3 1/2 weeks out and feeling horrible
Hi guys! Is your immune sytem compromised after surgery? I have had horrible pain in my side, hip then pelvic area. I went to ER and they said I had muscle strain and a UTI and bladder infection! I started taking pain meds again and the pain meds linger in my sytem and make me feel very drugged and completely exhausted! Even 10 hrs later! Then I woke up with a horrible sore throat and I feel achey. ugh! The only good thing about my throat feeling dry and on fire is I have been sipping Water like crazy! When I feel better I was thinking of getting the flu shot! Has anyone else gotten the flu shot w the sleeve? Thanks for your help!

Emotion Overload!!!!
Hi guys! I am 3 weeks post op! I too was a ball of nerves! The liquid 3 days pre op was the worst part. Very emotional. Day of surgery, I couldnt stop crying, I asked the anesthesiologist if i can back out!!! But, he put me out and i went through with it! You will be a bit uncomfortable for a few days, but, they give you pain meds and that helps ALOT!!!! After surgery, your not hungry! You do need to remember to drink your fluids to not get dehydrated, but, the biggest battle post surgery for me is figuring out what to eat (mooshies/puree stage after liquids), getting in protein, getting in fluids etc. I still have some muscle soreness, but, my incision sites never hurt. I do get hungry, I guess I am one of the few who do, and head hunger really sucks! Went to my friends house and she ordered pizza and salad and that was rough, thats the buyers remorse knowing that I wont be able to eat a whole piece of pizza and enjoy a large salad! But, I guess thats the point! I am 3 weeks out and learning and adjusting every day. But, I am not angry with myself, I am not depressed, just taking this new chapter 1 day at a time! I had the feeling of why couldnt I do this on my own, why did i need surgery, i could be happy heavy.....but, my sleeve is a life saver, my future will be brighter, I will adjust. I lost 26 lbs pre op and so far lost 19 lbs post op. I am happy with the weight loss! It isnt a miracle though, you have to work your sleeve for optimal weight loss, but, it is very managable. Stalls are very common for alot of us and frustrating too! But, thats our bodies adjusting to the new way of eating and the little amounts. But, the stall will break and your not the one person the sleeve wont work for! It will work for you! You just need patience and this message board because I have found 100 % of my support here! unfortunately not through family friends or my doctor, but , here! Good luck on your journeys! If you follow your dr.'s instructions, you will have a smooth post op experience with no issues!

where are you losing it?
Hi guys! I Have lost a total of 47 lbs since the start of my pre-op diet in June. My pants that I was squeezing into 47 lbs heavier I can still wear, but, they are lose in my legs, butt, hips, upper body has lost, but, my waist is pretty much the same, my pants are still kinda tight in my waist! I hope I start losing there soon so I can go down sized!!!! I am a pear shape body, so I carry mosy of my weight in my belly, hips, butt ad legs. I never took measurements, maybe I should have. How are you doing!?

two weeks out- what is everyone eating?
I found that protein shakes take away my hunger and the water helps me feel full too. because i feel hungry at times I dont wait too long to eat, I have my snacks or meals which isnt very much. but its a balance throughout the day to stay satisfied. I also use fitness pal (.com) and that helps me stay in a good range of calories/protein/carbs. I average 700 calories a day and I lose every few days. I am happy so far. But, I too am one of the people who get hungry. Hopefully it will pass. Good luck.

*RANDOM* Tomorrow my mom is making me meatloaf!!
My mom and I were just talking about meat loaf! How I miss it! LOL! I did have a special meal at my moms house last weekend. I am still on mushies and she made a roast chicken, mashed potaos, gravy, mashed squash and green beans. I had very small pieces of chicken that were moist mixed w gravy and mashed potato and my squash which wa so good. I ate everything but the salad and green beans! I was satisfied and it felt so good to eat with the whole family!!! It seemed like one of the best family meals ever! Kinda like, you dont know what you have till its gone! But, it was great, I felt great! No issues! I made sure the chicken was tiny pieces and chewed ALOT, that also slowed me down! My dad kept asking is I ate enough! He is still so worried about me getting all my nutrition! Anyway, I tend to ramble! I hope you have an amazing dinner with your mom and enjoy it! My only advise is make sure the meat is moist or mix it with somthing moist if your still on mushies and chew chew chew!

September 10th check in/weigh in
Hi guys!!! I weighed in at 234.4! down 4 oz.'s! I'll take it! Yesterday I had a real struggle! I was at my friends house and they ordered pizza and salad and they both looked and smelled so good. I just drank Water while there. Before I went I ate, but, I guess it was head huger and the wish I could eat like I used to! I feel much better today! I survived! LOL! I have been using fitnesspal too and that rocks! It really helps me to see what I am eating and how many calories/carbs/protein I consume! I love the calcium chews! They are the best part of my day! They are so yummy! The vanilla is like a dessert and the chocolate is like a tootsie roll! LOL! I started walking, then my big incision site pulled open a bit and had to have that re steri stripped. After that I was put in a situation at work where I had to lift somthing heavy. I have been more sore since. I know I shouldnt have, but, I had no choice. So I havent been walking since. I started work on wednesday and getting back into a routine is tough, especially getting up SO early! My stalls have been on and off. I wont lose for a week and then I lose 2 lbs. then I stall another week. but, its only been 3 weeks. Anyway, I look forward to reading everyones posts! Happy Saturday everyone!

Are you eating on a schedule ...
LOL! Yup! I know what you mean! I have a few! I still really like dutch chocolate medifast. I bought ready made slimfast chocolate, its good, but, higher sugar/carb, 10g protein, Day break chocolate atkins, not bad. I also buy the equate version (walmart brand) of weight loss shakes, choco and vanilla. They are good, but, 10 g protein and higher sugar/carbs. The eas chocolate is ok, just needs to be cold! And the atkins strawberry banana is pretty good! I bought the big conatiners of whey protein isolate in chocolate and that is aweful!!! it doesnt taste like chocolate and it has a weird Peanut Butter taste, so gross. I also bought a big container of body fortress vanilla, too sweet, and no good either, cant taste vanilla. So I bought the unflavored

Are you eating on a schedule ...
i was sleeved the 17th as well! I lost 15 lbs right after surgery and have been having stalls on and off since then. I have lost another 6 lbs in 2 weeks. I do 2 Protein Shakes a day. I get 42 to 64 oz of Water in a day. and I think I eat or drink around the clock. I actually do get hungry, so I much on string cheese, alot! Its a staple for me. I also eat babybell cheese, soft scambled egg w cheese, tuna, mashed potato, Soup, fish, I even ate really moist chicken with mashed potatoes. I get an average of 700-800 calories a day. I dont measure. I stop when I feel full. I am winging it honestly and yes I would love to drop lots of weight non stop, but, seeing everyones posts, I dont have high expectations any more. I guess slow and steady wins the race, so I say hang in there and enjoy the ride, the weight will come off,we just need to be patient. I mean we are eating protein, lower sugar/carbs and alot less calories, so how cant we lose! I have cheated a few times, I ate 25 cheez its! and loved every one! LOL! Thats my weakness, but, i shake it off and get back on track! anyway, good luck! you will lose the weight!!!!

List of foods that you can eat when fully healed
My NUT said to avoid salad, but cole slaw was ok because of the texture. I guess if you chew really well, it shouldnt be a problem!

Tired of this thing called 'THE STALL'
I am in the same boat! It could be our bodies adjusting to the new way we are eating. I am hoping our bodies adjust soon and we start losing. I think since so many of us are going through it, it has to be normal. I am hoping! LOL! Good luck!!!!
