Heard a couple of paper napkin suppliers are going out of business Nancy.. Hmm they may be looking for you.Ryan. I too had to get saran wrap and now my house is piling up with them little container you get when you take what you don't finish home from a resturant. Actaully looking for a local tupperware PArty lol Nancy your post gave me a real laugh... I read to fast the fisrt time and didn't read "solitary" as "solitary". LOL thought what the hell...Women use them things for the wierdest stuff... Actually when I worked at the gas company when I was 18 we uses straps with clips and hook up and used them as sweet bands on our foreheads. Maybe it was just me getting in touch with my femanine side.

There are time when I feel my restriction is gone and I'll dump in just a bit too much and boom there it is. the false heart attack. I have learned that it is a tool and its there to assist me and when I start tempting fate is sneeks out of hiding and kicks my butt. Trust it Lisa its not going anywhere.

New Grandson Alert!
Pam, Thats great news. Is it your first grandchild?? My wife and I found out two weeks ago that in this coming July we are going to be first time grandparents. We all excited here too. Your grandchild was the same birthweight and lenght as I was. My problem was the height stopped before the weight did. you see I never thought I was to heavy just to damn short. 7'2" and my height and weight would have been in line. Oh well. Wish your sol the best on them their heels.

New and Interested
My Insurance Co Blue cross and Blue Shield of Michigan paid the entire bill which includes one year of as many visits and fills I need. My only expense is my consult fees with the nutritionalist. Shhh don't tell her I said this but as good as she is she can raise her fees and I'd pay them.

weekly scale challenge
Delarla LOL Winkin back at you, And dropping it here LOL phew could get in real trouble.

weekly scale challenge
Lauri I'd say what delarla said Mmmm, carbs. Feelin' ya, sister. But I'd get slapped. lol Pizza was and still is my downfall. Pizza can be anything you want it to be. Can be a great spaggetti dinner on Sunday nite, Terriffic Prime Rib on a friday nite, Taste great as a cereal any day for breakfast. You get the idea. Hell before banding when the family ordered pizza for a meal and I was there it was always one extra large pizza just for me. No kidding the whole thing was mine and I'd eat it all. Now I can't get two whole slices of a 12 slicers down. So I'm slowly realizing it just isn't what it used to be and that brings tears to my eyes. But does not bring weight to the hips.

weekly scale challenge
Lauri, like everyone here says don't beat yourself up over this. Self mutilation is no good. You made a mistake and realized it and want to correct it. Before when you over ate you didn't consider it a mistake but the way things were and you took no action to correct it. Hell before the band I only ate one meal a day and gained weight. Now I eat three small meals and two very enjoyable snacks and I'm losing weight. Secret is the intermission that I know take between spoonfuls of food. You'll be alright stick with these ladies here they won't steer you wrong. Delarla I was under the impresion you were Numero Uno in Vegas????

Explaining Lap Band to Kids?
Bright, Don't know if you have had you date set yet or if you have had the talk with your kids but I agree with those who say to be honest with them. fortunately for me my kids area all grown 28/23/21/19 but I still had them asking questions like Why such drastic measures. After a nice family dinner and conversation they understood. My two sons took up all the work of seeing I was able to get around after surgery and handled anyting I needed done. My two daughters actually went out and got ME the Teddy Bear for the hospital. I still love it too LOL. My wife was 100% behind me on having it done and it really helped when the kids saw it was a joint effort and we included them. Since mine were older I explained the proceedure to them and my oldest son went to Dr with me for first visit and saw the video. The younger kids, in my humble opinion don't need all the details. just need to be talked to so they feel part of the family. I'd tell the kids the reason I have to stay is for rest. LOL( Is that really possible in a hospital.) Good luck... Take my word for it your biggest worry will actually be what to do with all the clothes that don't fit anymore.

Blue Cross HMO anyone hear of this?
When I retired from the police department I was given the reitrees insurance which is traditional Blue Cross and Blue Shield. When I was working I had Blue Cross PPO. When I called about the surgery they told me it was covered as long as I meet the requirements which in my case was no problem. Once I got all the paperwork it was approved very quickly. B/C & B/S have paid everything except a few minor costs covering the excersice program and follow up with a nutritionalist. But so far my out of pocket hasn't been over $200.00. And I'd pay lot more then this if I had to. The cost of our surgery is set up that all visits no matter how many are covered for one year from date of surgery. After that my insuracne will cover visits and fills. Also they have already told me that after one year of being banded they will cover the plastic surgery for removal of an apron if one exsist. All they need is a letter from my dr stating that this surgery is necessary for health reasons. Sionce I picked up on my exercising my weight loss has slowed almost to a stand still but my body is making adjustments that I like, (lossing inches and flab areas are firming uo). Even my apron isn't falling like I expected it too and it appears if I stay on track I may be able to forgo that surgery. I'd love to have it now as it would probably be an instant 25-30 pond loss. But I'll be happy to try the hard way first. My problem is that the Police Department where I used to work is being offered a very good contract. One of the conditions is they have to except a change in retirees insurance to Comm Blue I from B/C & B/S. Unfortunatley I don't have a say in this. I understand that the officers are against the city touching anything the retirees have and have opposed this so far. I fear the city will offer them more salary now as the change in the insuracne will save them lots of money down the road. If they chage to the new plan for me I'm not sure what will be covered. Except I do know they have to honor what they have covered up to now. The city that I work for now gives me $2,000.00+ cash every Dec NOT to take the insurance they offer other ful time employees. Cost them about $7,000.00 a year to have me on the insurance so I understand giving paying me not to take it is sound business. The insurance in this country is in serious need of overhauling.

Can't get FLU shot
Tips for Beating the Flu <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> <o:p></o:p> With the shortage of flu shots this season, here's an alternative. <o:p></o:p> Think about it, when you go for a shot, what do they do first? Clean your arm with alcohol. Why? Because alcohol kills germs. <o:p></o:p> So...... <o:p></o:p> <LI class=MsoNormal style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo6">Walk to the liquor store (exercise) <o:p></o:p><LI class=MsoNormal style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo6">Put lime in your <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Corona</st1:City></st1:place> (fruit) <o:p></o:p><LI class=MsoNormal style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo6">Celery in your Bloody Mary (veggies) <o:p></o:p><LI class=MsoNormal style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo6">Drink on the bar patio (fresh air) <o:p></o:p><LI class=MsoNormal style="mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto; mso-list: l2 level1 lfo6">Get drunk, tell jokes, and laugh (eliminate stress) <o:p></o:p> Then pass out (rest). <o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> The way I see it, if you keep your alcohol levels up, flu germs can't get you!!!!
