  3. Technically one more day for you!!!! OMIGOODNESS! I'll be thinking of you on your special day as I start my pre-op liquid diet!
  4. I start my pre-op diet that day, so I will be thinking about you!!! Good luck and please keep us updated!!!
  5. AHH.. Good luck!!! I'll be thinking about you as I get my things together for my next day visit to the land of sleeves! You really only have to pre-op diet for 2 days??? LUCKY!!
  6. OH I'm so excited for all of us!!!! This is going to be one of those fantastic voyages that most people only get to see on T.V.!! There are a few BRILLIANT occasions in my short life on this earth. Being privileged to be the mother of 3 great kids, having a terrifically supportive, and loving family, and meeting the man of my dreams almost 3 years ago. I've had so many ups and downs the past few years, and everything this year, just seems to be going my way for once in my life! I'm so thoroughly blessed!! I hope that each of you find the support you need to get through this. Be it through your friends and family or right here on this site! If you need someone to talk to and just don't feel you have anyone, shoot me a message and I'll send you my number. I'm a pretty good listener. Thank you all for your kind words and support. I can't wait to see how much this changes us in the months to come!!!
  7. I've tried a few of the protein drinks, right now, I prefer the EAS, and the Costco protein that is pre mixed. They aren't terrible, but I can't imagine drinking either of them all day everyday. Right now I'm just doing 2 a day until my all liquid diet starts on the 7th! Congrats and good luck!!!
  8. Just curious where you are having your surgery. Since we have the same insurance, I was wondering if you were doing it at Methodist. Congrats on your approval and date!!
  9. Wishing you the best of luck Friday! I will be thinking some special thoughts just for you!!!
  10. I know where Fairfeild is! Well, from my online job I do! I schedule mystery shops in that area! LOL. I think that you will be okay, it's not like you downed a burger and fries! I'm certain that I will want to cheat too! I'm so worried about starting my diet on Thursday, even though I've been practicing a bit. But, I just keep telling myself I CAN DO IT. It helps that my best friend and sister are doing it with me!
  11. When you make your ticker, copy the URL under it. Go to your profile and click "edit my profile" on the upper right hand side. On the Left side of that page, click "my signature" and add the URL to the second box, then save.
  12. Doctor Colleen Kennedy is my surgeon. We are going on a trip the first weekend in August! Not a cruise, but I know I'm going to have to take food with me in order to survive! It's all good though! YES! Please let me know how yours went. I'm so very anxious, and I LOVE the fact that out of all the posts I've seen, NO ONE has said they regret it! Lots of luck and keep me posted!!
  13. I'm having mine on the 14th, and I've read another post about a sleever that was certain she was feeling hunger. Many suggested that she take an antacid, because acidity can feel like hunger. Others suggested taking in more fluids. Some talked about it being a "mind game" your brain plays with your stomach. You have to get the right frame of mind. I don't know if any of this helps, but thought I would share.
  14. I think that everyone researches WLS inside and out before making the big decision. I actually didn't know much about VSG when I went to my surgeon. I'd heard of it, but didn't know anyone who had actually had it! I went in thinking I wanted the Lapband also! My sister had had it done in May of "09, but she hasn't had as much success as she would like. Her starting weight was 279 @ 5'4" and she is just NOW down to 202. It was my surgeon who advised me against it. In reality, I live almost an hour (2 during bad traffic) from Dallas where my doc is located, so the maintenance would have been VERY difficult for me since I work 2 jobs and have 3 kids. Yes, I said 2 jobs, but they are not laboring, and one I do from home, lol. Congratulations on your decision and good luck!! Please keep us posted!
  15. WOW! We have Heather H scheduled for the 4th! Talk about INDEPENDENCE! FREE FROM FAT, FREE FROM FAT, Thank GOD ALMIGHTY I'M FREE FROM FAT! *giggles* Good luck tomorrow Heather H!!
  16. YAY! HI! Are you already on your diet? Where are you having your surgery? I've noticed A LOT of folks going to Tijuana for theirs.... I'm not that brave!
  17. We couldn't be anything other than the July FIRECRACKERS!!!!
  18. I've seen you post a few times in various forums, and knew you were waiting for the OK! So glad you finally got it!! Congrats!!
  19. This is going to be an interesting week! Thursday I start my one week pre-op liquid diet. I am fortunate to not have to go at it alone. My best friend AND my sister are doing it with me! I'm feeling very blessed by the support of my family and friends! Surgery is on Thursday the 14th at Methodist Dallas with Dr. Colleen Kennedy. I'm READY READY READY!!!! I'd love to have a few sleeve buddies! Anyone have a similar date???
  20. I have BCBS of Texas and my BMI was 45.9, they require either a BMI of 35 or greater with 2 health related issues due to obesity, or a BMI greater than 40.
  21. Unfortunately my weight just fluctuated in a 20 pound radius during my diet. My start weight was 310, my end weight was 302. HOWEVER, when I went to the surgeon, I must have been having a great week, because I was down to 292. Insurance still approved. I think it varies from insurance to insurance, but if you aren't sure, you can always call and ask them what their politics and procedures are to get an approval. Good luck!
  22. I liked the group and forgot to join! I'm scheduled for my surgery on July 14th in Dallas also! Methodist Dallas to be exact! Where are you having yours?
  23. I know what you mean, it is very unreal. I'm having mine on the 14th of July! We can be sleeve buddies! Keep us posted on your progress!!!! Congratulations!
  24. I have a great idea, you just send me a check with the amount you would spend on clothes if you liked to shop, and I'll go shop for me instead!! LOL. AFter my surgery of course! Which is July 14th!!! Just kidding, congrats, and I can't wait to have your problem!! lol
