Sf Pudding
Was SF pudding on your pre-op diet? I think it was before I got the band. I hope so because I just had some.

Liquid Diet
I started my liquid diet early too. My surgery set for 02/09/12. My doctor only requires me to do a 1 wk pre-op liquid diet but, I wanted to do 2wk because that's what I did before getting the lap band. Plus, I need to lose the weight I gained after the Fluid was taken out of my band. It sure is tempting though. I hear that voice saying welllll, the doctor said you only have to do a 1 wk pre-op diet. ... I hear shrimp and cheesecake calling my name. What do you think?

Last Meal...lol.
I haven't had surgery yet but, at my nutrition class they said that all meals should be 4 oz. They recommended 2oz of protein and 2 oz of veggies or fruit.

Newbie - 4 Years Post-Op Lap Band Considering Gastric Sleeve
I'm suppose to have a revision from bandto sleeve soon. I had similar problems witht the band. I hope it works for me!!! I'm looking forward to the redcued hunger. Even though I couldn't physically eat much with the band, I was always hungry. I miss being able to eat chicken, turkey, veggies and salad. All the healthy stuff.

Dang! Gained 6 Lbs
Rev, I'm so glad to hear your doctor recommended a low carb diet because that's what I'm doing (Atkings style). I haven't seen my doctor since she pulled the Fluid out so, I don't know if she'd be concerned. I don't want to continue gaining so, I'm doing Atkins type low carb this week then next week I'll do liquid Protein shake diet with my protein (Designer Whey) and the following week I'll do my doctor's Bariatric Advantage Protein Shake diet. She only requires one week pre-op liquid diet. My band doctor required two weeks so, I want to go ahead and do two just to be safe. I don't have to much trouble sticking to an Atkins type diet because I feel like I get to eat so much plus it'll help me cut out the carbs & sugar before I start the liquid diet. It helps me cut down the crazings.

Sleeve Friendly Vitamins And Tasty Proteins
I like Designer Whey - Vanilla. I buy it at Vitamin Shoppe but, they sell at GNC and some grocery stores. I like the vanilla because I can have it straight, with cinamon (tastes like eggnog), frozen strawberries, or blueberries, coffee... The sky's the limit I haven't had surgery yet. I've drank them for years for weightloss/ working out.

What kind of jeans are you going to buy to reward yourself when you reach goal?

Off Limits Food?
After sleeve surgery what types of food are forbidden? Before being banded, I asked the doctor what foods (or drinks) would be off limits. He said you can eat everything as before just in smaller quantities, which was a LIE! I know carbonated drinks are to be avoided. No strawberries or small seeds for a while - how long? What else?

Dang! Gained 6 Lbs
The doctor unfilled my band to get me ready for surgery. I guess to give my stomach a break. I've gained 6 lbs in about a week and half. I still have about 3 weeks to surgery! I wish they'd give you diet pills to help until surgery. Any suggestions?

Fatigue...when Does It End After Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
Lisa, I haven't had sleeve surgery yet but, I was extremely tired after I got the band for several weeks and after one other "female" surgery. So, I know it's normal to have fatigue but, are you getting enough Protein? Any kind of surgery is a big deal. Take care of yourself.

Sleeve Secret? What Do You Say?
I have used those before. When I had gotten to my goal weight with the band (later gained it back), the excuse that I'm on a diet, people looked at me like I was crazy. I have used the following excuses. I would like to try to get a complete list of excuses. I've already eaten. I had a big Breakfast. I'm trying to lose weight. I don't feel good/ stomach ache/ sick. I have a tooth ache. (a couple of times, I really did have a tooth ache) I've even said, I didn't care for the meal very much. I'm not hungry. Any more good excuses?

Sleeve Secret? What Do You Say?
Yes, I have mastered the art of ordering water and not drinking it during meals. I really don't like the taste of plain water so, it wasn't difficult. Before the band I used to drink iced tea but, at $2-$3 a pop, it wasn't difficult to give it up either. My weekly lunch costs went down over $10 a week.

Sleeve Secret? What Do You Say?
For those who are keeping your sleeve private. What do you say when out to lunch / dinner with friends, co-workers, business meetings... With the band even waiter/ waitresses say that's ALL your eating?

Does anyone ever feel like we took the "easy way" out?
I don't know how anyone could call having the majority of your stomach cut out as easy. No, way! I haven't had the sleeve (yet) but am seriously considering it.
