  1. My Dr said same thing as Michelle's but added that when your overweight your body is alway warmer cause your heart is working harder to function and this raises the body temp. Prior to being banded I would sweat in a cold shower in the middle of winter. Never had covers over my oversized naked body in bed. Now, I still take cold showers ever now and then LOL but don't sweat, and I can't find enough blankets to put on when I sleep.
  2. Very good news. Best wishes...your going to enjoy your new life
  3. The non lapbanded people I was talking about are two people who havn't even checked out ths site yet. (Phew did I get out of that one)
  4. Ok I got a solution to all the running to bathroom we have to do....DEPENDS
  5. HarleyNana I like Screwdrivers too and it only takes one to get me drink...I think its the 14th one.
  6. Kelllli whit yo meen som of ushav dinks. I neber toish the stuf. Well it was New Years Eve last nite LOL TrishS...Welcome onboard here. I though that giving up Diet Coke would permanent damage to my system. Well it didn't but what it did do was put me thru 3 days of severe headaches as I came of that damned Caffine. I also enjoyed a good cold beer on occassion. Normal picked the Top of each hour as my occassion. Since I was banded I have not tried any carbonated beverages with the exception of a beer when I was in Vegas a few weeks ago. Got half of it down and was not enjoying the feeling so I didn't finish it. have found many healthy alternatives to drinks. I am buying stock in Gaterades's Propel Waters. LOL Drink 3 to 4 of these a day. Also Fruit 2o are excellent. Good luck with your journey and keep us posted...
  7. You mean your supposed to pay those things the credit card companies send every month. I thought they were just being nice and telling me how much more of their money I had available.
  8. Remember:"A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one year and out the other." </FONT> Ok let's here what everyone is saying this Dec 31st Mine: Is to be more considerate of people I could not tolerate in the past.
  9. I'm glad you didn't either Kim cause now you on your journey to better health. Although I do recommend to anyone having this surgery or any surgery for that matter that they do follow what the Dr's orders are. There are good reasons for why they do what they do. Don't want this to sound like I'm scolding you Kim cause I'm not(not in my nature to do that). I'm happy things are working out for you and everyone else.
  10. My Dr won't do the surgery unless you do the two week pre-op diet. He wants the liver reduced so the surgery can go without him having to worry about damage to the liver. Whats nice is that a side effect is you lose weight while on it. I was lucky and didn't have any of the trouble during the pre op diet that even I was expecting. It went very smooth. Hope your surgery goes well. You are starting at the same weight I did when I had my surgery on Aug 10/04

Becky, You said your half way thru a hat. then next ppost you said your starting on on the right foot. Won't that make it a sock your working on???
  13. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan work there Jack??? I can pack if it does.
  14. Marie, I'll help you defray the cost and share a room. I need it too.
  15. Audrey, Wow, You have done a wonderful job. Its an inspiration to see pics. I can't believe I didn't even think about taking before pictyres. Going to have to have my son send some from his wedding. Thats when I decided I really needed to do something about my weight. Assuming Chris is your husband...He must be very proud of you. If he isn't your husband he still better be proud of you LOL
  16. Northerner If your kids don't want to go I'm willing.. I like window shopping.
  17. Well just arrived at work with my Water bottles and rubber bands... Michelle even though a trainer told you that she should let your know that drinking to much water isn't good for you either. The amount 64oz of water most of our Dr's want us to drink is plenty for the flushing of our systems. Drinking water can be over done and I have done it twice since being banded. Its called over hydrating yourself and it makes you feel like your drunk. Also our water drinking needs to be stopped long enough before bedtime to prevent your sleep from being disturbed due to the manytrips to bathroom. Since I used to work swing shifts I have read alot about sleep and what is good and what is bad. Also since having sleep apnea I know about disturbed sleep(not to be confused with being a disturbed individual). If you do not get at least 2 hrs of undisturbed sleep your body will treat it as wake time..Although you may feel awake after 90 mins of sleep you will quickly tire. A 20 minute nap is healthy as it will help you rejuvinate a bit but its only a short term fix. So if your drinking too much water or drinking to close to heading to bed and you have to get up ever so many hours to unload then your body may not be getting the sleep benifits it needs and this will only cause more health problems. The water just like all other aspects of this lapband life has to be adjust to work for each of us as individuals. Good luck finding what works for you.
  18. Paula, I don't have a problem with the Water end of it. I work midnights and I am normally alone in the building. When I have to get rid of the water I have to call over the radio to have a car stop by the station and then everyone in all six cities on our radio system knows "Greg has to go" What I need is a big supply rubberbands.
  19. No lawsuit..Phew knew I loved ya for the right reasons

You posted here Suzette...Your already involved ...lol Stick with us and we keep you in stiches.
  21. Ok Ok Ok...Hold on right here Becky. You told me men are turned on by cimmamon and you were looking to get the old man active.lol lol. So I sent a receip that if made right would do the trick. This plan was to get husband active so you could burn off some calories Hmmmmm won't say how. YOU WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO EAT THE CIMMAMON BARS TOO. Suppose since I didn't add the footnote to the e-mail I sent about YOU not eating any will result in me being sued for your weight gain. Ha go ahead. means you have to make a personal appearnce in court same time I do and then I can give you a big hug...lol I made them damn cimmamon bars last week for a church function and was so proud of myself that I doidn't eat a single one while at home. Got to church and couldn't stay out of them. Wife said looks like you eat three pounds of them. Damn thats what I gained this week. She is good.

June 25th is fine with me and Kelly it is 4 days before my 55th birthday. Lyle I'll be calling you next day or two and get my feet wet. Looking forward to helping to make Woodstock a forgotten thing...lol
  23. Damn Battery still had juice. Oh well. First time since I have been banded I have gained. BUT I know the reason and I can't blame anyone else but the following people: Next door neighboors for sending over One of thier famous Desserts, My sister for bringing another pumpkin pie to the house, fellow workers for loading the work place up with chocolates, cakes and Cookies, Krogers, Farmer Jacks, Meijer and all the other stores that sell food for being open last week. And lastly Home Depot for being out of duct tape so I couldn't keep my mouth shut. Now I have to work extra hard to get off the three pounds I picked up. But I will do it.
  24. Well I don't know about all of you but I'm praying that when I wake up in the morning the 9 volt battery in my scale is dead and a state wide search for a fresh battery results in none available due to the large volumn of toys sold requiring this battery. I'm also hoping not one single family member purchased one of these toys and will offer me the battery. Further more I am hoping the stores have a one month delivery date for replacement batteries. I know what you are all saying....Dummy take one out of the several smoke alarms in the house..put it in the scale and then after getting the reading replace it in the smoke alarm. I have thought about that but here is my problem. I have 4 smoke alarms in the house each placed in an important area of the home. Which one do I choose and what do I do if for that brief moment the battery is out that smoke alarm. What if there is an undetected need for that alarm to sound and I have the battery in my hand. I could suffer severe damage to my home and property. the resulting fire could spread to my neighbors and they could lose their homes and then several near by business could also be involved cause the lose of jobs. I'd be written up in the paper, probably with a picture of me with the battery in my hand, and scorned by the community. What all this for a reading on the scale I don't want in the first place this week. HMMMMMMMMMMM please advise. My alternative is to sleep till Tuesday and hope some of this holiday junk has past thru the old system.
