  1. Thanks Longer Life. I guess that's what I wanted to hear. I was a volume eater too and I am drinking full liquids all day long too. It's been kinda scary for me because I'm afraid I'll either stretch my sleeve or it won't work for me. I hope this will change when I start solid food.
  2. I had surgery on the 9th. I lost a pound on day 3 then nothing until day 8. I've always been a slow loser so, I wasn't surprised. I think it takes time for body to adjust.
  3. How long after your surgery did you know you no longer had hunger? I'm 9 days post op and have read on here that the acid reflux can mask as hunger. So, how or when did you know you no longer had hunger? Because I'm still hungry. Even though I'm not eating (drinking full liquids) more than I should, I'm still hungry. I hope it'll go away.
  4. I didn't like plain water much before my sleeve. I drink water (before and after sleeve) with generic Crystal Light. I like the Walmart brand wild strawberry. I like it better than the Crystal Light brand flavors. I like kids chewable vitamins too. My doctor's office made me buy a huge bottle of Bariatric Advantage chewable vitamins. I can't stand it. I do like their cinnamon chewable calcium.
  5. Very interesting. I'm going to get a copy of my post op xrays. Maybe some day, I'll be able to compare mine. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Welcome Slim! Sounds like you're off to a great start! Keep it up.
  7. I used to be really into Adkins Diet. I worked great but, of course, I gained it back whenever I stopped following it.
  8. I use Calorie Counter. It's an android phone app. I love it because I can use my phone to scan bar codes into my food diary. It also has a weight tracker. I love seeing the line on the graph going down, down, down!!!!
  9. When I had the band and had something stuck I used the papaya enzyme and pineapple juice. I didn't think either helped much. The best thing for something stuck is time.

The V8 soups are good during the post op liquid phase (strain the chunks). They're on the soup isle and come in cartons. I don't care much for the cream styple soups (mushroom, chicken...blah). I like the squash and SW corn.
  11. Congrats!!!! I'm 8 days post op and I was extremely scared and nervous! Welcome!
  12. I can definitely relate. I always feel so miserable when I'm overweight and it affects other parts of your life, relationships, attitude, outlook... People who haven't lived it don't understand. When I'm losing weight and getting close to my goal (yo-yo-ing) there's a light inside me shining. Making everything else brighter. As someone else on here said, I want to sparkle!
  13. That's great. Keep it up.
  14. Oh, one more thing. I don't miss work!!!!
  15. Congrats Kimmy! I had surgery on 9th too. You're doing great! I've only lost 4lbs since surgery. 3 of those were while I was in the hospital. I haven't lost anything in the last 5-6 days. I miss eating too.
  16. Congrats! Sounds like you're doing great and in great spirits. What sweet husband. Welcome aboard!
  17. Thanks. I'm one week out. I called the doctor's office and the Med Asst said it should be ok as long as I can drink ok and I'm not nauseous or stuck. She recommended drinking someting warm to help dissolve it. She said she'd text the doctor. It doesn't hurt. I can feel it but it's not uncomfortable. I'm just freaked out.
  18. I accidently swallowed a cough drop. Is there anything I should do? I would think making myself throw up would be more harmful to my stomach.
  19. Have you seen the staples? They showed us some in our preop nut class. They're tiny. Not at all what I was picturing.
  20. Is course black pepper ok in the first stages? Or is it to much like a seed? How long are seeds off limits?
  21. You poor thing. I'm sorry you're going through all this. Don't give up though. Take deep breaths, take care of yourself. I agree if you can't talk to your Dad, try to find a job with insurance. It make take time and take longer but, it's not impossible. You're an adult and it's your decision. Hugs.
  22. 80 lbs in 5 mos!!!! That's awesome! You'll get to your goal. Enjoy the journey.
  23. Thanks for posting this. I think it'll help a lot of us.
