  1. For me, 40 lbs has always been the magic number when I really start to get lots of compliments.
  2. I think mine will be sleazy sleeve because sometimes she likes to be naughty.
  3. It is a possible "complication" from surgery because of the anesthesia tube. They warned me about it before the surgery. I didn't have problem though.
  4. Thanks. I read and re-read all the info from my surgeon and the hospital and there isn't anything about seeds.
  5. How long after surgery can we have seeds? I didn't see anything in info doctor gave but I've read it on here. There's a light asian dressing that I love but has seeds and I miss strawberries.
  6. I've been wondering about salad too. I couldn't eat it with my band and I really missed it. I'm in the soft food phase for 2 more weeks but was wondering when others tried it.
  7. Congrats! You look fabulous. How much are you exercising?
  8. Welcome Dawg. I love sf cherry Luigis Italian ice! That's awesome you and your wife will be able to enjoy more active vacations. I hope we all do.
  9. I don't think the troll had vsg surgery. If he/she was really a medical student he/she wouldn't have time to be wasting it on here trying to upset us. I think he/she doesn't have a life and gets off on wasting our time and energy.
  10. Hey Jenn, As a former band patient, I think you're making a good decision. Sucess with the band is a shot in the dark. Finding the "sweet spot" in terms of how many fills is difficult. There are alot more who have trouble with the band than there are who are successful. In my experience, the band was a waste of time and money. Had they told me my risks were higher for a band to sleeve revision I probably would have gone ahead and gotten the sleeve instead. Of course, they never told me that. Good luck to you and welcome!
  11. My doc said it was ok for me to take Unisom for sleep. I take the generic version. Good job on your loss.
  12. There's a doctor in the Dallas area that has his patients use it to help weightloss. I guess the theory is that if it helps with moods it will help control emotional eating.
  13. Have you tried drinking water with Crystal Light flavoring? I like the walmart generic wild strawberry flavor.
  14. I'm sorry you went through that. Unfortunately, there are alot of doctors who are only in it for the money. I experienced someone similar here too.
  15. I think she meant, "so far things are great". I was just teasing about the thong typo.
  16. Congrats! I have hypothyroidism too. I'm one month out and have only lost 13 lbs since surgery.
  17. Wow! Amazing. What kind of exercise are you doing and what's a typical day's food like?
  18. I had a revision. There are more of us on the Band to Sleeve forum. I got the band in April 2009. At first everything went well. I lost 80 lbs. I was almost at goal but, just like every other time I've dieted, I started gaining. I was throwing up all the time with the band sometimes multiple times per day. I couldn't eat chicken, turkey, veggies or salads. All the good stuff! So, eventually I got to the point the only things I could keep down were slider food aka junk food. I probably should have gotten the sleeve instead of the band but I was to scared. I'm a month out and so far everything is going great. You'll be fine. It's a good thing you're young. I'm sure you'll bounce back quickly. Good luck.
  19. I'd be interested in hearing what your doctor says but, maybe start out slowly and try not to over do it to soon. Good luck.
  20. Thongs? LOL Glad you're doing so well! I hope you continue to have a smooth recovery.
  21. I agree with eating earlier to help get your metabolism started. Could you stomach 1 scrambled egg in the morning?
  22. I had a drain too. I believe my doctor uses it on all of her patients. It's not a big deal. It is kinda gross but, it didn't hurt or anything. I also had the On-Q pain ball so I had all kinds of things hangin' out.
  23. I was told to keep my meals to 4 oz. 2 oz of protein and 2 oz of veggies or fruit. I definitely think I can eat more with the slider foods (yogurt, applesauce...)
