 4 pounds... Thats fantastic. Cyber hugs to you (squeezing tight cause I need some of that to rub off on me). This is the first time that I have not had a weight loss over a weeks time BUT I am not complaining. I'm rejoicing cause my present weight is one I haven't been at in over 17 yrs so I think my body said "Lets stop and smell the Roses". Also we had a dinner party here Saturday night and some fool bought Pumpkin Pie and I kknow personally how that topped with whip cream can put weight on so I saved few friends from a weight gain buy eating their share. So to not have gained is actually a MAJOR victory. Plus it was the first time I have actually went outside the Meal plans I have and I have learned not to do that again until the next 68 pounds come off. LOL Oh my another 68 pounds off and I'll be 195 pounds.. Last time I was that weight was my second week home after being born. Ok I'm pulling your leg I was one year old. Anyway I'm still an extremely happy camper with everything so next week I'm hoping Betty"s Hug will help me. Making a real effort this week. Good luck to every one else. PS Lisa. Becky, I don't think you have to worry too much. The port is between the skin and muscle so the needle only passes thru the skin and into the port. I've had too fills and never felt either and they had trouble getting into my port becaase it has tipped. May face a minor proceedure down the road to correct this tipping but Dr says as long as they know its tipped they will be able to hit it on first try. 1st fill it was 4 pokes to find it 2nd fill was one poke but he had to hunt with the needle to get in. Never once felt the needle or anything. Needle out little clean up of the entry area and buy the time I got home you couldn't even see where they went in. You'll be fine. And this is from a guy who passes out at blood test.

Alex, Go out and take the world...Its yours now. You didn't do what you did for compliments but for your family and yourself. The compliments just happend to be good side effect. Just tell people exactly what you did and only tell them how you did it if you want. I tell everyone that ask how I did it but only after telling them That "I took my life back and NOW I AM in control not food, habits or anyone else". If people don't ask or compliment you don't worry they noticed. Never worry about what others think about you. You know you deserve a good life with family and friends and be proud of your accomlishments like we are of you. Hmmmm Wish I could get into my wife's jeans LOL

Also keep in mind when the band is first put on the stomach it casues the area where the band is to swell and fight the foreign object. The bands do not have Fluid (fill) added to them when first put in. Once the swelling goes down the stoma opens more and then we eat more. The band gets a fill when this happens and then its a game between our systems and the fills. Right now I am on 1600 calories a day intake. My band has to have an adjustment to allow me to pass the amount of food thur during normal waking hours so I get all the proper benifits from my diet. When I lose enough weight and have my calorie intake reduced, so will the amount of product going thru be reduced. So the band may have to be tightened some to allow the food to stay in upper pouch longer thus maintaining the full feeling longer so I don't overeat. Once I get to my ideal weight the band needs to be where the calories in and out match so that weight is maintained there should not have to be any other fills.

A year ago this Month I had to have carpol tunnel surgery on my wrists. They did the left one first. I had to go to the fire department to get my wedding ring cut off and it left the deepest groove. Hard to believe there was blood getting to the tip of that ring finger. Well when I started to consider this lapband I didn't bother to get ring sized up. Late week when my brother in law got married I saw the ring in the dresser and i tried it on. IT fits.(NSV) AS soon as I lose anther 20 pounds I will get it repaired . I do miss wearing it. You can see in my signature below my other NSV. I am so happy that this is working for me and my family. God bless you all

Hey I went to a Family Wedding last Friday night in my newly taken in suit. My mother in law walked right past me and didn't recognize me. I was in heaven. Then my sister in law had to go spill the Beans that I was there. Some poeple are alive just because its illegal to kill them.

Michelle, Good luck with your first post op visit. I was there today and the Dr practiced on me so he knows what he is doing when you get there. LOL Not losing as much weight as I did in beging but thats ok. Lost another inch off waist and inch and a half off hips and another 1/2 off neck. Feel like the wicked witch of the west and someone threw Water on me. LOL (for you youngsters thats from the Wizzard of Oz.)

Your welcome Teresa. I was supposed to get a fill in morning but do to things beyond my control I had to move the appointment. They wanted me to wait till Monday. After about 20 minutes of crying on the phone they agreed to let me come in at 12:30 today.lol So off to shower and then go get my new restrictions.

Ok Mom, I went back and changed it. Maybe they ignored me cause I used to carry a gun for a living (lol). I'll be more careful in future keep us both out of trouble. Promise....Now can I please have that Salad??? Love ya Betty

See Veronica I told you that Darn dust. Gets my allergies all worked up the adds weight to the scale LOL But this week I lost a pound of fat, thats 16 oz of pure lard gone for good so I'm letting it build up. Go in for a fill Friday.
