  6. So happy for you! Will say a prayer for you that all goes smoothly! Check back in when you can!
  7. I am going to in 13 days! So far I have had a great experience with his office and staff.
  8. I am so glad you were able to figure out what was causing your pain and that it was a fixable complication. Sorry you had to go through that! Hope it goes smoothly from here!
  9. Melissa- I am sure your feelings are very common, so don't feel bad for having them. I had my first anxiety today as well and I have 2 weeks to go. It is the beginning of a big change in life and change is scary. Even great change is uncomfortable and the reality of it is hitting you. I bet you will feel better tomorrow. This process is an emotional roller coaster for all of us. Be kind to yourself. It's going to be just fine.
  10. I don't have a 2 week pre-op diet, but I am doing it anyway. I started today. If I am dying, then I will have a piece of protein (most likely a boca burger), but otherwise I am doing pretty much the same diet I will be doing for the first few weeks after surgery.
  11. It is a little funny that we all do this and think we are the only ones. lol I gotta tell you though... I finally stopped a few weeks back. It must be a mental process that we all go through because I finally woke up from that silliness! Now that I am 2 weeks away from surgery, I am mentally taking this very seriously and there will be not one morsel of bad food going into my mouth in the next 14 days. It is like a switch has gone off in my brain.
  12. I can't believe I am 2 weeks out and have my pre-op appt this Thurs. Today for the first time I got nervous butterflies just thinking about it! It is hitting me that this is REALLY happening!!
  13. I am going to get some earrings from Tiffany's! I already have them picked out!
  14. I agree that nobody should attack another person. I do feel there is a difference between disagreeing with someone and attacking them (although both can sometimes sting!) I believe we should all be as supportive to others as we possibly can while maintaining honesty. I would hope people would be honest with me even if it was something I didn't want to hear. However, I would want them to express it with respect and care. Sorry that you have felt this way. I'm not sure which posts you mean either, but hope you will stick around!
  15. As a single parent, I have had some of the same thoughts. The reality is this... I am probably more at risk of dying in an auto accident than from this surgery. Do I stop driving because it is possible that someone could hit me on the road? No. I drive safely and wear my seatbelt and take any other precautions I can when I am out there. I am doing the same with the surgery. I am staying healthy pre-op to make my surgery go as smooth as possible and I picked a very experienced doctor for the same reason. I will lower my risk in all the ways I have control over and let the surgeon do the rest!
  16. Let us know how your appointment goes!
  17. Best of luck on your surgery! You are definitely not alone. I have 28 more days of the emotional roller coaster! :der: <------ me right now.
  18. I was very hesitant to share my surgery with anyone, but I chose my two closest friends and my teenage daughter and decided to tell each of them and was so relieved that they were very supportive. It really made me want to tell my father, but I know him and he would drill me in the same way and I already know that I can't deal with that negativity right now. I am confident in my decision and I will tell my father at some point when he cannot argue with the results. I am very sorry that you had to experience that with your friend. I am sure you will fix that with her eventually and she will feel bad for approaching you that way. I think you should send her a message and let her know that you appreciate her concerns, but that your well researched decision is made and you hope that she will support you as a friend even if she disagrees with your choice. People are so rude sometimes. It really baffles me.
  19. I am right at a month away and I almost feel a bit obsessive about this surgery! I feel impatient, I feel nervous, I feel excited, and I can hardly think about anything else! I am just so ready to start my new life! I know it will be here quickly, but it is still driving me crazy.
  20. All I am thinking about is surgery too. I am going to deep clean my house and do everything I can for the next month. I feel like I am nesting or something! lol
  21. All I can say is... Wow! I can't wait to have a moment like that!
